88 MJ, 4.0, AW4, yadda yadda...not stock, but the brakes are. I can't get the passanger side front to bleed. The drivers side will just fine, but nothing from the passanger side. I thought there was a clog, so I took a bicycle pump, and pumped air through the line. I did this at BOTH ends. I took the rubber line off at the passy side, and pumped air up to the master...which bubbled. I tried to bleed...nothing. Then I took the line dirrectly out of the master, and pumped air through there, and it went just fine. I hooked the line back up to the master, got a few bubbles, then nothing. I've tried the master cylinder from my parts XJ, didnt work. I bench bled the thing...still wouldnt work. My next thought is the splitter that the master leads into...but if I can get air through it, then why can't I get fluid through it? Clog? Is there a valve in there that can go bad? I have a wheeling trip in 1 week, and I need to get these brakes working. The front flex lines, calipers, pads, and rotors are very new. The rear brakes are 100% brand new from the backing plates to the drums. I don't know what to do. Any ideas???

Good god I would love to be able to recall that kind of info from the top of my head  -
gad zooks. I bet you are  :hateputers: :headpop: right now. Sorry dude.

What about using leafs from Tater salad? Take out the third leaf to lower the rear a little...you could do it for cheap. I re-built my MJ leaf springs using parts from an XJ spring....for free.
-
Use shorter rear springs, with a combo of a TC drop. That might get you another inch on the slip yoke. When I had my drive shaft re-tubed, it was $120. Retubing a LWB rear DS, and new u-joints. It was very reasonable. But I know what you mean about being broke. I need to to ball joints......and I just can't afford them now. You'll get it done. I was in a crisis with my MJ the morning that I was supposed to leave to go wheeling. I had to build a bumper, attach a skid plate, and bumpstops. Good luck Pat. You've put TONS of good work into this truck, and it looks great!

My MJ has been stalling lately...especially when starting from a stop. I thought it was TPS...but now I am wondering if its a fuel pump problem.

dude, are those TLT axles? Those are pretty cool man. I love that Willys.

rccrawler.com I have an Emaxx that is built to the hilt. Brushless motor, UE diffs, GA bulks, UE shock towers, Ofna shocks...etc. But I need a $200 motor speed control. You can build a custom tube chassis out of brake line, and solder. Looks pretty fun/cool.

Nice work 1999. That MJ looks VERY sharp. I wish I had the time/resources to take my bed off. -
I think a sub-forum in the classifieds would be a good place to put feed back. If somone has a good transaction with Pat (JeepcoMJ) they could create a thread titled "JeepcoMJ A+ Seller". If there was a single thread, searching through it to find a specific member might get to be a hassle, especially if the thread is 10+ pages long. :dunno:

2" back spacing is massive! It looks great though. I'm tempted to do a leaf swap when I get a new front axle. It looks like a fun project. -
I got my T&T tracbar today. Its really nice!! I just need to get some rustoleum...then its going in!

Where to get rear shocks?
Twisty replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I bought my front shocks from Quadratec. They were the Skyjacker Hydro shocks....and honestly, I'm pleased with them. They were about $32 each, and arrived at my door 4 days after placing the order. With my SOA, I was able to retain the stock shocks...and they work well at 6.5". All I did was raised my mount on the axle tube. You can also look at the Monroe catalog. Eagle says that you can get what you need from there. I tried to understand the catalog...but after an hour or two, I gave up and went with Skyjacker. -
PETE!!!! tech on your spring-over shock mounts...
Twisty replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No problem!!! If you want me to get some more detailed shots of LWB shock set ups...I would be glad to! -
no, WJs are the same length as stock MJ arms...but they have that bend. ;)
-
My CB location. And I trimmed some metal off of the bottom of the bed...it was rusty, and bent anyways.

Any clue on the tire size/axle selection???

I don't want to rain on BrettM's parade, because I think he has a GREAT product...but I made my own for under $20. Its not as clean, and a little more confusing to operate, but it works the same.
