  1. 2X on the ignition switch. You said the key is stuck in the switch?? could be causing your problem. Start the truck, and "jiggle" the key / switch around to see if it shuts off. If it's just bad enough, you hit a bump in the road, and that causes the switch to move, causing the "run" position to skip out of place. The key switch is actually connected to a rod that slides down the steering column to the bottom where the ignition switch is located, check the movement of the rod, and the plug connector at that switch.
  2. I like the Easy fixes :D
  3. Yea, by 2 seconds.......I should not have proofed before I hit submit
  4. The T-case shifter does not run off the vacuum, it's "hand" operated, when you shift into 4wd Hi or 4wd Low, that operates the vacuum switch on the transfer case to the front disco / 4wd dash light. Did you try to move the lever to the right (passenger side) to get past the "dog" on the lever housing to shift into Neutral / 4wd Low??? If you did, then the linkage needs adjusting. You can shift on the fly from 2wd to 4wd HI, and back, but you MUST come to a full stop to shift into 4wd Low.
  5. Here's some info if you need to know what spring goes where and such ;) http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Sus ... ervice.htm
  6. Yea, I'll agree with the T-case chain  But I would first check the trans mount to the motor, all bolts good and tight, and then check the flex plate to the torque converter, (them dang 4 screws can come loose)
  7. What transmission are we talking about??? Auto or manual???
  8. Yup - http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9295
  9. :agree: There's a lot of truth it that. :rotfl2:
  10. Gravity bleeding is not the best way to bleed the brakes. The best way is to 'power bleed' but who has the equipment :dunno: I aways have success with the tube from the bleeder into a bottle, end of the tube submerged in brake fluid, and loosen the bleeder, fully pump the peddle 5-6 times, close the bleeder, add fluid to the master, and do the next wheel. And you can do this your self ;)
  11. Does it sound like it's coming from the front of the engine?? If so, check your harmonic balancer, inspect it, and if the rubber is out pass the pulley....... A U-joint wouldn't make any noise if your at idle....standing still.
  12. You mean this stuff??? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDeta ... yCode=2132 It's great, no move sore finger working a metal tube :D You can lay a pencil tip bead with no problems :brows: And it has more oz's than 3 tube, and costs less.
  13. After you back off the adjusters, the drum some times 'rust welds' to the axle hub, if you use just a propane torch and run a some heat on the drum, around the hub and the lug bolts, the drum will "pop" off ;)
  14. Yup...... The requested URL http://www.paintscratch.com/ is infected with Trojan-Spy.HTML.Fraud.gen virus Don't Click It!!!!! And get this - Kaspersky Anti-Virus ;)
  15. I don't build furniture for and living (Any more) and used tons of Red Oak, But for outside mill work, White Oak is the species that you want to use. Black Walnut is also good, any hard wood that is "Closed Grain" is good for outdoor projects. Red Oak is "Open Grain" Sample of White Oak on an out "door" project. These were built last November. My 2-cents, I don't like it, It holds up for ever, but it don't have the look like a real deck, and the cost of it, you can replace a wood deck every 20 years and be ahead $$ Plus it's very slippery when wet.
  16. I've never had good luck with saving the J-bolts, so I just cut them off (with a hack saw = No Sparks) and take 3/8" X 6" carriage bolts, heat and bend the bolt 90* to the 'square head', grind the top portion of the head a little to fit in the keyhole slot, and there are new hanger bolts, couple washers and nylon lock nuts. :D Another thing it to siphon out as much gas as you can before you take the tank down/out. An empty tank only weights about 18 pounds (lwb) Redid my math- SWB - 18.5 gallon tank X 6 pounds per gallon = 111 pounds net LWB - 22.5 gallon tank X 6 pounds per gallon = 141 pounds net
  17. Does anyone have any opinions on using plumber's strap to hang a tank? Good or bad. Very Bad Idea  Plumber's roll is about 1/3 the thickness of the tank straps, also with all the 'holes' in the roll, weakens the steel even more. If your straps are really gone, you can get new ones for >$30 here- http://www.rockauto.com/ Don't forget, 20.5 gallons of gas @ 8 pounds per gallon = 164 pounds  Hate to see you loose a full tank going down the road.......ah, er....should say, I don't want to be near your truck when your tank falls off :headpop:
  18. those lines are rubber hoses, that you can just get off the back shelf at Advance, just take a piece in, and tell them how many feet you need. I just looked in the FSM and didn't find anything on the sizes, it's going to be just take a piece out and size it up.
  19. I'm working on it, CRL just bought out the company we were using for glazing supply's, and I'm little busy this week, but I'm trying to get my account set up with them. When I do, I'll check the price and the order amount. And the availability of the rear slider. If I got to buy 50, I guest I be on e-bay
  20. Your link did not work correct, but I found it, yea, plastic lines in 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" and 1/4", now you just need to find what size you need  If by chance you need 5/32" I have a half of 500 foot roll here, that I could sent you a bunch. PM me. Its clear nylon. I use it on a door device I install. The thing is, you need to carefully remove the existing line to save all the fittings.......You might find the fittings on the "Help" section at Advance???
  21. :rotf:
  22. Pete!!!! I need some more CC stickers :D
  23. The only way them wheels and tires look good on anything is to add curb feelers..........On Both sides :D
  24. You can just use some "heat shrink" tube to repair the broken line. I don't think any one sells the lines anymore???
  25. I agree with Pete, that's way too much for a 2.5, 4 speed  2wd. It looks nice, nice NEW paint job, cause where's the side decals??? But what is the new paint hiding???? Unless the owner has gone thru the entire vehicle, like redone all the brake lines, and brakes, and replaced all the seals, in other words, "re-built" it, it's not worth that kind of $$$ I would say, Keep looking, you'll find one :D
