  1. That thing is sweet. I’m afraid of the financial damage that I’ll be stricken with if I start looking for pre 70s audio equipment. I am looking forward to making a record dig/find thread when I start frequenting my record shop again.
  2. The way that I see it, the people that are willing and able to donate WILL donate but that’s likely an incredibly low subset of people. Adding incentives will only help as to bring the average user that would otherwise not donate to help out. Fundraisers for school events or Girl Scouts or something are incredibly successful in real life, so I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with it. Fundraiser show that, even if the buyer knows they’re buying overpriced stuff, they’re at least getting something while also supporting that organization. It’s a win-win. I’m taking 18 hours in school, working full time paying rent and a mortgage. It’s hard for me to justify just giving my money away in the situation I’m in right now, but it’s a little more justifiable if I’m getting some stickers or a little trinket. I just have trouble seeing the difference between your model and just asking for donations. No malice either, I’m just trying to reason. I would be willing to bet that Pete has gotten more money from stickers and posters than just straight up donations (unless some wealthy benefactor has donated a bunch of money to him at one point, but I would consider that a fringe case)
  3. In order of importance: 1. Driver side sun visor 2. sun visor clip 3. door handle bezel (no power anything) 4. steering column cover
  4. How does this model differ from simply asking people to donate when/if they can?
  5. I thought I was crazy for a second. I didn't think the charcoal could get much lighter gray in color lol
  6. Yeah one of the first things I'm doing when I move my records into the house is taking the time to log them on my discogs. I've gotten to the point where I sometimes don't remember if I actually bought a record or I just saw it and listened to it at the record shop. Multiple times I've bought a duplicate or missed out on something I really needed Wow those panasonic units look strikingly similar to my Mitsubishi! Brushed aluminum, woodgrain, same rectangular buttons, and the same dials. Goes to show how popular that look was in the 80s. Any pictures of the Victrola?
  7. Do they happen to be from a charcoal jeep? I'm looking for a few odds and ends if so.

    HI-Fi CCers?

I thought I’d see if I had any fellow Hi-fi/analog audio enthusiasts here. sadly my entire stack, records, and cassettes are back home right now. That’s one of the things I’m most excited for when I move back. I know the presentation in this picture isn’t particularly impressive. This was when I still had my audio stuff with me in my old apartment 3 years ago. Once I’m in my house, it will look much nicer. Pictured is: Technics SL-Q200 auto start/stop turntable Akai GX-73 3 head tape deck Some crap multi-disc CD player from goodwill Mitsubishi DA-R10 audio receiver Pair of KEF 103.2 speakers I don’t have a good picture of all my records but I think I’ve collected well over 300. The bulk of it is 70s-80s funk/soul but I do have quite a bit of 60s-70s psychedelic and jam rock. Lots of jazz and fusion from 50s-70s, some electronic/EDM, a bit of rap.
  9. One more slick tire and you've got a bonafide race car right there
  10. That's why I like the incentives for donation that Pete has like the stickers/magnets/posters. What about some more items? Maybe some handcrafted stuff from our resident hobby crafters? I think I've seen one guy make a Comanche clock for another member. I know the logistics of balancing production cost and profit with the site kickback would be complicated but I'd be happy to support a member and the site simultaneously while also getting a cool trinket/craft. Just a thought.
  11. Someone's gotta pick up those door panels. If I had more spare money lying around for stuff I don't need then I'd pick em both up.
  12. That's some high quality pipeage
  13. Thanks for this one! I now raise you one of my favorite renditions of another Bob Wills classic:
  14. That Western swing has really been hitting the spot lately
  15. Great to know. I’m on the list but haven’t gotten a call yet. I don’t need a SU right now but I may pick one up just to have a replacement later. Thanks for the heads up.
  16. Meanwhile it's 70 degrees and sunny in South Texas. It's looking pretty likely right now that spring out here will start early February
  17. I was stuck between posting this song and hot rod lincoln! I’m seeing them in Spicewood TX in April
  18. Western swing ain't dead. It's asleep at the wheel
  19. That's a great idea. I didn't even think about reusing mirrors from other mopar junk. How do you get power to the map light?
  20. Mine looks the exact same as yours! I've had a new mirror on my to-do list but it's good to know about the aftermarket mirror being an issue. I may also have to source an OEM or at least find a solid reputable aftermarket piece. Good luck on the search.
  21. Welcome and well done on the purchase! I say that the price you paid is more than fair for the spec you have. I paid $5000 for my 2x4 4.0 AW4 eliminator with ~173k for reference, which I think was also a fair price for the condition.
  22. I do wish the current designs had the "all jeep comanche, all the time!" subtext on it. just the website feels a little too plain imo
  23. Man y'all have a lot of cars. Looks great
  24. I think I know the answer but is this design still available to purchase? I would buy so many of these for work shirts lol
