I know the computer sci teacher at my local college pretty well. I'll see what he can do if anything. If that doesn't work I suppose I'll try to send an email directly to Autodesk but I don't know how sympathetic they will be...

You didn't pay $500 for yours did you? Poor guy...

you need a real job. hehehe... ;) I've seen someone on NAXJA awhile back with the nicest manche bed trailer following his XJ. Really cool and the paint/wheels matched too. I say do it!! EDIT: couldn't find the pics on NAXJA

Wow primer THEN paint, that's one pampered axle!! Usually for me it's either one or the other.... Nice work man! I wanna see more!

Finally a pic of my chop top '88 long bed bobber

I think I want to see more pics of this thing. pweeetty pweeease :brows: -
Wow... lots of back and forth over this. Simply put: I'm also running the 5.5" XJ kit on my MJ with drop brakets. Angle grinders make it fit :brows: The only way I can see it failing is if you were to install it incorrectly/not torque down the bolts. You would really have to try to make it not work. RE offers a great product and instructions for dummies (like mE!!). After 4-5 years of service and 2 vehicles, my drop brakets are holding up fine. Only complaint about RE was there old 'quick' sway bar disconnects. Now that I think about it, the only thing that didn't fit was the main leave of the RE leave pack. Swap it with your stock MJ main leave and your good to go. Probably won't get as much lift, but a SOA would fix this too. If it's not one thing it's another. Just Empty Every Pocket remeber? Thanks. :chillin:

All I know is that an XJ axle needs more than just new shock mounts welded on it. The spring perches are different widths. (I put my XJ axle in my MJ and my leaves are now FUBAR). I think MJ leaves are 2" wider than XJ...something like that. But you do get more lift because of the SOA set up. BTW why are you swapping a 35? You know those are like grenades with axle shafts? I'm trying to say that it's a weak axle. If your going through the trouble of swapping all this stuff, it may be time to upgrade the rear end. Do a search on that - there are tons of options out there (dana 44 and ford 8.8 being the most popular). I recommend the 8.8

I highly doubt that brush guard would be able to support a roll cage. Maybe try bringing the cage down to the main section of your front bumper, much stronger.

Newbie, just checking in for first time

Welcome! :chillin: I think you got the memo about the beer already. As far as the gauges go, consider yourself lucky that only your temp gauge is wack. ALL of mine are goofed. What's the drawtite leveling system stuff about? Do you have overload springs in the rear? Or just the stock set up? If you raised that @$$ end up (when unloaded) then theoretically it should level out when loaded up - which translate to better steering response. BTW you can go 50-60 in an MJ with a 22' trailer on the back?! I'm jelous. I think Hellwing makes overload springs for jeeps? Never delt with them though. -

Got mine today too pete! Thanks! Magnets look great!

Kinda looks like the grand cherokee brush guards...? I agree it looks great, better than like the ARB bullbar for example, where the brush guard sticks out about a foot.

Great time to make them quick-remove doors!

ditto Is the rear bumper air tight? OBA baby ya! Not sure how much that thing would hold though...
-
Has anyone had a roll bar that has worked with a truck box? I'm sure it would have to be custom...? ehhh maybe not
-
I almost think it's easier and probably cheaper to just swap in an 8.8 with disks on it. Then you get a much stronger axle + disks. But I guess it depends on your axle..which if it's a 35 I wouldn't throw any money into it anyway. A 44 is a completley different story though. Just my opinion So what do you got? BTW this should be in the tech section noobie.

You WILL need a comanche tank if you want it to fit properly.
-
I'm afraid I agree with you too. REPRESENT YO

Are those 15x8 rims w/ 3.75" backspacing? I need new rims and tires, the stockers aren't cutting it (they rub like a mofo on the lower CA)
-
I would have to agree. Flex-fit all the way. And I didn't vote yes because I thought olive green or black would be cooler. Just my 2 peanuts.
-
First paint the whole thing. Then worry about the rocker panel color. :thwak: (BTW dupicolor bedliner is cheap and doesn't 'stain' very easily and it's cheap)

I'll be picking this baby up early next week: 1997 ZJ v8, 44 rear end, black leather (!!!) interior, 3.5" lift, stock bald and goofy tires. The price was right too for the mileage (<122,000)
