  1. I did all the ones I could reach with my torq wrench 35 lbs. And the others were as tight as I could get (it's a b*@$£ reaching up there!) I dunno if I said it earlier, but thanks for the help 87. I got the truck running way sooner than I expected and I believe it was because of the advice I recieved here.
  2. 20 bones a pop
  3. Well 87 despite your advice, I took the road less travelled and replaced two of the studs with grade 8 zinc coated (i think) bolts. Infact I replaced all the header/manifold bolts and so far so good (I drove it to the gas station for gas yesturday - no problemas yet :brows: ) And they lookin blingin too I guess we'll really see what happens. If it blows up my engine some how some way, 87 you can say "i told ya so" till the day I die :redX:
  4. Is there any ventilation for that blowby catcher? I need to rig something like that up... :brows: EDIT: and what's that filter for?
  5. Doneski! And the truck is running before monday (my estimated deadline)! Currie poly engine mounts are in, borla stainless header is in, and a whole bunch of new vac plumbing (ripped out alot of the OEM plastic BS) :D So here's the tidier vac line plumbing "situation" (one still needs to be routed to the filter - can you find it?): Close up of the K&N: Overall Engine Bay (next on the list is to clean up all the new electrical):
  6. YEEEAAA PETE!! I'd by you a beer if I could man.
  7. No body damage yet? :???: Your not trying hard enough 87' haha... $#!& your right. I forgot. Well you could always get a AAL, but i'm not too fond of them.
  8. While I agree 6" is way cooler than 2"...I disagree with what you say. Lifting a MJ/XJ only 2" (like with the teraflex 2" BB - coil spacers and extened shakles) you don't even need new shocks, not to mention possible SYE, new rear drive shaft, CA's, etc. Teraflex 2" Budget Boost: My first lift was that teraflex 2" BB and I ran that for years. The beauty of it was then I got the RE 5.5" (not LA) and was able to run both - netting about 7-8" of lift :brows: Therefore, I most definetly recommend only going 2". And I recommend using the teraflex kit (only $130: http://www.4wd.com/newsite/shop/product ... =491&mid=n )
  9. I do, but it's seized onto the stud. I'll figure it out today :chillin:
  10. Nice! Pete I like the integration into the roll bar, nice and secure - but your bed seems alot smaller (and it's not just cause i have a LB ;) ) Cdub - That's killer man! Is it strong enough to swing completly out with a tire on it? That's exactly what i'm looking for...Any chance you'll be in the nor cal/reno area anytime soon and wanna make some money...? :brows: Overall it sounds like for what I want I should have it fabbed or I should learn to weld (ha!). Thanks for the insite guys, i'm gonna try to keep adding to this thread with more and more examples...who knows maybe it'll be usefull some day
  11. Please don't tell me everyone here just chucks their spare in the bed... Has anyone done anything creative? Like a bed mounted spare or even something crazy like this tire gate: http://tiregate.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=182 I'd really love to have some cool looking like that, but that company doens't produce them for MJ's and having it custom fabbed would probably cost a good amount (and i don't know how to weld). But i'm just looking for ideas.. Let's see what ya'll got :brows:
  12. I went to kragens and eye balled out some studs, and they didn't fit. Does anyone know what size they are?
  13. UPDATE! Got all this $#!& done before the weekend! I hope to get it running before monday but we'll see  Half way through the Borla install: Ohhh yeeaa  : Currie Engine Mounts (passenger side): Old vs. New: That's it for now. I'm going to replace all the OEM plastic vacuum tubing with rubber vac tubing (i've managed to break 3 lines already  )
  14. 87 - I picked some of that tube up today and can't wait to replace all that plastic BS. I also got the borla in today finally! All I need now is a newer intake and some header bolts (2 of the studs unscrewed and came out - thought i'd replace them with plain o' bolts). This nightmare is slowly but surley getting better and better
  15. Was it specially rubber tube that could hold a vacuum that you guys used? Or was it whatever was at kragens? I think i'm gonna do that...clean up the engine compartment a bit. Plus I hate those little damn fragile plastic tubes
  16. Well my project of swapping the header, intake, and motor mounts all at once has gone from bad to worse. I keep breaking damn vacuum lines, by the time i'm done with this their all gonna be bandaged pretty badly...
  17. Here is the line (drivers side): The arrows point to where the line goes. I've got no idea what that is (haven't checked my haynes yet  ): Is it possible to simply repair the line? With a larger rubber hose around each end or maybe just duct tape? Gracias
  18. Good to know. Thanks for all the replies. I would like to swap in a 99+ intake, but moneys tight - we'll see.
  19. I've got a borla header from a 95 w/ O2 sensor and I wanna put it in my 88 MJ. Was wondering if there were any major differences in the two year periods? I realize that i'll cross that bridge when i get there, but i thought i'd ask anyway. FYI: The 95 engine doesnt have a vacuum system and runs on an open cooling system, which probably has no affect on the header.
  20. Me and everyone I know who has had a jeep has wired in a switch to their aux fan. By far the best cheapest and easiest mod i've done  And if you really wanna get cool (pun intended) you could pick up a hayden 10" aux fan from kragens. Those little bad boys have kept my jeep cool under harsh wheeling climates - something the stock fan was never able to do.
  21. Awesome pete! 24"s huh? Got any pics? Can't wait.
  22. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? You can get new Fram ones at Kragens, but I forget how much they are. Easy to replace too. You may consider replacing the fuel pump, after you've done everything else and it is still acting the same way. My truck had similar problem and it was the pump ;)
  23. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAhHAHAHA holy $#!& i just laughed my @$$ off at that, pete. Thanks. Ooo can i order 12"ers yet??
  24. ? Edit: Que magnetos? Edit Edit: don't answer my random nonsense questions.
