  1. I know!! I looked at those when I was looking for mounting solutions...but alas like you pointed out, I have no molding.
  2. haha! No, if it was show quality I would have made a neat little spot for it in the dash. It would have fit nicely where the stock clock is (to the right of the gauge cluster) but I have my transmission controls there.
  3. Then I can't see the speedo/tach. I tried it there already...but I didn't like it. I don't really care about aesthetics with this truck. The bed sides have been done in. The passenger door has been "massaged" by a few trees, and its only going to get "better." I like the gauge where it is because its really easy to see...and thats all I care a bout. Here's what the truck is used for...I guess you can call it a trail rig. At least I think it looks rather clean. It could be worse. ;)
  4. Have a 79 Ford HP44 front and 60 rear, sold the tranny and T-case. I'm only spending $250 on the axle. Out of an F250 I hope. I know the Bronco 44's had the cast wedges on...so they're hard to use with an MJ suspension. If you already have the hosing, then go for it! Just upgrade the axle shafts to alloys...then you can do 37"-28" tires. TnT sells a weld on truss that will make installation really easy! Are you going to use the 60 rear? Planning to upgrade to 35 spline axles? You're going to have to bore out the spindles to accept 1.5" shafts. The stock 60 shafts are probobly 1.31" 30 spline shafts, which are the exact same as D44 shafts. ;)
  5. If you're going to spend $3k on a 44, you might as well just get a 60. I found a 1979 Ford 60 for $650 locally. Its sitting outside, waiting for $$$ to swap it in.

    funny email

It took me a minute to realize that you're refering to a burglar. I thought you meany have people over for dinner. I couldnt figure out why your wife would want to shoot them.
  7. I'd try a thermostat. Or maybe your heater core is plugged? Sorry Mitch, I know nothing about heaters/
  8. I'd say rust...but you're in GA. Just take a peek underneath to see if there's rust. Maybe it came from up north. If there is any significant rusting...walk away.
  9. Can he get pics for you?
  10. Thats a good story Eagle. It made me laugh 8)
  11. Here's mine. Made from steel from a scrap yard, and plumbing pipe. And here are pics of it off the truck when I was painting it.
  12. Outside view. Inside view.
  13. I don't think that will be an issue Twisty. Typically thermister temp sensors have a total resistance of 300 ohms across the scale, in your case 100* - 250*. Even the XJ/MJ dash SPST switches like the POWER/COMFORT switch has a resistance of less than two ohms, and that's if it's dirty. And the tolerance on the gauge itself is about + or - 3*, so it won't matter. Interesting. Thats something I didn't know. Thanks for the info Hornbrod!!
  14. I hate that guy with a very strong passion.
  15. Another thing to add. If anyone is going to use 2 temp sensors (one for output, and one for input) and have a switch betwen them...it might be an issue. These gauges read resistance from the sending unit, and unless you have a 0 ohm switch...its going to interfere with the gauge reading the ACTUAL temp.
  16. Yeah, it could a little. The pinion gear can be walking in and out on the ring gear, and making them act funny.
  17. Is your pinion nut loose?
  18. Got my gauge today. I'm going to drop the oil pan this weekend and put the drain plug/sensor in. Too bad its going to snow........again  :headpop: Its pretty spiffy, and I'm excited to see whats happening.
  19. Hey there :waving:
  20. Theres a guy in my club with a YJ frame/tub and a CJ nose/fenders. He has a schweet built 401 pushing a HP D44, shaved D60 and 36" Iroks. Def a sweet machine.
  21. good cause I hate when I'm on other forums I'm part of and something like "car" or "intake" is highlighted and underlined like a link and it pops up a small lil ad selling bodykits or something ghey like that.. Just go with the K.I.S.S. philosophy on this one.. I hate having to scan through a bunch of ad's on the side and top too... esp the animated ones... my A.D.D. kicks in real good,,,,, And then you accidently mouse over the little link, and a window pops up, and you can't get rid of it, and the only way to do so, is to click on it, which opens up a new window which you don't want to see, then you have to close it, and a pop-up pops up..........
  22. In Mass, there is only ONE spot for the owner to sign the vehicle over. The names on the front of the title, and on the back MUST match. Then again...it is Mass we're talking about
  23. We can't complain! I've been to many free sites that have really obnoxious advertisments plastered everywhere. This board is nice and clean :brows: .
  24. The area between the seats on mine would get really hot! I later found out that it was caused from a transfer case with very low fluid levels. After I topped it off, it only got warm. The trans tunnel gets hot, but only when wheeling. One I had my cat leak hot exhaust up under the passanger seat, and burn the paint off of the floor, and melt a CD!! :redX:
