  1. OK the ECU might also be bad and everything is kinda scetchy with the electrical. I forgot to mention this before. BUT and this is good news for me MY buddy accross the street is doing the 4.0 swap adn will give me his drivetrain and wires and Computers and everything I need for a real good deal. Its the 91 motor and MPI with a bored out TB but other than that its stock and was bought new 4 yrs ago and only 30000 acctual miles on it. :brows:   :D What do you think of this swap. Cole
  2. The steel bent pretty easy concidering the slits I cut in it. My only issue was getting the the same and all. The reason I didnt do it to the center yet is because the slit method makes a semi sharp style bend and I would like it to slope alittle. The metal I had was the good stuff to it wasnt the stamped. The corners are almost a 1/2" thick I pushed over a 700 pound lookout tower this morning with the end of it and Had no issues. So I fill pretty good about it so far. Cole
  3. OK no prob just let me know what you want for it... Cole
  4. Hopefully when I do the middle bend it will put it where I wanted it I just ran out of time thanks though. Cole

    the new mj

Is that the long arm for the XJ they make??? How did it go on any probs how does it work for you??? Nice MJ by the way looks real sharp hope mine is that nice when its done (if it gets done) Cole
  6. Free at a spot on base that had some extra and alot of it but they also have plenty of sch 40/80 tube. Thats what I made my tube doors from and I am going t get some more for other odd stuff. I also got 2 4x8 sheets of aluminium to use for diff stuff. anyways I plan on changeing a few things hopefully I can get a hydralic press access this summer since I know what shop has one on base And i have a friend who works there and I'm going to bend the middle alittle so it fits the body better. I already did cut and bend the ends of it so I think the middle would make it look real sharp. Cole
  7. i run 35s with 4.10s and i do not recomend it for a DD.I am doing 4.88s in mine and you should also do the same. Also You might need 5"s of lift if you don't want to trim any I got 7"+ on mine with 35s and I trimmed alot. Cole
  8. Use pressure treated wood and never worry again. Cole
  9. NO prob I just thought it might be him cause his name is Cole to. I should have thought of it earlier. Cole
  10. OH ok misunderstood you there I was starting to worry but I do agree with your prob that isnt good for it at all up there in the snow states. The closest thing to salt my truck sees is when I eat at Burger King for lunch. I have forgot what Snow even looks like in the 78* heat out there today :headpop: Cole
  11. Interior looks great. I can't wait for your build to start I love reading new builds. :brows: BTW I pmed you back It wasnt me Maybe post up and ask the whole forum???? Cole
  12. OK I am worried you Pete the same one that goes on a 24hr trip to wheel are worried about mud and rocks hitting your paint. Just joking I am worried about stuff being flung up to just not at the paint My head is usally out there and with my tube doors I get hit alot. Cole
  13. Ill take it pm with the details I would love to have any amc stuff. Even if my truck is inbetween my seatbelts and such are amc??? Cole
  14. Hey pete I love your idea on the sliders but Have you ener thought of plating the under side of them so rocks can't grab the tube and hold you up??? It may be a dumb idea so thats why I am asking I think you have already thought of this and looked at doing it. Cole
  15. BTW should I paint it OD green or does it look good how it is I need to know so I can put the CC.com sticker on it along with another one I have?????? Cole
  16. OK I turned this paint thread into my project thread so Here is the Latest....I finished my Bumper "for now" caus ei need to cut some out of it. I also mounted my fog lights in the grill so they are protected from trees that might run into my bumper. I used 3/16 steel channel that was 5x2 and cut slits in it to bend the ends back to meet the contour of the body. Then I made some mounts the are temporary till I get back home to finish it the way I want this summer. The reason I went ahead and put it on is cause I destroyed my stock one awhile back on a trip through the woods and I was warned earlier this week not to be back on the road until I had a bumper. OK OK here's the pics::::: :D Cole Here is what I plan on cutting and the blue is a possible Hitch/frame crossmember/steering box brace Idea I have.
  17. The rest of mine are of jeeps???
  18. I am not getting anything yet cause I don't know if it will go to good with my Od green paint sceme :D Cole
  19. Well mine has 220000 on it and runs still but the compression is below threshold and the motor just don't run the best at all. I guess the 2.5 it is and the reason I mentioned the newer MPI is because my friend accross the street might5 be doing a 4.0 swap and his motor only has 30000 miles on it  so if he does the swap then Ill get that if not I will start my hunt for a good one. Pete::: I don't know why I didnt think it was tech I wasnt doing anything technical so I just threw it in the pub????? i remember that next time. Cole
  20. OK i didnt put this in tech cause it isnt to technical but anyways....I have a choice to make and would like your opinions. My saga is my motor is shot and isnt going to last much longer also my clutch needs replaced and my slave cylinder as well so Should I A: replace with a 2.5 like it has maybe a newer version B: 4.0 (don't care about the horsepower gaines and all that much but they last forever) C: some kind of desiel maybe the CRD one if I can find one for a steal D: V-8 since they are easy to come by and work on OK a little background on what I am looking for. I am happy with my 2.5 and feel no need to boost up the power cause then I will brake more stuff but If its going to be cheaper and simple to swap I am game for it. Really the cheaper it is the happier my wife so in turn I am happier. Also not to be an @$$ but I would like peoples honest opinions on the subject and not what guys feel they like more for whatever the reason. Cole

  22. Thats my prob I have 35s and mine don't like them and everything is in good working order (i think) its just the tires are so much harder to slow down. Cole
  23. you would have to be careful cause changing anything on the unibody change the structural integrity of it. You may weakin the area if you do that. Just a thought to keep in mind. Cole
  24. another 75 degree day I I enev am sweating working on the MJ it is way to hot for a week til christmas. I want to move up a couple states north. :headpop: Cole
  25. Thanks for posting this I may just have to do it when I put in my D44 with a disk conversion on the rear as well. I think it is prob a better unit in all since everyone is so tough about saftey and such but as we all know NEWER isnt always better but in this case I think you did yourself a favor.keep up the good work Cole
