  1. Haha! Yeah that'll do it. I got the new unit bearings in. The last piece I didn't replace on the super 30 build. Of course cold weather snapped the $#!&ty air hose I had on my compressor, so those axle nuts will be fun!..... I could buy a new one but I live way out in the country and I really don't feel like driving in 30mph gusts. On a side note, the first wheelin trip is coming up fast. Feb 28-mar 2 at Superlift (again..). I've got a few things to do but I should be alright. Can't wait to try out the new setup
  2. I'm sure you can bend it but I doubt it happens while on my MJ. It's 1.5" X .25" Wall DOM tubing.
  3. Hey i just got the ruff stuff kit and its stout for sure. Several guys run it around here with zero issues. Plus it's for stock knuckles tapped to 5/8. There's a link and pics in my thread. If you can catch a coupon it's well worth it. I paid under 200 when I bought mine with shipping.
  4. Yeah they have a "hot rod" version (same plate) where you list all the mods etc etc but like yours up there, it cost way more. I said fuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk that lol Anyway, got a box dropped off today. What's in the box you say,, @#$%ing steering kit! Doubt ill ever bend these bastards
  5. i havent had any real issues either. once or twice id have to refresh the page and re-upload it but thats about the extent of my troubles..
  6. They only told me and what the paper work said was it has to be stock to manufacturers spec (ha!), I have to have a different primary vehicle and it has to be 25 years or older. They didn't tell me any driving restrictions or anything else with it. I looked on the states DMV site and saw no other things but I'm sure there has to be something And yes, 9 bucks.
  7. got new tags for it. 9 dollars and I'm good for the rest of my MJs life! a teaser for you ;)
  8. this just happened.. :brows: drove the jeep for the first time since the swap and I'm loving the gears. the best part is the transmission actually shifts when its supposed to! :rotfl2:
  9. back in and almost done! i need to put the cover back on, fill it up and bleed the brakes. then its done! also shaved the 8.25. that little lip @#$%ing sucks! before (after i cut most of the little lip off. you can see that little hump i left in the middle) after (cut up to the lube locker) look ma! a d35! :rotfl2:
  10. Well 7 hours and two pizzas later, we got the gears in. It's not a huge job but the right tools and some patience go a long way. The 8.25 surprised us with a few things. Over tight bolts, reverse threaded ring gear bolts, bearings that wouldnt let go and those carrier bearing adjusters. We had to rig up a tool for those adjusters. Ill get the rest of the pics later but here's the only one I took.
  11. Front installed and rear removed, broke down and ready for the gear install tomorrow

    Sad Day!!!

i remember that one. it makes me want to plate the MJ.
  13. id re-think that hard line location. i had mine set up like that (not that far down) and they still got ripped off. once you get your axle how you want it, route them over the top of the leafs for a really safe location
  14. merry chrimmus you MJ addicts!
  15. Haha just didn't want you buying the wrong ones. The iro ones are good and at a decent price. Though a design so simple, I'm sure you could make some up easy if you were so inclined. My thing with those is there's no actual support to the axle. Just between the C. Which in most cases it's fine but if your already going at it, go all out IMO. Make (or buy) a support from the axle tube to the bottom of the C. That way your getting double protection. Also as far as the sleeves. You know I put synergy in my new 30. Only complaint, I can't run outer axle seals. Solution ( wish I did more research) buy the evo sleeves with the outer seals built in. I can't say on how it holds up but it sure seems legit to me. Just a thought...
  16. Perhaps Pete can orchestrate a CC Secret Santa for next year. that would be pretty cool but probably won't ever happen :dunno: i was just talking to my brother about making some wine bottle trees. itd be easy as hell. you should give it a go
  17. what synergy C gussets are you talking about, because the JK ones will not work on XJ, TJ, ZJ d30s. there is not enough room for the coils. there was hardly any room on my Artec ones that slide over the top of the knuckle..
  18. I can agree about the stoppers. They look good. We've always got an open bottle around here. Maybe a CC Santa sending out some free stoppers ;) haha
  19. I've been running a 3 link long arm for about two years now. Since this is mainly a trail rig it doesn't see high speeds at all but it handles alright. Although no sway bar has its fun moments at highway speeds lol
  20. Mucho better. Throwing it in, then finishing it all up :)
  21. for right now until i get the rear axle done, its staying the same. hell really, ive got all the parts for the rear, i might just go on and pull the trigger on it... this is what I'm going with. of course, waiting for the 20% code ;) http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/34STEER.html

    Later Guys...

how about we start over by deleting this thread. though it does prove the fact that people are attracted to drama. look at the view count on this thread vs. another in the pub section. pretty ridiculous... kind of like people crying over that dude from fast and furious dying but not giving a $#!& about mandela.....
  23. i know it.. or about how much money actually goes into doing stuff like this. it adds up quick. i did more work to it after those pics. i FINALLY got those bottom ball joints out. i had to heat the knuckle to cherry red to even get them to budge. then the press plus tons of beating with a hammer was done to get them to drop :shake: sway bar links are cut down to the buckets. i don't run a sway bar anyway. having fitment issues with the coils and the gussets. a little more grinding and i should be good to go. itll be nice to have it back installed.
  24. got the axle back. 4.88 gears, jks mini skids, synergy sleeves, artec C gussets. I'm trying to round out things left to do today but it doesnt look like ill get it all done :dunno: sorry for the crappy pics :peek:
  25. @#$%ing a. That's awesome. What of the owner joining?
