I seen a special on it and they ran nothing but mustangs (fox box style) for like 3 hours It was crazy what some of the guys had. One of them blew a tranny line and come a butt hair width from hitting the wall and the other guy won it and took everyones T-shirts and not the car and told the guy they would be back to settle the score. That was one of my Favs Cole

Did they fight on there this time....They usally say someone is sandbagging or someone has motor probs. Some of the cars on there are amazing and others look like a 12 year old built them but they will freakin go down they strip like a rocket. I love that show But I would never do it. I don't even like the thought of my MJ being gone let alone a 40000 dollar race car. Cole

No about the trans working with the T-case they are way diff. and the d-shaft lengths may be different and the trans I believe does not have a comp in that year but double check that one. Cole

Well at my base one of our vehicle mechanics that has been in for over 14 years as a vehicle mechanic on base called me cause he couldnt find the c-clips on the front axle in his TJ and needed me to show him. This was after I had put a locker in for him and and showed him the removal process. I don't know what the deal was with him but he calls for me to help him all the time i don't understand why a mechanic thats been doing that kind of stuff for years can't comprehend the jeep world. And they say the AF is the smartest branch  Just thought Id share a funny story. Cole

Yeah I don't know how long it would have took him to figure it out if it wasnt mentioned. That would have been one pissed off jeeper. Cole

Yeah this is ridiculous(??SP??) that guy is going nuts on here and theres nothing we can do. I also think a few more Mod would help alot..Maybe Pete can ask the guys he trust with that responsibility and see which ones would help. I am more than willing to help as much as possible. Cole

All bolt on and I agree with all said above about it not being worth 1000 but I can see 500-700 maybe if the frame is good. Also the D44 came in MJs that had a tow package deal on them and they were not the Metric ton MJs just random ones here and there that seem to be popping up alot lately. And welcome to the club Cole -
So you saying (I am a little slow this late at night) that I don't need to mess with the fuse panels and such I just need to use the computer(s) if theres more than one and the MOTORs wireing harness and then everything will plug and play. I hope this is what your saying cause that makes it easier. If the fuses will work I don't have to mess with the rest of the interior controls corect?? Just the motor and comp. and such. Thanks for the info Eagle. Cole

If I ccould make the trip to pic it up I would consider it but what year is it and is all the wires and such that is needed for the swap there?? My neighbor is looking for a 4.0 from a 91-95 i think is the years. He might want it Cole

Was the battery unhooked??? Seen it happen never had it happen to me Edit: I have thought of unhooking the Comp while welding to keep it from ever happening???don't know if it would cause any probs Cole

For anyone with a 97+ front clip????
JOMJ87 replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Your bumper will work and the lights are easy all you need is to cut the wires for the light socket off the TJ since they don't need it anymore and splice iit in to your turn signals or park light wires. I am doing it to my turn signals but you have to get the right bulb for that. Real easy if you get these conectors Hope this helps Cole -
I have thought of that already and I don't think I need the power I am happy with the 2.5 as far as thats concerned. I only want reliability again and to be able to drive further than 30 min from the house without a worry. Plus with 4.88s I should be pretty good for On road use. Cole

the wireing is simple to do for the power windows IIRC just a few loops and a switch with power. aemsee Knows alot about this stuff maybe he will speak up for you. Cole

Star wheel adjusters for rear drums
JOMJ87 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The only thing I can think of is something wrong with the backing plate or Incorect install but I think you know what your doing you might need to have a Pro do it and if it brakes again then they should cover it???? I don't have any other clues to it other than something off with the backing plate which is the only thing you have changed. Or the adjuster is spinning the wrong way and loosening everything. Yeah you might not want to drive it like that cause they will just get softer and softer then the rear want work at all. Cole -
All you listed a and A small generator mounted in the bed A Compressor (oba) impact and air ratchet alot of tools not just a small kit axle shafts for all sides and such spider gears DUCT TAPE (greatest thing ever) Spare tire with corect nuts(from experience have the right lug nuts if its on a different wheel then the others) Farm Jack (hi-lift) A cell phone Two way radios if in a group (helps the spotter not yell) extra u-bolts Battery Homade welder if Its you have two batt. and Rods steering linkage I'm sure theres more I can't find my checklist right now I take so much stuff i am pretty much a mechanic shop on wheels with power even. :brows: Cole
