hardly tech.... replacement interior lights?
ORCA replied to BrettM's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Let us know, I'd sure like to ditch mine -
Aaww that's right, your laptop is goofy if I remeber correctly? Anyway, Pete I'd be willing to as much as I can in terms of keeping the comancheclub.com website itself updated. I'm some what proficient in web editing and definetly willing to "lend my skills" (haha  ). If your wondering why, 1. i'm trying to help the club in my own way. Pete you yourself do a whole heck of alot and it's time for some of us (or atleast me) to pitch in. 2. I'm currently enrolled in an HTML web publishing class and it's great practice for me and 3. I'm an up & coming web designer and i'm trying to build a portfolio for myself. I can understand you wanting to get as many members involved as possible and I think that's where the members page (and forum) come into play. However I'm more than willing to help the whole entire effort and get some sort of design up for comancheclub.com, whether it's all my design or not. Just know that i'm more than willing to take on the task. To me it's not work, more of another hobby (like jeepin). Also I'd be willing to work with you Pete to try to get everything online smoothly and efficiently. It's definetly easy stuff to do, but not having a guiding hand helping out can make it pretty darn frustrating. (been there, done that ;) ) Soo, I don't know if I've said it enough, but just let me know  It's all for the greater good of this awesome club you've formed.

Alright, i'll make your bio right now. Pete hasn't chimmed in yet...wtf is going on?! I thought about it and IMHO, I think it'd be better if we left write up's/tech info on the forum. I could be wrong though. However, it would be nice to expand the main comancheclub.com page even more. (maybe down the road?)

Thanks! I spent alittle more time on this one. Hey send me some information about your truck and i'll put you on the members section of the site.

ORCA replied to ORCA's topic in Forum Issues, Ideas, Testing
Try changing this: fadeimages[0]=["mjclub_01.jpg", "images/mjclub_01.jpg", "_new"] fadeimages[1]=["mjclub_02.jpg", "images/mjclub_02.jpg", "_new"] To this: fadeimages[0]=["images/mjclub_01.jpg", "images/mjclub_01.jpg", "_new"] fadeimages[1]=["images/mjclub_02.jpg", "images/mjclub_02.jpg", "_new"] I changed acouple of things (but I realized the mistake I made, which is the one you pointed out). Anyway, IT WORKS! Check it out! ( http://www.amt.org/scott/cc/index.html ) Thanks for the help jage! -

dangit the fading images isnt working...I'll see if I can fix it tonight -
Disclaimer: I'm a self taught web/graphic designer who has just recently taken my first HTML class. I come from an artistic backround so i'm used to having my 'works' critiqued - so please let me know what's on your mind. My interpretation of comancheclub.com: http://www.amt.org/scott/cc/index.html Links don't work and there is no content. I can also change the buttons around if we need more or less links (like do we really need a yahoo group button? how many people are on that anyway?) Let me know what you guys think. I plan on making the backround fade between images, so if you've got some nice and cool pictures of your 'manche then post em up here or emailing to me or whatever. Other than that I think the links are gonna be changed around a bit and we need content to be added. Pete mentioned having a members section with a picture and brief description. I'll come up with a format for each truck's bio, but i'd like to keep it consistant. Did I say it before? Let me know what you guys think.

Soo..my truck took a dump on me this morning on the way to work  Lucky for me the part that burst is the little network of tubing right below the resevoir bottle. Anyone know what this is called or have a part #? I'd get a picture but my trucks acouple blocks away right now.. Please help me guys, my life is kinda on hold without my truck! (i'm sure this is true for most of us) Thanks! Ok hope this helps: Red arrow points to the hole

Awesome! Keep up with the pictures.

HAHAHA did I really say that? happy halloweeeeen!

Wow, never thought about it like that. He's alot like me (more than anyone else in the family) so he'd think it was funny if I bought yet another jeep. Thanks man, you've really turned over a new leaf for me  Before i do anything i'm gonna ask him personally where he thought he'd see the money go (and where'd he would like it go). That's what i'm talking about!! Make money money money make money money money! I'm no really strapped for cash nowadays, so it's not like I necessarily NEED this. It's more like winning the family lottery I think I might be a red blooded over weight american and spend some of the cash now on my truck. Invest the rest and hopefully make a good chunk of change  Either way, i'll jeep ya'lls updated with it :chillin:
-
Doesn't look like it would be that hard to make. :brows: Woopsiedaisies, I forgot to mention in my above post that i am personally welding/fabbing illiterate. If on the other hand you can make one yourself then go for it! Hell i'd pay you money to make me one too

I remeber being in high school and prioritizing (sp?) my jeep mods. The mentallity back then was "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" (it goes hand in hand with not having alot of money). However the reality of it was that the 'jeep bug' had bitten me hard and there was no turning back. I then ended up spending my hard earned cash on mods that were more of a necessity to wheeling (recovery gear, safety equipment, spares, tools, etc). I guess there really isn't much bling factor in this stuff (especially compared to rims), but I was a happy camper when my first tow strap and d-ring arrived at my door. And I've also heard once or twice that "chrome don't get you home". To answer your question specifically, I don't know if that's a good deal. I know you can get plain ole black steelies these days for $30 (you do the math ;) ) a pop and their brand new (plus IMHO they look alot cooler than 'rims' - reguardless of tire/lift combination) But then again, I know there are several of you out there who value nice looking, chromed out, spot-n-dent less jeeps. Just not my cup of tea i guess. :redX:

I've always loved this contraption (atleast it's some inspiration): http://www.tiregate.com/ Where's the MJ model?!
-
BLAME CANADA! hahaha...sorry, i'm just goofin' around. But seriously, could you spare 2-3 camo ones pete? No big deal if your out of em. PM me if you need my information again. Thanks! :USAflag:

So i'm going to be recieving $1000 from my grampa (thanks gramps!) just for the hell of it. My first thought would be to buy a cheap DD and cut the shiet out of the mj and dedicate that to wheeling. BUT I feel like that may be a waste. I instead would like to do something productive with it like invest it...? Or something along those lines. Any recommendations? Afew of you guys know how the world works alittle better than I do, and I wanna know what you'd do with it. Something smarter than a new set of meats (even though i could use em..) Who knows? Maybe I will be the owner of yet another jeep.
-
I always assumed people made trail doors not for protection but for better visability. I'd put some sort of sheet metal over the entire thing so that less rocks n shiet fly into the cab. Lookin good :chillin: Oh and about the TJ flares, how much of ur fender have you cut out? I'm in trouble with the local 5-0 with my fenderless MJ and thought I should do something... darn cops

OME shocks rule. They've been on my rig for 1+ years and they still ride amazing - on and off road. Alittle on the pricey side, but worth it IMO.

Is there a difference between the stock bumper and an FEY one? I bet there is, but i've never seen a stocker up close

Soo.. I've got 2 XJ front seats (a 95 and don't know about the 2nd) and MJ bucket seat brackets. Looking at where I'd have to drill out the XJ brackets, the MJ brackets aren't even close to lining up correctly. I'll get pictures alittle later when it warms up outside ;) Which year(s) of seats work? 87-92? Whose actually been successful at doing this? I'm sick of my bench and also want a center console :brows: If I'm successful at getting buckets into my MJ, i'll be happy to write up some sort of how too on it. I just need alittle guidance first. Oh and I searched too, didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks guys.
