  1. I could use a header panel. Do you ever come to Evansville? How far to Bloomington from Evansville?
  2. Guess I could have given the perfect answer like this. It all sounds very familiar(2times). A trip to the pull a part is in order and let the fun begin. Some of the first things I got: visors, visor clips, window cranks, clock, door panels, wiper modules, jack, jack crank, tire iron with flat end(for spare carrier) just a bunch of little things that are missing or neglected.
  3. Opinions? Experimenting with the 10 spokes. Painted one today with Duplicolor. Would have preferred not painting, but not sure how I will get out the imperfections, and it does look pretty good. Would have preferred a restoration, but not the dollars or time. Image Not Found
  4. Plenty of ideas in the Project section. Edit: Not a crack, might get some ideas.
  5. Great write up. Works great. I needed to make 2 shims for between the mount and the hinge for my door to fit properly. Thanks!
  6. Fender mounted. I really like the black flares. My door has been sagging alot more lately and I noticed the door fix write up several months ago and knew it was a matter of time. When I took off the fender, the door hinge was hanging by a thread. So, perfect time to fix it. Now to deal with the Pioneer stripes and faded paint on the rest of the truck. Image Not Found Cutting out metal to do door repair: Image Not Found Hinge repaired, (great write up in DIY), although I had some tweaking to do for my door. I had to make some shims for behing the hinge for the door to hang right: Image Not Found Comanche badge looks crooked in the pic,
  7. I think I smells me another project. Any body know about getting this paint tinted, I haven't gone through all 40+ pages yet.
  8. I was just wondering out loud whether which would look worse: The missing stripes on front or the faded stripes on the rest of the side. Wish I had a place to paint the whole truck.
  9. Would love to see this truck restored. Love the color scheme.
  10. One Baltic Blue fender(formerly green) to install when I get time. Image Not Found To replace this: Won't have the stripes, so I may be removing the rest of the Pioneer stripes. What kind of mess will I have?
  11. Put the buckets in yesterday. I'm goint to paint and install the fender I've needed since I've owned the truck, found the fender last year at the pull a part. About time I did that. The day I bought it, it was only suppose to be an engine donor for my 4x4, been driving it ever since: The latest pic: The next tires will be mounted on the ten spokes(maybe 5000 more miles), that will be a project this fall, although they are not bad and may suit as they sit.
  12. Had this for quite awhile, but have no plans to buy another non-MJ vehicle for another year or two. So sprucing up a little. Painted the front bumper this weekend and finally added buckets. Great seats! Already had the matching door panels. Console to follow, along with a little paint touch up and black fender flares. Possibly black paint along the bottom of the body. Figured this was the most appropriate place, even though it's not a new project.
  13. In my neighborhood, I'd probably give him $5500(no more) if it were 4X4.
  14. No problem, I took a chance and went anyway. If I had a place to store stuff, I'd pull it. Not much left on the carcass worth anything. I will say, the prices there are higher than the PAP I frequent in Evansville. But I was willing to pay for parts I needed/wanted.

    Trying to find

    viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25952
  16. Thanks for the headsup, I got the black fender flares, bucket seat brackets, and some wing back buckets from a cherokee. Finally going to have buckets. By the way, the only other things I saw of value-maroon door panels and maroon carpeted piece for the rear of the cab.
  17. Me too. I've been looking for a fiberglass topper for 2 years....one thats somewhat close anyway.
  18. I had the pedal break inside the cab on my 4x4. I bought the assembly from a donor manual tranny Cherokee at the local pull a part. If it's just swinging freely, thats my guess. I can't recall if it looked like it could be repaired by welding. But, seems like that was my plan of attack if I hadn't found a replacement. Good luck.

    chain saws...

Had an Echo that lasted 20+ years. When it crapped out finally, I bought the Poulan Pro or something like that, at Lowes. I'm just an occasional user, and it's been great. Came with extra chain, so I always have a sharp chain to use. Yeah, I can tell the difference in quality, but it is great for my use. Don't see why it won't last awhile for my usage.
  20. I got all mine at the Pull A Part off a donor Cherokee. Jack, folding crank, and the lug wrench thats about 2 ft long, kinda L shaped, that's flattened on the end for removing hubcaps. That end will fit into the mechanism for lowering the tire. A big screwdriver will suffice.
  21. I've replaced 4 manifolds on 4 JEEPS with the e-bay manifolds. All are still going. 2 Renix and 2 later models. The Renix has the PIA crossover pipe, 1 was no problem, the other didn't want to line up right. You can easily do this in 4 hrs or less. Remove the air box, so you can get your arm in there close. You'll need a good assortment of extensions and a u-joint. You'll use a different assortment of ext. for each bolt. I'm used to doing this kind of work ,however, been turning wrenches a long time. Do not take the fuel rail apart, I believe the manual calls for it. It is manageable without doing so. Good luck. I meant to reply to this weeks ago, and just forgot. You can do it. Wish I was close, I'd help. I like helping people save money on car repairs. Walked a guy through a water pump exchange today. Could have done it with my eyes closed, he just didn't have any experience, he was quite happy.
  22. Looks worth it to me, but I don't like long beds. Would like to have it, however. No money at the moment.
  23. Yeah, I posted it last time it was on e-bay, can't believe he didn't drop the price at least a little. I fully intended to actually go and talk to this guy. (My son lives in Nashville). I really wanted to see what he is thinking.

    4X4 ATV ????

Agreed. Every Suzuki I've owned has been tough as a rock. Starting with this one bought in 1972 and still own.
