  1. Your link is broken  That second one is in alot worst shape, bad box/body rust. Good news, has about 1/2 the milage, but could be in worst shape. That will go for alot less, but expect alot of work to be done on that one. And if you need some of the interior parts, I'll be pulling a Burgundy interior out of a '86X ;) That will get rid of the stick holding up the head liner ;) Yea, that one will bring 300-500 at auction end, but then expect alot of $$ back in to it, plus the body work and paint.
  2. mj-645 - If you are close to where the MJ sits, take a ride over and check it out, one of the bad things for e-bay, to far away to check the vehical out sometimes. To be honest, that auction will end early with the buy it now price, the price of the MJ's are going up. The condition of that MJ, with the new parts and the new paint job, it will re-sell for more that the buy it now price. The milage is a little high, so check out the blow-by. I lafted about the gas tank O-ring, the guy could have installed it by the time he explained the problem  If you really want a good looking MJ, with the drive train set up it has, then bite the bullet and use the buy it now, cause it won't last the week. I've brought up 2 MJ's from that area, and the rust was minimal. If the guy has if for sale local, you could take a ride, look at it, and make him an offer on the spot, and save a couple of $$ and drive it home :D Don't wait too long on that, if you want it. I know some people that paid more that the buy it now price for there MJ's. I just seen a guy pay 1600 for a rusted MJ up here. It will not last the week. Just to give you an Idea on what the prices are going, check this site out- http://jeep.autoextra.com/model/comanche Good Luck :D
  3. Totally agree with the 2-tone paint job :D I picked up a '87 with the blue/silver and it's starting to grow on me, I like the looks of it, really accents the body lines of the MJ. Nice job Mike
  4. Yea.....good progress on it from the "before" picture  I know you spent a lot of time getting that back togetter, and it looks good, keep up posted :D
  5. Welcome to the ComancheClub :waving: Good little project you got there  I replyed to your "cab corner" over in Classifed.

    Comanger????

Bob - Welcome to the ComancheClub :waving: :jump: Glad you came on, there's been alot of interest on your project, and I hope you don't mind the name I gave it  I'm sure you will get some other's looking for answers on how your project went, with fitting the Ranger step side on the MJ. Also, I have not said anything about how you came up with cap corners, and I think you should just jump out there and explain how you solved that problem too. You'll notice things are pretty relaxed around here, not like some of the main line boards, most of us just try to do the same thing you did, and that's to preserve the Comanche ;) If you get over in the hood again, take a look in the back yard, and had to move a couple of MJ's over here, and there are 4 of them here now, still acouple over at the shop, and stop in the shop some day on your way down Broadway :brows:
  7. Eagle - Thanks for clearing up the term "factory" vs. "prototype's" Also, in that same picture you mentioned, I count a 5 leaf pack plus the helper, all that I've ever seen are 3 leaf pack w/helper on SWB and 4 leaf packs w/helper on LWB, both D35 and D44's. That's got to be one tough ride. I also would say the brake lines do not have the original look to them, going over the axel  Jared makes a good point with the rear flares too, would be tough in a parking lot too :D
  8. I wrote that because it would be easyer to change out the entire dash, getting the guages, all the wiring, the ECU and TCU from the '92 Xj you have, to save alot of problems down the road with the +'91 engine wiring harness, if you want to craw under the dash to do this, fine, but 4 bolts, couple screws and you have the complete dash sitting on a work bench :brows: You can re-use your MJ dash, and just change out the harness on the bench, better that laying on the floor boards. Also the old door jamb switches, are not plug and play with the +91 harness, and the XJ cargo harness needs to be "tied" into the rear light harness (under the driver's seat) so your not working under the dash. Hardrock, I seen that you did this, but did your MJ ever run?? So you couldn't tell if anything was working right or not, plus you didn't have a TCU to deal with, having the BA10.
  9. I 2X this  We had this discussion a year ago, when that same truck was posted on e-bay, the guy selling it about 2 months after he bought it on e-bay. I'm not saying your wrong jeepco, But I don't think a dually ever came out of the factory, and the part manual I have don't show anything about the wheel adaptor, or fender, or nothing. We had a Ford dealer around here, well still around, and 12-15 years ago, he was selling brand new 6 door pick-up trucks, yea, double crew cabs, and he order them and they were built by Century. They also made alot of custom vans, and this was just a "after market" type truck. The wheel adapters for Budd rims, you could buy thru JC Whitney years ago (Yea, I'm showing my age ;) ) That's like the step side that I posted, if I were to do one, and use a MJ tail gate, and post it on e-bay as a one of a kind, only one built in 1993 and had a starting bid of $15K, after 4-5 re-listings, I would find a sucker.....a....er....buyer for it :D We all around here know better, but the "car collectors" on e-bay don't know, and would even jump on it to $50K. Hey, I got to go, I got a new project cooking.......be right back.
  10. Keep an eye on e-bay for the clutch master, I picked a new one up last year for I don't think over $30 w/shipping just for a stock/spair.

    Comanger????

The Dually - didn't some one have one on e-bay last year??? Was out in CA. Clamed it was a factory dually  Yea, this step side looked really good, and the owner told me how easy it fit on the uni-frame.
  12. I would jump on that one before you got over there this weekend :brows: Has been repainted, I'm sure there has been some body work done, but craw under it and check out the bottom of the floor pans, and check the frame at the spring purches, see if there is all rust scale on the frame, or some factory paint still on it. While your under there, see if the bottom is clean, or covered in oil/grease. Mileage is a little high, but well taken care of, 300K + on them 4.0's And do the old, here $600 cash......then work up from there ;) '92 was the last year, and there getting harder to find, and the prices are going up on them. Oh......And Welcome to the ComancheClub :waving:
  13. Aren't they all :teehee:

    Comanger????

I heading home tonight, and 3 doors down the street, I see this, turn around and good thing I had the camera with me, cause you guys would not believe me, So feast your eyes on this - And yes, that is the '91 model year Step Side :teehee: So......the owner comes out, and we get talking, and he never knew there was a ComancheClub........where's the mag cards when I need one?? I filled him in, and he should be joining here shortly :D I'll let him explain all the details to that step side Comanche This is the same one that I was seeing last year, and tonight, I got close to it :brows: And yes, I told him that I would find him a new rear bumper.

    nervous

    Oizarod115 - Congratulations :jump:
  16. Go for it, don't even think twice, what you waiting for, didn't you buy it yet??? I would say that the body has to be almost perfect, compaired to the rust outs I see up here, selling for the same price. I'd jump right on that one :brows: And like you said, you have a newer drive train for it, and convert it to 4wd. Pingpong is right, a complete change over of Every thing is needed to upgrade to the '92, even the complete dash. Just follow CEThomas on his conversion. There will be problems, but in the end, you'll have a nother fine Comanche
  17. Your right I forgot that there is just a rod that hits the dimmer switch on the bottom of the column. I'll see if I can find which relay is for the headlights, and where.
  18. Maybe, Rob lives on a bus line
  19. It's sounds like when you install the bulbs, it's back feeding thru the bulb and killing the power, that would put you back to the source, the dimmer, or smart switch. Your closing the loop with the bulb. Using both the MJ and XJ harness's and bulbs would tell you that. The harness and bulbs are both good, back to the source. There has to be a problem with one of the switches, or change out the relay and see if the relay is bad, struck in the "closed" position. You had said that cleaning the smart switch solved a couple other problems, correct? There could be a pinched wire some place that could be causing your problem too. Lots of parts moving around.
  20. Rob - I have hear about the Grayhound shipping, have not used them, But I though that you need to go to a terminal to drop off / pick-up. If they deliver to your door, then that's a good deal.
  21. I'll 3X's that :brows:
  22. Al shucks.......and I was going to ask if the bulbs were any good, Man, you took all the fun out of that. The head light relay should be in the Power Distribution Center. I'm thinking this, you got a '88 steering column, with a '88 smart switch, and I'm thinking that the flash to pass is also the high beams, you said when you pull the switch, you have flash to pass, but that should lock on for the high beams too. So, you have the flash to pass, but no head light, low or high beam, and we talked about this, did you change out the head light switch?? When you tested the sockets, did you ground the meter on the body, or at the ground in the socket. I ask this cause you might not have the socket grounded. Man......I know as much about your MJ as you do, and your 300 miles away ;)
  23. I just double checked and the part number are the same for a '88 and '95. Part #5533116 So I would say there the same pump. What condition is the radiator in, could you have blockage in it???
  24. Are you asking about a phase converter > 3 Phase to 1 Phase???? http://www.phaseconverter.com/ You should be able to get a new one for under $500, and check your Craigslist, I've seen them posted in there.
  25. Sir Fuego - Welcome to the ComancheClub :wavey: Glad to see you aboard  I don't know if you can say I " sent " you, it's more like draged you over here :D
