Project "Eliminator"
SW86 replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
good stuff. what psi were you running? nice tow pig setup as well  -
no pics to this update but both sleeve sides are in. I'm just waiting on the gussets to arrive and its off to welding. i went with Artec gussets. hopefully theyll fit without much modification. also ordered new joints for the long arms to complete the front end build up. well, minus the steering kit... for now... since this is my project for the winter, the rear c8.25 is getting a complete re-do as well. along with rebuilding both driveshafts. I'm pretty sure my tcase chain is stretched out, so its getting replaced too. man, after re-reading that, i need to figure out where the hell all this money is coming from!!

i know there's several down here right now in yards. if i get back over that way ill snag some. you know, if the hatches are even still there :rotfl2:

would that 4x4 one in the first picture happen to be a west tennessee offroad member...? seems like ive seen that truck before

got the pass side sleeve in but not burned in. here's one shot of the holes and how i did it. I'm sure its not what they were thinking but its what went down lol. again, they are 3 rows, four hole each, offset to the others. i didnt put one under the coil bucket but since the end is getting welded all the way around. it should be fine IMO hammered in even pushed in to the right spot (at the outside tubes inner lip) theres about a half inch room until the inner seal. maybe a little less but theres still room for more. not really an issue but still. i need to drill out the driver side to 1/2", clean it up and slide it in. got a guy going to weld it up, weld on C gussets, jks mini skids and set up the 4.88s while I'm there.

made it home in one piece. few new "body modifications" but no real breakage. we went back to Hawk Pride ORV park in northern Alabama. Hit every trail i havent been down before. its only a 1000 acre park but its got some serious crawling action. a buddy got tons of video and i got a few pics ill post up soon as well.

MJ is loaded on the trailer for yet another offroad adventure . :MJ 1: . Also did a little work to the d30 I'm building. Drilled about 6 holes in it so far for the sleeves. The drill bits are taking a beating lol

 a bit late for the CC pow wow isnt it... :D -
Thanks. My MJ isnt a show stopper but it goes just about anywhere I want it to. The pics really don't do that place justice. Those boulders were huge, along with steep grades. Two of those pics were on level 5 spots (4th and last pic) but it doesnt look like it at all..

Moogs problem solvers from rockauto arent that expensive, even after shipping. never heard of the "premium" ones. synergys seem to be good ball joints i havent had a problem out of mine ever since they've been in.

So this past weekend I drove up to Hot Springs, AR and went to Superlift ORV Park. Had a total blast. Went on a bunch of trails Ive never been down before and some classics. I put the hurt on the MJ. It rained Saturday morning, so things were nice and wet. By Sunday things dried out a good bit and traction appeared again. My brother has pics and videos he's sending. I'll get them posted up soon.

maybe one day we'll have another civil war.......... that might be the only thing to get us back on the right track....
-
i know, small gears + big tires spinning for traction = boom, but a lot of guys run them with no issues. hopefully ill be another one added to that list. and thanks, means a lot. ive come along way since the guy who didnt know $#!& at the beginning of my thread lol. truck has come along nicely to. and being from the country, me or my MJ arent scared to get into the wild ;) I'm liking your MJ. i can't believe i havent seen it before now!

man id be fixing that rust issue. was there even any frame left to bolt it to.. :rotfl2: jk jk, looks good. rough country is local (well sort of) to me and quite a few in my local club run the RC stuff and are happy with it. i hated my short arm lift from them.
-
motor mounts swapped out. id say the old ones were a little worn..
-
they slide in the axle housing tubes to provide extra support so nothing bends. here is a pic i snapped. i slid it in as far as i could by hand
-
hell i was drooling over the truck so bad, i didnt even notice! thats an easy 500 off right there :rotfl2:
-
if i had it, id buy it in a heart beat
-
ive got 6.5 coils up front and its still not sitting level. not a bad rake but not level. swapped 8.25 with stock 4wd leafs, that apparently, werent shot at all.

synergy sleeves came today. i can tell already they'll beef it up for sure  taking the axle to a buddies for a quick sand blasting. then ill start drilling the holes for them. only thing really left on the list is ball joints and wheel bearings. everything else is already here or covered
