ok could someone tell me what colour the wires are coming out of a 231 on a 91 mj? or if there is one plug or two plugs or what....
thanks

both transmissions are electronic speedo's
its just a matter of me splicing in the plug from the 94 harness to the 91 harness. i just don't know what all the wires do!! if i cross reference a 91 FSM with a 94 FSM ill have it all figured out... only i don't have them!

I have a minor issue with my wiring, i did my trans/case swap today and ran into a little problem.
my 91 2wd mj speedo wiring is different from my 94 xj aw4/231 combo
here is the colour scheme for the wiring:
plug on 91 2wd aw4: 2 wire>
white/orange stripe
black/blue stripe
plug on 91 body harness: 4 wire>
white/orange stripe
black/blue stripe
black/red stripe
black/grey stripe
plug on 94 aw4/231: 5 wire>
orange
black
white/orange stripe
black/blue stripe
black/red stripe
also on my 91 body harness a couple of inches from the 4 wire plug the is a 2 wire plug>
red/black stripe
black
does anyone have a diagram or the knowledge to help me sort this out.
thanks

i have the skyjacker nitros.... supposed to be the right ones. i think it has something to do with the skyjacker kit for MJ's is a spring over arrangement, where mine is still spring under and therefore the shock mount is even lower. i figure i'll just fab up some brackets and weld them on. ill have more ground clearance and more travel too!

I just put on my new shocks the other day and they are pretty much maxed out. i checked the part number and they appear to be the correct shock. so i figured i would just raise the lower shock mount up as they do on the XJ's. only thing i am concerned about is the shock eye is turned 90 degrees from the stock configuration. i was looking at using (or
making) mounts like the JKS Rear Axle Shock Mount. any ideas if this will work ok?

Had a little incedent on my drive home from work on the MJ's maiden voyage as my daily driver. went something like this.... driving along in the fast lane on the highway when i come into some traffic and i go to hit the brakes only I'm not stopping too quickly so i press a little harder and start to swerve into the shoulder and the @$$ end locks up and the pedal hits the floor. i skidded about 300 feet and my rear bumper hits the concrete barrier between the lanes finally coming to a stop. could have written off a couple of cars and the entire side of my manche. came out of it with a scuffed rear bumer end cap and an exploded front flex line. (oh ya and a pile in my shorts!) limped over to a local parts store and capped the hard brake line with brass fittngs (no new lines in stock) blead the line and topped up the fluid and crawled home on 3 brakes. so i ordered a set of stainless lines all around should be back in business tomorrow nite!
what a day!
