why where the "rally" rims 15x6 when most of the others where 15x7?

....that "ten Min. part swap" turns into a multi day ordeal with several trips to the local auto parts store. ....you walk into the auto parts store and they pull up your MJ before you get to the counter ....you walk into the auto parts store and they are shocked that you are working on something other than your MJ ....you walk into the auto parts store and get 20% off everything because you are there more than most of the employees ....you walk into the auto parts store and and they ask what you broke this time... ...when your room mate threatens to tow all your jeeps because they don't run. ...when you threaten to tow your room mate's Audi because he is threatening to tow your MJs. ...when your MJ is running better, drives smoother, and gets better gas mileage than your room mates Audi.... well Blue does anyway... ...you are sitting at Hooters and can't think of anything to talk about other than your MJ....

ax15 fitment question?
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
nearest ax15 searching car-part.com for 1991 XJ M.T.5speed 4x4 from 36541 is 50miles away @ $250.. What would i need to get from that XJ for my 88 MJ? some other prices are from 250 to 800 dollars I keep getting told that someone is buying all the jeep parts from my local JYs... on a side note... not driving the MJ to work would save me about $500 a year on gas... -
how do you posst pics from facebook??
Blue88Comanche replied to freakjeep93's topic in Forum Issues, Ideas, Testing
do you have fire fox? if you do: select your pic so that it is the enlarged picture (not thumbnail) right click on the pic select view page info click on the media tab and for me i need to scroll down towards the bottom of the seledtion and search through the selection till you find your pic ( the type will be image) after you select the picture cope the "location" url and paste it to the comanche club [/img ] thing if you don't have fire fox then sry I can't really help you Edit: I use facebook for all my pics.. my friends and family's news feed is usally cluttered with my uploads of my Jeeps in their various states -
I would like shifter boots for a ba10 (i think there are 3 boots total?) the one fot the tranny it self (mine is no longer, or rather just goop..) the boot for the cab (i guess is to keep the elements out?) and the shifter boot that is seen. if any one has some or can point me in the right direction that would be great!

ax15 fitment question?
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thanks for all the info, unfortunately that was the only ax15 i found with in 200 miles (one way) of where I live.. My mec. says i should stick with the BA/10.. the cost for repairs is going to be about $400 (parts and labor) getting all the shaft seals replaced in the tranny and transfer case, new clutch plate, throw out bearing, and replace the master clutch cylinder. I already have the master cylinder and tried to replace that and was unable to remove the flare nut :fs1: so i am getting the mec. to do that or me. -

well I have had these two alpine 10inch subs and 600 watt planet audio amp for almost 2 years... My uncle and I finally satrted working on the box again. It just needs paint, poly-fill, the the subs put in and its done! My Tranny is still not working, and is going to cost around $400 to get going again.. -
will an ax15 4wd from a 91 wrangler with a 4.0 fit into a 88 MJ that has a 4.0? i found one on craigslist for $150 and i need a new tranny. the only thing they said was wrong is made some noise in 5th. I know that the transmission mount is slightly different but not sure where to get one that would fit. i also know that my current transfer case will not fit.. but i was wanting to get a 242 (that has full time 4wd right?) right now i have a very leaky BA/10 4wd with a busted throw out bearing..

TRUCK!!!! Comanche is a TRUCK :D To answer your question: because I haven't been able to drive my real truck in a LONG time. And thank you ;) I have a new body sitting wrapped up in the garage. I am going to spend my time getting that one to look perfect. Not sure what color to go with. I am thinking Silver. err woops... when i think rc its usually a car or my helicopter... well my helicopter before it crashed :shake:

ya... you are right, I did not think of that... The question should have been: could you hook up a generator or alternator or any other mechanically driven device to use the drive shaft or the drive shaft hook up for "might as well" uses like charging extra batteries or topping off air tanks while on the move.

Looks like mine did.. Image Not Found Image Not Found Why did show us a pic of your rc car!.... Because now I want one too! :D Looks awesome!

Why is it that the last 20% takes 80% of the time?
Blue88Comanche replied to 87Warrior's topic in The Pub
I had to leave my bug free car on the patio for 3 days while I waited for new parts... I now have an army of ants in the car... -

Need Help, Jeeps Tranny Died
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
how does this Look? http://mobile.craigslist.org/pts/2477286958.html "Jeep ax15 manual transmission, 5 speed, 4 wheel drive, came from 91 wrangler with 6 cylinder engine. . Shifts good, makes a little noise when coasting down in 5th. I pulled it out to swap in an automatic. Includes flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, all in good shape, and shifter. Replace your blown up ax15, or use to replace your peugot 5 speed or put behind a four cylinder with an adapter kit from advance adapters. Does not leak" Would I need anything other than the transmission mount.. and where would be a good place to get one? -

Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Its a 2WD... guess I can go without 4WD till i get the ax15.. I just need to get it going again. unfortunately someone has been buying all the Jeep parts from junk yards around and in Mobile County, AL.. and the JYs just over the state line in MS. I did a craigslist search foe "jeep transmission" and nothing that would work came up... -
I have 2 1988 Comanches.. My Primary has a BA10 /w 231 transfer case, the other is a project on stand by with a AW4... both are 4.0 engines. Will the 231 bolt up to the AW4 without problems and what is needed to do the tranny swap.. Right now I can't drive any of my jeeps :help: .. Blue is the jeep that needs the tranny and Red is the parts Jeep.. I would like a console shift if I can get one but will need a parts list if some one can help me with that.. I want to get an AX15 but don't have the money for the swap right now.. So my current option is BA10 to AW4.. And Red does not have an engine so I can't drive it.. Currently don't have any other mode of transportation. I am going to get a local mech to do the swap but I want to get the parts first.. Thanks..
