  1. Yeah, sometimes it is fun telling someone at a parts store I need disk pads for a 97 Explorer, front soft lines for a 96 Chevy C1500, And a Dakota rear break line. They then ask me if I work at a shop, and would I like to set up a business account, and my answer... "No...I drive a Jeep." Then going to Napa....telling them I need a bushing. They ask me for what? I tell them..."Just give me the book...."....lol
  2. Trail-Gear.com Creeper Joints.
  3. I need some 3" coils. Please PM me if have have something and how much. Thanks! Jim
  4. The above aforementioned 94 2 door XJ is now mine, and the 87 MJ in the latter post is now Marcel's. Even swap....everyone happy....I had to get back to my 2 door XJ roots. Note the Jeep in my signature, that is my last 2 door....oh how I miss her....
  5. ...Yeah, mine looks different now too....AND don't repaint it... :-(...lol
  6. Well guys, I am out. I had my MJ for 4 months, and just couldn't get into it. Literally. I have always had 2 door XJ's in the past, with the big roomy door. I love the MJ, but driving one is not for me.... WIth that said, it is going to a good home, fellow CC member MVUSSE is trading me his 1994 2 door XJ today for my MJ, so he will now own 2 87 MJ's, one LWB, and one SWB. I know he will take good care of her... Here are the last things I did for him before letting it go: Got rid of the love handles.... Installed the center console... Just a last couple love shots.... Marcel (MVUSSE) will be trading grills with me, so I get to keep the 21 slot... Next time you see her, she will be Marcel's! And I will be back in a 2 door XJ where I belong! PEACE!!
  7. Offered...? As in free?
  8. Toy axles are strong, stock 4:10's and easy to work on (3rd member). The SM 420 has a 7.2 to 1 crawl ratio in 1st gear....and a 4.7:1 t-case toy conversion...COME ON!! This Jeep will have a 638:1 crawl ratio in 4lo and 1st gear...which is STUPID SWEET!! At 750 RPM idle it will crawl 11 feet per minute.... You won't hit 3000 RPM till you hit 76 MPH, so it's streetability should be fine. Buy it, it was built right, and built well!
  9. The 3:55 axles are FAR too common to spend money re-gearing 3.07's. Easier and cheaper to swap both axles, and as mentioned, you can upgrade to the 8.25. Any automatic XJ with the 4.0 will have them.....
  10. Where are you located?
  11. Could be able to trade my 2.5 for a 4.0 HO. What ALL do I need? Is it ok if it comes out of a YJ? I just want a LIST of COMPONENTS. I know I will need the front brace from a 4.0 XJ.MJ for the radiator... I looked for write-ups...but the search function spits out numbers (2.5 and 4.0). BTW, this is an 87 MJ, so I know it will fit. Thanks
  12. So, my 2.5 is a little tired, and I have a 4 speed with 3:55's so it is a dog. I have an opportunity to trade my 2.5L drive train (AX4 and 231) for the drivetrain from a 94 S-10 (4.3 TBI, auto, 231). Straight up trade. Question: Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any input on things I need to know in advance? This engine was on my short list of engine upgrades since with the Chevy bellhousing I could use an SM465 Muncie 4 speed behind it....but I want to know what to watch out for and how hard the swap would be. Would my cooling system be adequate? Etc.? Thanks for you quick input! Jim
  13. Or you could drill it out and use u-bolt style u-joint retainers...
  14. 3.15 today....
  15. You can do it since you are replacing the tailcone with a seal. But if you are going to spend the money....http://store.4wheelingplus.com/proddeta ... er=froogle
  16. Cause I like it. They came on early Cherokees and Comanches....
  17. Mine...
  18. Some Changes.... The 21 slot grill...THANKS BRENT! Ok, use your imagination...it was dark...a little lift.... The YJ shifters and boots from the 4WD conversion....I still need to frame it in to clean up the look... I like the T-case linkage A LOT better than the XJ/MJ. The center console that will get trimmed to fit and Krylon Fusion painted black... Note the long piece of steel soon to become a rear bumper... Soon to go in thanks to Racin_66(from my site) and a GREAT TRADE! Another illustrious Cobra 29 LTD... More to come soon....and maybe a daylight pic....
  19. The reason for the hack is to eliminate stress on the output seal. You will roach the output shaft if you do not shorten it. You want as little stress behind the seal as possible. With that being said...I have seen writeups on NAXJA with part numbers for HNT SYE's.
  20. Anyone know how? Thanks
  21. I could use a track bar......
  22. It looks right, but looks like it is missing the rheostat, making it just a pickup tube....
  23. Reasons to talk him down on price: 1) That front axle does not appear to be centered, so the track bar was not dealt with when lifting it and it will have BAD bumpsteer. 2) No new control arms with the lift. You can tell by how much the axle is pulled back in the wheel well. 3) Body damage 4) It;s need for new tires. 5) Tailgate? Go $700 max....this needs work, no matter how rare it is you need to make a profit.
