Hell Creek springs are awesome! I have their MT Springs in the rear and gained a net lift of 4 or so inches.. (keep in mind 23 year old springs) as for the front i have V8 1998 ZJ variable rate coils, and will be getting 1 to 2 inch lift puck.. (to help level it out) I have Pics on Blue's build Thread {edit: 4 inches in comparison from sagging to new, actual lift over stock for my SWB was about 1.5 inches over stock. updated 2-23-15}

I made fun of the over glorified iPod touch too. But then I played with one in Best Buy and had to have it... :shake: I also bought it as a laptop replacement for college, mostly because I used the Internet only at school. 10+ hours of battery life is awesome along with Netflix  I still don't really know why I sold it... I am going to use the money to buy a Willy's Jeep this weekend, so I guess I lost one toy to get another! and if I don't get the Jeep well I am just going to get another iPad. as long as i have a toy I will be happy I love my IPAD and Iphone combo and I am an IT guy. I use Gotodocs and can edit any of my Microsoft Office Docs, I use a cloud sync program called sugarsync and my home computer, work computer, IPAD and Iphone all sync to the cloud, I have 20 gB worth of data I can access from anywhere. When I find myself needing the use of my laptop I use logmein to access my laptop at work or home. The best thing about a tablet is when you travel at the airport the security folks do not make you put it in its own tray or remove the cover. Logmein is the best app ever! I manage 6 computers with it. the new file transfer part is great as well. Both my iPhone and (was my) iPad where jailbroken with some awesome fratures like being able to print from any wireless printer and not just the hp or apple stuff. Ah to be young again, I did things I would never dream of now at 50, growing up in the Navy I scuba dove with sharks, beat them on the snout when they got too close, spearfished and took on morray eels, swatted away sea snakes, but to brave such things and jailbrake my stuff are no longer in my wish list. There are new apps coming out all the time to do many cool things, but in my old age I am now a chicken! I like keeping the option of going to the genius bar at the apple store and have them fix something I broke.I salute your youth and bravery  hehe while the jailbreakme.com site was still working I jailbroke my iPhone 4 in the AT&T store :rotfl2: ... I was also offered a job by the store manager... had I not have been starting college and live an hour away I might would have taken the job.. a lot of the Jailbreak apps came before apple actually thought "that was a great idea why didn't we do that in the first place"... (well that what i like to think any way) like backgrounds, multitasking and folders on the 3g and 3gs.. there are still features that the iPhone lacks that the jailbreak community has. and because "Droid Does" apple should get into the game. if they offered the basic features like background pictures I most likely would not have jailbroken my iPhones.

For some reason I sold my beloved iPad... The original plan was to get the iPad 2, THEN sell the iPad 1... well now I guess I will wait till I can get the iPad 2 in a few weeks... I am felling a little depressed.. No one on facebook really thought I sold it so thats shows how much I liked it.. and I used it all the time, everyday... and now i am stuck with my laptop... Guess Red needs an engine and I still want to get that M38A1 saturday. so maybe selling it was Fate punching me in the gut to remind me that I have some unstarted projects that need money! lol Well thats my depressing post for the day. :shake:

Well project goal Changed... Looks like I will be sticking to the I-6. Dad wants a straight six bored and stroked instead of a V8. -
what shocks to use?
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thanks, my search for "shocks" turned up nothing really helpful -
I swapped the spring on my Jeep not too long ago.. and now it sits 3 to 5 inches higher.. I forgot to measure before the spring swap... I have new Hell Creek MT spring in the rear and New v8 ZJ variable rate springs in the front, and I need to add a 2 inch spacer in the front to help make it closer to level.. I do mostly Road driving so I am told Hydro shocks would be better for a smoother ride, but don't last as long as Nitro shocks that are stiffer and would better for off road. I do like to go off roading but it has been a few months sense last trip. I would like some input on what brand, what type, and how long the shocks should be. I don't know If these pictures will help but here is a before and after of the new springs.. I don't have the 2 inch spacer for the front yet. here is another before pic Thanks

1988 5.9L Magnum V8 Comanche
Blue88Comanche replied to terrawombat's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you don't mind me asking how much did you snag the 5.9L engine for? and it came with a tranny? I may be changing my V8 plans again due to lack of JY engines.. I found a 5.9 on craigslist and wanted to get an idea of how much they are worth. Thanks, -
1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer 4X4 4.0 I6 / AX-15 / NP242 / Dana 30 / Dana 44 / Short Wheelbase Build date: (its on the driverside door sticker, in the form of month and year)... Ya... thats not there anymore... Current Location: Grand Bay, Alabama Status: My first Truck and I am happy it was a Jeep! Still runs great... Well the A/C does not work... Hell Creek MT leaf springs and V8 ZJ variable rate coil springs and spacers to help level it out. Drives smooth er than our KJ and gets better gas mileage too. It is currently my Daily Driver/ Work Truck/ Off Road Toy/ Car Show Truck. Notes: Leaky BA-10 5 speed, Leaky Clutch, leaky A/C, and a leaky passenger door... The BA-10 transmission was replaced with an AX-15 with a NP242 on 10-11-11. I have a Full gauge cluster and love it, bucket seats, XJ full console, 1000 Watt power inverter, and will eventually have two 10 inch subs. After I fix the leak in the passenger side I am going to get some carpet put in to finish the "stock" look. The exterior has been repainted a total of three times, this last time I had the guy pull the paint Color Code so it should be factory but IDK for sure. I also had rhino liner sprayed in the bed, in the cab, on the flairs, and on the rocker panels. Has a Warn Trans4mer Grille Guard with Brush Guards and Winch Carrier. I am thinking about swapping the bumper from Red over to Blue because it looks cooler, that bumper is steel has Gulf Coast Jeep Eagle Mobile AL pressed or engraved in to it. Current owner: I am the second owner (technically speaking) but officially the third. My Grandfather was the First owner. All of his sons wanted the Jeep but he would not give it to them, But after I got my Drivers License he gave me the keys!! Lets just say everyone on my dad's side of the family wanted that Jeep, and I got it!

How did Jeep get it code names? MJ, XJ, ZJ, TJ, JK, and so on... Why where they given those code names? Just something I always wondered..

Have you checked the clutch for a leak around the fuse box? Mine leaks there onto the fuses, thus melting them.... :shake:

The wipers work just not the delay part... Guess I could get that box out of Red.. What are the odds that I had 2 bad delay boxes?

LOL thats the plan :brows: I saw a ZJ for sale across the street from where I work might go see if it has a V8. Most of the wiring for the 4.0 was cut out when the last owner was removing the engine.. so i get to rewire no matter what engine goes in.. -
i already swapped that little thing out... i wish i could test it in Red but the last owners cut all the wireing in the engine bay while removing the engine
-
How do i remove the wiper/turn signal switch? I am trying to trouble shoot why the intermittent part of my wipers don't want to work.

Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
so I parked Blue by Red and saw that Red was higher in the front... I started to freak out a little then remembered that Red has no engine... -
i would bleed the clutch line, if that does not work check the oil level in the tranny... my ba/10 leaks oil and when it is low its a pain to get into gear...

New MJ Owner: Tons of questions
Blue88Comanche replied to MJCrusader's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As far as replacing then it should be very easy. I replaced mine when I installed my new springs. Just remove the top nut from the link, then remove the bottom one (I had to use a pipe wrench on the head of the bottom bolt to get the rust broken off.)
