everything is hard to find down here... I will be driving 200 miles to get that tranny.. But a TC drop will work, or a cross member for the NV3550 should work.. :thumbsup: thanks i will keep a look out

I found a ax15 tranny from a 1989 Comanche, but the JY does not have the tranny mount or cross member. is there a way I can get around this? I had the ba10 and I hear the ax15 sits about an inch lower.. can I put a spacer on my current cross member as a temporary fix till I can get the correct cross member? or is there a better way to get around that problem.. does anyone have one i can buy? as for the Comanche the JY crushed it not too long ago, or so I was told :(

so because one could use the 2001 xj fenders and grille on a 1988 MJ... I guess there should not be any issue to use a 1988 mj fenders and grille on a 2001 xj? i have been thinking about getting a 2001 or so XJ but wanted it to match my blue MJ.. I was thinking about swapping the fenders from my red MJ to the potential XJ... should work without any issues right?

I have the factory skid plate package i guess i like it.. 89eliminator how on earth did you manage that?

I got that grille guard on sale.. For around 450.. The brush guards and winch carrier where extra at about 100$ each... I love it I get to keep the "stock" look and have a functional winch mount if I want (when I can get a winch).. It was easy to put on assuming your MJ hasent had any run in with deer... Or two.... And thus bent the bumper brackets at some time.

woops.. I seem to have about 15 gallon tank? i can't remember what the sizes are but i know i put in 12 gal. to fill it up usually.. ... i want a 23 gallon tank.. lol :yes: not to be a smart a.. but 225 miles / 19.5 MPG = 11.5 Gallons .. which is usually about when i fill up because i am nearly at empty thus one tank

you looking for a new bumper for looks or for a winch? or would you want a grille guard for looks or a winch? I have the WARN Trans4mer grille guard and like it

i was getting about 19.5 MPG average.. and about 210-230 miles per tank.. thats with a 4.0 and a BA10 /w 231 TC and 225/75R15... don't know the axle gears..

they Will nail you when you use it... or at least AT&T will.. my dad and i had a warning sent via text and they have some way .. or so they say.. to detect it... however dad using an average of 27 of GIGS or so monthly...for the last six months.. it doesn't take a trained monkey to know that somethings up... and dad thought they would not catch on... now they took both of us off the "unlimited" plan and onto the 2 gig tethering... I stopped tethering on my first warning dad did not... now i get to keep track of data while i listen to Pandora to and from work... that sucks..

you can pretty much do anything or go anywhere with a clipboard.. and if you have a hard hat too that just makes things easier..

:hijack: If you can... don't use comcast... they suck! I have a business account with them, 19 TVs, Internet, and phone.. one would think that Business Class accounts would get good customer support... well I don't :headpop: ... and they are not willing to get our current issue worked out (15 TVs no longer have service because of comcast)... you Will need a cable box for all your tvs, because they are encrypting the channels.. :mad: you also get to pay "rent" on any additional boxed after the first box. I am 20 and got my own auto insurance last year from Geico and pay about $64 monthly for my Blue 4wd 88 Comanche... (in Mobile, AL.. With only one of my Jeeps.. the others aren't drivable so i don't have them insured) If i where to add another Comanche it would be about 105 monthly for me any way..

Did you get the donor from craigslist or a JY? Craigslist. humm.. :hmm: people down here want too much for their jeeps... I don't really want to pay $1K for a jeep just to get a tranny... at that rate ebay had some for $500 ish with free shipping

If I did get it and was to the point of repaint, I might try to do it myself at my uncles garage. I will take a look at it so see if it has just and where.

the interior was in "good" to "ok" shape... I just thought it was cool and wanted to post it on CC.. I might buy it or (most likely) may not. it would be neat to play with and try to fix up.. he might even let me work in it if i wanted... I guess I will ask while I help him clean his recently acquired firearm arsenal... no joke, bunch of guns... :yes:

well I guess that the term "rare" also apples to the region you are in.. its hit or miss if i can fond a Comanche on craigslist (lower AL, MS, and west FL).. or at least my searches say so.. I have seen 3 other Comanches around town in pretty poor shape.

so how about another fixer-uper?

I spend 3 house at work yesterday looking for a transmission... that apparently no one in the area "nearest is about 200 something miles"... and spent a hour today still looking for a tranny... looks like i will be doing a auto swap... :ack:

well... i can't seem it find the transmission I want.. i can find it in 2wd.. but not 4wd.. I just did a search for the 4wd AW4 and what do you know... 16 of them with in 100 miles most of them less than 50 miles away... I may end up just doing a auto swap if i can't find what i want.. I know some where some one posted a drive shaft length chart. IF, and hopefully not... i end up doing a auto swap would my drive shafts be the same length? thanks

assuming i go with the TJ tranny how would i fix or "get around" the transfer case clock position.? and do i need to keep my transmission cross member for the tranny mount or is it different from the ba10 to the ax15

So the TJ ax15 is the same as the XJ? I thought there was a slight fitment issue. also was the AX made in a six speed? my friends wrangler has a six speed i think.

just finished calling all 17 local auto salvage yards. none have a 4wd ax15.. just ONE 2wd ax15.. looks like i will be racking up a 200 mile road trip to get a tranny... where can I order a transmission mount or cross-member for an aX15.. none of the JY Here have any..
