    Neat Keychain

I had that exact same keychain (sold my MJ but I still lurk here) Pretty sure I got it from Azzys, maybe they don't stock the painted version anymore. Unless you happen to be the new owner of Project Scuzzy
  2. I sent a set of injectors to them to rebuild, and received a phone call about a week later informing me that what I sent them were chinese knock offs and they wouldn't rebuild them. I opted for a different set from them per their recommendation and never had a problem. I don't think they will sell you knock-offs.
  3. This made my day to see "Scuzzy" continuing its journey with (you) the new owner I look forward to seeing what comes next!
  4. +1 for Krustyballers hitch.
  5. Discovered that an MJ with a 6' bed can hold a maximum of 40 bags (1600 lbs) of mulch. 95% sure I didn't lose any on the way home from Lowes with this. Otherwise...I'm ready to move on and sell Scuzzy. As much fun as its been, my wife and I want to reduce the number of vehicles we own. I'll post it on the For Sale forum here, and then elsewhere after that.
  6. Routine PMCS (you military guys should remember that acronym!) on Scuzzy this evening. Took it on an uneventful 70 mile road trip today with humid temps in the 90s and the AC cranked up... now time for fluid checks and giving it a once-over with the torque wrench. The lower nut where the header connects to the down pipe likes to loosen up every 500 miles so that's one I need to figure out.
  7. Put the new bolt in, and took for a test drive. Can confirm that was the problem. Probably the easiest fix I have had in a long time.
  8. i'm guessing the grinding noise is just severe pad vibration/oscillation from only having 1 bolt. Didnt notice it during my initial crawl-under yesterday. New bolt arrives tomorrow.
  9. Ha! Thanks for the advice...I went to pull the passengers side caliper off and noticed a missing bolt. That explains why it made such a racket...
  10. Was running an errand the other day and out of nowhere while coming to a stop, I heard a loud clunking/rough grinding noise. Sounded like I had some big rocks in the bed rolling around, but the bed is empty. Seems to be coming from the front end, I can feel the clunking through the brake pedal - pulled the wheels and nothing looks out of ordinary. Noise gets progressively louder the harder I apply the brakes. Noise doesn't happen if I use the hand-brake, so that eliminates the rear brakes as culprit. Rotors spin freely enough, calipers move as they should. No signs of leaks at the axle. If I wiggle the tires, the front u-joints don't show slop or signs of concern. I have around 1500 miles after a complete rebuild, so nothing is old enough to be worn out. Ideas?
  11. I'm thinking that if you weld it to both the frame and the cab, you should be fine. I like where you are going with this idea.
  12. The more I read about this, the more I want one. Fits the bill for what I need a truck to do. I was looking at Rivian and Cybertrucks the other day but again, they offer more than what I need (and cost 3x-4x more than this)

    MICE

I used to have a mouse problem but then I had a furry friend move in to my shop. No more pests. Unless she brings them in as a gift. My wife and I help control the neighborhood stray cat population by catching them and getting them spayed/neutered as part of a local catch & release program (one returned - see my above comment ). We recently visited a huge animal rescue shelter in Utah and they mentioned a farm in Colorado takes a lot of their cats to control rodent problems there.
  14. Apparently I've been using my shop for the wrong thing!
  15. My 2 cents here.... Don't buy from your local parts store...you can get it on Amazon for much less $$$. Order more than you think you need.
  16. Funny, this popped up on my homepage (MSN something) at work today and I wondered how long it would take for this forum to catch on. At first glance it looks like someone did a Jeep Renegade conversion to an MJ. I do like the size and the shape/design. I'm not against EV at all, but can't justify a high cost since I have a very short commute to work.
  17. Hey i recognize that fender! Glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels guilty if I leave my MJ "neglected" too long. Currently its residing in the garage to stay dry with this weeks thunderstorms.
  18. My parents are in their upper 70s and used to have just a landline phone, then they got a cell, and slowly they realized the cell is more practical, so last year they cut out the landline altogether and don't miss it at all. Seemed the only ones who called it were telemarketers anyways.
  19. Update: nothing! 1600+ miles since I got Scuzzy back on the road with very little drama. Exhaust leak about 500 miles ago - simple fix by tightening the clamp where the downpipe bolts to the header. If it rains hard, water puddles on the passengers floor. No idea where its coming from but since I don't have carpet, its not a big deal. Fixed with a drain hole Tonight I was inspecting under the hood and when I tugged on the #3 spark plug wire, the terminal pulled out of the distributor cap. That's a new one for me. I had a spare new one on the shelf, so swapped it in. Nice having a dependable project.
  20. https://www.dirtbound.com/ I have a feeling I've been screwed. In November I ordered a set of DIY rock sliders from Dirtbound, and waited. When I checked the order status over the last couple of months, it would show in-progress. Now when I check it, the website defaults to today's date and the homepage has a message the owner is having some issues. Calling goes to voicemail where he recites the exact same message on the website. Anyone else have an order pending with them?
  21. Nice write-up! My only complaint is it was 75 degrees here today, so my motivation for a heated seats upgrade is lacking
  22. I'm a fan of these battery tenders/maintainers. I have one plugged into my Optima for my Torino at the moment. Noco Genius
  23. I didnt know balistic fab was closed until I saw your post. I've bought random items from them over the years and never had an issue.
  24. I like that color combo..don't think I've noticed a white MJ with the gold stripe before
  25. every so often I'll check Craigslist, but its absolutely awful. Facebook market is great for buying, but I hate selling on it...too many "is this available" messages and several no-shows who said they'd be over at a set date/time. My go-to place is still eBay. I actually bought some parts off it last night, and just posted something there a few mins ago. Funny eBay story...my brother was a huge James Bond fan growing up and amassed a giant collection of 007 stuff. A few years back my parents moved and I "inherited" the collection because I live closer than he does (lucky me). With my brothers permission I sold most of it on eBay and noticed the same lady bought each listing. I still had a lot leftover but was growing tired of listing all of it; since I already had her address from her previous purchases, I boxed it all up and sent her a very heavy gift box. A few weeks later she sends me a heartfelt letter in the mail thanking me and how much it made her week. Still makes me laugh.
