Yes it was an option. Beaterjeep's 86 has it as well. Very correct, and I also have a SYE on said 229 Selectrac case. :brows:
-
That only applies to street rigs like a few of us are building. With trail rigs, the dirtier the better.
-
I'm not a hockey fan much, but I'll say the wings take it all, easily.
-
Both in one shot. The MJ15 ('86 X 4wd trail truck project) and Baby ('88 Pioneer 2wd street truck project).

I'm no one important, and I live somewhere. Actually, I'm Joe and I'm in Menomonie, WI. College towns in spring time are GREAT!

yeah I'm going that friday morning. don't know if you want to do that too or just wheel on saturday. we're following you up on friday most likely. if all goes well, we'll have the 40 ft gooseneck and the duramax, so we'd trailer both rigs down. if that's the case, we may be leaving when steve gets back from work (around midnight/1am) because then he can sleep on the way down. otherwise, we may leave later too *shrug* idk. I'm wheeling sunday until 6pm then heading home BTW. may as well get as much as possible in while I'm there. Two Questions: Will either of you have a spare seat in your MJ? :dunno: :clapping: Would you mind filling said seat with a "Cheesehead in Training"? I'll MOST LIKELY (Let me check with the new job first, I start work on Monday so I don't know yet) have nothing going on and would love to tag along if you two don't mind... - Take Care beaterjeep may be coming with me, if all works out. my brother will probably have room in his xj however, and we can play musical passengers. so pretty sure you can come with :D Even if I have to walk, hitch-hike, or (attempt to) drive Baby down there, I'm making it this time.

Chevy 5 speed for a 2.5?
beaterjeep replied to streetjeep2.5's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I agree there, if it's not broke, why fix it? Maybe he's planning to break it. :rotf: That is a possibility, and I know first hand that a 2.5 can tear an AX5 apart. -

Looked at Baby out my window for a bit, then went outside and looked at her more. Trying to envision her done. I haven't seen the MJ15 in a while, as he's still in storage awaiting dire repairs.

Niiiiiice Pat. Neither look all that bad either.

Eh, I'm keeping it, and gonna continue the plans, disregard last post above this one.

I'll be making my '86 into a miniature M715, cut bedsides, flat wheel arches and all. Or were you thinking more along the lines of the old Willys WWII era Jeep?
-
My honest opinion? It looks like lavender and white. The rest of it looks complete BA though.

What weight oil are you using? Also synthetic, or dino? Very possible it's lifter tick, and can be 'quited' with a little heavier oil, but that just masks the real problem.

You mean like this? I did this on Baby a while back now. -
Lowering Spring differences
beaterjeep replied to wolfpackjeeper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Honestly, I love the ride she has now. To me, she was a bit too 'loose' feeling before, and because of the higher spring rate, it really tightened it up. I mean, sure it's a little jarring over big bumps/cracks/holes, but other than that, it's great. A lot less body roll around corners as well, which was anouther of my objectives with her, as she is after all a street beater. As for the thread-jacking, see my sig. -
DOH! Pete laid down the trump card.

:help: I can't see.... 8) ahhhhh much better...... MMM... chrome.

I'm pretty sure you've seen Baby when I had it at Pat's one of the times. She's definitely rust free. If you didn't, he's gonna have it down there again shortly for some time. Anyways, enough hijacking of poor wolfpack's thread. lol -

No, no matter how bad you ask, you cannot have Baby. :P -

I believe I have the smallest factory size as well; I'm currently running 235/75/15's on stock steelies. I'd have to go out to look to be certain though. Going out to look isn't easy for me right now, as not only is it raining, I'm also battling strep throat. -

I have no clue what yalls are talking about with the DSM's and whatnot, but wolfpack, it looks like you also have a 2.5 in your truck? If so, the initial drop will be about 2.5" and will settle to around 3" as mine has. Be ready to do a little bit of grinding on the upper bumpstop collar though. Mine had to be shaved all around to get them on properly; other than that, they went in with relative ease, and look great. -

Ugh, kids. :fs1: lol -
One word: Thunderchief. Two words: Street Comanche. Three words: Any rust free. :wavey:

Looks right at home in there. You should have left it purple though.
