    A few good Movies

First off, NetFlix rules!! Roomates and I have seen like 7 movies already and we've only had it for 2 weeks! It's only like $15 a month too...cheaper than block buster! [/end netflix plug] Anyway, I wanted to recommend some movies that i've never seen before but are really rad (in no particular order): -Easy Rider (absolutly loved it! Definetly 60's hippie bike movie, but still great! The commentary on the DVD was the best part) -The Beach (reminds me of lord of the flies, but with a hot french girl. Saw it for the first time last night) -Yea Right! (skate movie that was directed by a real hollywood director, so its got some really quality editing and good skating ofcourse. Put out by Girl skateboards) -First Descent (Really good snowboarding documentary, a must for any rider! Features terje, shaun, t rice, and hannah teeter. Takes place in AK ) Your turn.
  3. Just replace the rad. (Expecially if the rad is OEM). And whatever rad hoses you can afford at the time. You may want to replace the thermostat too while your in there (it's easy to do). Your current aux fan is hooked up to the ignition switch, but i've always liked them on my own toggle switch inside the cab (it's super easy to wire up like that anyway) Then you also get the freedom of turning it on and off. :brows: Overheating sucks. :headpop: Oh and did anyone mention standard operating temperture for these I6 engines? It's between 180-220 if i'm not mistaken, so really your truck aint that bad. :chillin:
  4. I had terrible DW with my stock XJ awhile back... Turned out the bolt on the trac bar (axle side) had lost it's nut and was about 1/2" out :brows: Shook like the dickens on the freeway.. I keep a spare bolt now just incase...hahahhaha i'm paranoid man...
  5. Get it leveled out in the spring shop? You've lost me... How big is the lift your installing? i'd say if it was over 3" your gonna run into some problems. And again, depending on the size of the lift you might need a track bar drop bracket (RE makes one). Don't drive without one installed and properly adjusted though
  6. Replaced the o2 sensor and it runs! Thanks guys. Wish I knew not to clean the damn things.... Anyway/ i've got a new CPS and injector orings on the way too, so hopefully it'll be back to running cherry. Thanks again fellas. :chillin:
  7. Actually I didn't when I replaced the head... Would that cause it to not start?

    my space is lame.... :dunno:
  9. UPDATE: I finally tested the TPS the correct way and it appears to be in working order. So that's probably not it..maybe ignition coil? Or a fuel delivery problem?
  10. I suspected that a bad TPS would cause the truck to not start. But I hope to get some good advice before I throw money at it. (oh and their only $92 at kragens, according to their website).
  11. I'd personally avoid that little star on the rear quarter panel...too many stars...it's not the TEAM AMERICA truck or something... :USAflag: Or is it? ;) Oh and you should take your gas cap cover door thingamajig off..i've always thought that looks alittle militant (which is a good thing  ) It'd be smart to then get a locking gas cap too. Anyway, i've been a huge fan of olive green paint, and yours is freaking awesome! keep up the good work mang.
  12. Playing the right music (SLAYER?) it'll add HP too.
  13. i posted this in the NAXJA tech forum but I really think I can get as much help as I can... (here's the thread if you give a rats @$$: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=94226 ) So last week I did a good amount of work on the heep (borla header, poly motormounts, new cap, new rotor, new plugs, new vac lines, new CCV lines, oil/filter change, and a k&n "cold air"). Got the truck running fine with all these new additions (the best it's been running in a while in fact). Went on a short trail (about 4.5 miles total) and the truck performed amazingly and eventually drove it home alright. The next day I started it up and it idled fine. As soon as I stepped on the gas the engine began to run really rough and eventually died. It then wouldn't start after that. I checked all the vacuum lines and electrical connections and everything was ok. I wiggled the injectors and tried starting it again, and it did. This time it idled fine for a minute and then ran rough and died (no throttle applied). I just tested the TPS today following both a haynes and chilton manual. If I performed the test correctly, then according to those books the TPS is bad. I got a reading of around 4.8 volts which was constant from closed throttle to wide open (and everything in between). I'll go out and double check it tonight. So say the TPS is bad...would that cause the no start? If it is bad, is it a dealership part or could I get away with one from pick n pull..? Also..I remeber partially while I was swapping out the old header and putting in the borla, I briefly cleaned the o2 sensor with carb cleaner. Would this destroy it? If so, would it cause the problems i'm describing? I'm a pretty competent home mechanic, but this has throughly stumped me. I'm searching this site and my haynes/chilton manuals like a mad man trying to get my damn truck running!! Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated Also, which two wires do I test on the TPS? Blue and gray? :hateputers:
  14. The CON!! Let's see what all your rigs are really made of :brows:
  15. HAHA you beat me too it. Uhh what he said! :D don't forget wheel spacers. :brows:
  16. Shade tree mechanics? And what is a plastic straw from KFC? Genuine OEM...? 3/8" (I believe it to be) vacuum tubing is designed to replace OEM lines. There's not much 'fabbing' involved either... simply measure and cut (hell I didn't even measure twice :chillin: ). But I suppose this could be a complicated little project for some.. It was probably cheaper for Jeep at one point in time to use hard plastic lines vs. rubber tubing. However they turn that around and charge a pretty penny for it at the $tealership. Then again, if you have money and can afford to go to the dealership and replace these parts then by all means go for it. I suppose this is the only "correct" way to fix this problem. And it's not as hard as fabbing your own lines either ;) But i'm not made of money. So $.09 an inch of some rubber crap from kragens sounds just right to me. And it works brilliantly. Dang all this over a broken vacuum line...
  17. One time I was cutting my muffler off (i was in high school) and the sawzall blade got stuck and the sawzall started going up and down really quickly, smashing my hand on the concrete. It hurt alot so I squeezed my hands harder, which only made the situation worse. I finally let go and the damn thing fell on my pinky and ring finger. atleast it wasn't my dome though...that sucks man..
  18. Peter, you got mail! (it's in the mail anyway...)
  19. pingping - That could possibly be. Infact, on the 88 4.0, I replaced the blow OEM motor mounts with poly ones, which also makes an engine feel more powerful (because it's more stable). But I still believe the borla has added some extra ponies. Granted it's probably not worth the 500-600 bones it'll cost you (unless of course your current manifold is cracked)
  20. Honestly to me that sounds lame. There's plently of other ways to cheaply fix a broken vacuum line than taco bell's straws. But it was almost easier just getting replacement tubing from kragens and not even worring about it anymore. Either way, it's all said and done. Thanks for the help though, bud ;) And my fat @$$ isn't going anywhere, thank you
  21. I've run the same borla header on both a 95 4.0 HO and now an 88 4.0, and on both engines i've noticed a large improvement. Although moving 35's requires alot of power and by no means is my truck a street racer because of the head, it simply has more low end power noticable on hill climbs and accelerating from a dead stop. Which in my opinion made the header worth the money. Plus mine was cracked in the first place. Only problem with the borla is that there is no factory dent in it so my front ds mashes into it and is slowly denting it in (which in the name of clearence, is a good thing  ) just my 2 cents EDIT: Oh and yea I agree with pingpong - gearing is key.
  22. Nice project  Best part was that it was free 8)

Damn is that what that rash is? I thought some girl gave it to me but is was this place! :hateputers:
  24. Shields? Cold air intake? Hell I just thought it looked cool. 8) (Yea i'm working on a shield, and i'd like to get a pre filter. Plus I keep the filter cleaned and lubed @ every oil change)
  25. Niiice... 8) I'm sure you saw the MJ on ebay with the same face lift done to it. Pretty cool idea, if your into comestics and such.. Got any other pics of different angles?
