  1. I too have removed/removing the chrome from my MJ. Chrome is for my Harley
  2. Well i bought one just like that up here is 'Sconsin for $50.00 Just kidding :brows: It looks like it would be worth $1200 but I'm partial to 4L engines myself
  3. I picked up a set of replacement locks a couple months ago at the stealership. I forget what I paid but he re-keyed them for me at "NO Extra Charge". I had ordered one from work (O'Reilly Auto Parts) but it is the wrong part. I think the one they listed was for a FSJ
  4. Well I closed the deal on these two XJ's a while back but they were buried in the snow. The seller delivered the first one last Thursday and was supposed to bring the other one yesterday. Still waiting on that :headpop: I knew he had some spare parts as well but did not realize how much there was. I did not have to work today so after class I went home and dug out all the stuff in the back of the '92. The original plan was to get this one running for a guy at work but his situation has changed and can't take it anymore. So I guess I'll be parting both of them out (after picking out the parts I want/need :D ) I took about 90 pics of the first one and all the spare parts and have them posted on Photobucket I will be parting this rig out and will give ComancheClub members first dibs. If anyone has any specific needs please let me know and I will let you know if it is available. Once I get the other one and get the parts I want I will post more details in the classifieds and then on other forums and Craig's List. I believe I have a total of three 242 T-cases and three AW4's. The '92 has some nice lift parts in the front. Both have trailer hitches. The '92 has leather seats and all the interior trim (gray). There is also rear side windows, rear hatch glass and rear door glass (bronze tint) in the spares he gave me. Take a look at the pics and stand by for more details in the classifieds. And I think I know where I can pick up a beat up 2wd 87 Comanche for about $75 - $100 ;)
  5. I have a 96 booster and MC pushing rear disks in a 8.8 axle. Got rid of the rear proportioning valve. Man, I can stop on a dime and get .12 change :D
  6. I bought the grill on e-bay a while ago and it sat on a shell in the garage for about 3 years. When I put in my tranny cooler, I held it up just to see how different the mounting holes were and figured out it will just "snap in" and stay in place. I put the zip tie on to make sure it didn't fall off. Been like that for over a year. Yes cheap and easy and so far, kind of unique.
  7. This is my beer of choice. Maybe some of you 'Sconin guys will recognize it. Image Not Found
  8. It actually just "snaps' in place. I used a zip tie to secure it in one spot on the bottom and have not lost it yet.
  9. Or you can cheat like I did and just put a 97+ grill on an 89 without all the other stuff :D
  10. A faulty EGR can also cause stalling and idle problems. I had a similar problem that two repair shops could not fix. They kept telling me it a vacuum problem (partially correct). A friend that is a service manager for a large Honda car dealership listened to my description of the symptoms and correctly diagnosed it as an EGR problem. I plugged the vacuum line to the EGR from the EGR valve and it cured the stalling and idle problems. I never bothered to replace it because I was planning my stroker and switched to a '93 head and intake which does not have an EGR. No stalling problems with the stroker :D
  11. Retired from the Army last October as a Sergeant First Class (E-7) Did 5 years in the reserves as a 12b Combat Engineer. Went active duty and did 2 years as a Combat Engineer and reclassed into 55D (now 89D) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (hence my username!). Had lots of fun, blew up lots of $hitt :D and an enjoying retirement (at least from the Army).
  12. I picked up a set of metric ton springs from Husky Springs last fall. http://www.huskyspring.com/
  13. I thought that the interior lights worked on an always hot circuit. The other two wire are ground wires and depending on how the lights are turned on determines which wire is used to complete the ground circuit. The door jamb switches ground the circuit as does the headlight switch. On a 'Manche with the side pillar lights, pushing the light one way makes the ground connection to turn the lights on and the other light position allows the door jamb or headlight switch to control the lights. With an always hot circuit and ground control (MAJ Tom) you can have both sides of the circuit on with out creating an over voltage situation or overload to the lights. At least thats what I thought
  14. Try JeepConnection http://www.jeepconnection.com/parts/index.html
  15. Mine is another one that is self explanatory (I think). I was in the US Army Bomb Squad. The official term is Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). I retired last October and am now a full time student and also work full time at O'Reilly Auto Parts.
  16. Stay away from FedEx if you want them to get to their destination. I shipped a brand new tire using FedEx and it made it to Portland (I was in WA at the time) and from there I think it ended up on someones truck. At least the insurance paid off :D
  17. The PIG, what a great station. I used to listen to them when I was stationed at Ft Ord a life time ago. Got me hooked on a guy named Greg Brown and a song called "Who Woulda Thunk It". Great stuff
  18. I think he meant that the two door rear flares will work on a Comanche.
  19. I had a set of Rancho RS5000 that were less than 6 months old that I took off and replaced with the Monroe shocks. What a difference. The ride was a lot better. The Ranchos are good for off road but suck on pavement. I say buy them, you'll be happy with them.
  20. I finally got a chance to see the second Cherokee. The years were off a bit, the first is a 92 and the second is an 88. But for $500 I don't think that the years matter. Yes, thats more SNOW Image Not Found It's supposed to run, no battery Image Not Found Maybe a floor shifter for my MJ Image Not Found Too bad these won't fit a Comanche Image Not Found Only major item is missing window but that won't fit a Comanche either :D Image Not Found This one has a 242 T-Case Image Not Found I think the block out of the 88 will go into the 92 and will be sold sold to a guy I work with and the rest of the 88 is spare parts for me. I think there is a spare HO block included and another AW4.
  21. Well...... If it was for sale in WI it would probably be free (but not free of rust  )
  22. I hope to get a look at the 89 Cherokee on Saturday. Oddly enough the wife says I should park them both in the parking lot at our apartment. Things are getting weird here
  23. Funny thing about the cold, you can always dress a little warmer. I can't stand the heat in AL and when it's 98 degrees even riding my Harley wasn't any fun. I'll stay up north and freeze a little and buy lots of cheap Jeeps :D
  24. I was finally able to get to see one of the rigs. I have pics of the 94. Apparently the engine has a blown piston. For those of you not in Wisconsin, the white stuff in the pics is snow ;) Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  25. In Wisconsin, we don't need no half price sales. Half of nothing is still nothing. :D
