Thanks. I will need to re-do it all when I fix the cab and do the rockers so I didn't want to go crazy on it. But for $40 worth of paint and tape I am happy with it -

I drive my Comanche all year long including in snow measured in feet and ice measured in inches on the road and off. I have never had any trouble with driving with a locked rear on road or off. Everyone has their preferences, though. Folks running a locked front/open rear: how do you deal with the significant front under steer? In very slick stuff it just plows forwards instead of turning in my experience

A guess as long as your vacuum lines were well maintained it would go a good ways toward eliminating most CAD issues

I don't recall how hardcore that you intend to go but as mentioned a TrueTrac is a nice option in the front unless you are hitting it pretty hard. The Detroit rear/TrueTrac front is a simple & less expensive option that will work well. If your budget allows then selectable/selectable is the way to go. I have seen plenty of problems out of air lockers: leaks, broken lines, compressor failures. Cable lockers are less failure prone in regards to that type of thing. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/154-1105-auto-vs-manual-differential-lockers/

10 ga or 3/16" center unibody stiffner
Incommando replied to 64 Cheyenne's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
33% thicker yet 50% more expensive. The bargain hunter in me says 10 ga. :rotf: -
I just got an XJ bucket/console set for several reasons. #1 is that although it looks ok my 250,000 mile bench is broken down. It does not support my 250#'s anymore. #2 is that I want the console as I am converting to a RADesigns floor shifter combo. #3 is that I never have over 1 passenger and the buckets give me more versatility with custom mounting options.

Where you hit in the passenger side or driver's side? What does your damage look like?

Not a bad idea

They look good with a small lift and a size or two larger tire -
Yes. I kind of miss the one I had.

I drove an '05 Liberty for 7 years & 120,000. The water pump failed at 4,000 miles and was fixed under warranty. I considered that a fluke as no one else has reported such an early failure. At 90,000 I replaced the radiator due to a crack. This is a common problem with Liberties and many plastic radiator cars. I also had to replace the intermediate axle shaft in the front but mine was lifted and had 31" mud terrains and I abused it off-road. There rear was locked as well. Mine would get 19 mpg or so In mixed driving but it was the unusual 6 speed stick. The autos get 17 or so. The 3.7 V6, like the 4.7 V8 it came from, has problems if the previous owner did not change the oil regularly. From timing chains to blowing up these engines have problems if neglected. They have a problem with window regulators failing as well. The auto used in most years is the 43 series and is not the strongest option. The KJ ( 02-07) and kk (08-on) are porkers. They weigh 4,500 #s or so If I remember correctly. That hurts performance and MPG I don't know if this helped at all.

Just because you have X dollars in a vehicle does not mean it is worth your investment, either. To be honest I wonder what was wrong that so many new parts failed after what does not sound like a particularly bad collision. Do you have post-accident pics of the truck & claimed damage?

I finally installed this thing. As mentioned above the install was pretty easy after watching a YouTube video some guy posted. My hose to air box fitting was easy to attach to the airbox. Everything mounted well.

Believe it or not the eye doctor thing is not relevant to the criminal/traffic charge. She committed a strict liability offense: her driving actions are all that matter. Her statement could also include al kinds of BS and is also not relevant other than if she admits fault. It appears that she did. The purpose of the report and statement are criminal prosecution not civil liability. Having seen an accident or two you are lucky that USAA is offering anything but a token amount to fix the truck. As you apparently did not establish the above average value of your truck beforehand, as hardly any of us do, they could have offered the token value of the truck and totaled it. If you don't insure it for your claimed value beforehand then they usually go that route. I have full coverage on my truck because it was $27 more a year than liability. However I did not go and have it appraised and insure it at a higher value based on that appraisal. Going that route would add several hundred dollars to the yearly tab and few standard insurance companies offer such coverage. You often get referred to a specialty carrier like Hagerty. When I last renewed my policy in 7/14 the insurance value of my truck is $1400. Any damage over that means it is totaled and all that I can expect is $1400. And a figure like that is probably all USAA would have to pay in most states, as well. I do hope you get a fair settlement out of this. Insurance is such a scam.

SOA in the back, what for the front?

Thanks. That makes sense -
Some people claim gains with the newer intake. jP magazine lost horsepower after the swap

Not the greatest flex in the world maybe but in IMHO it isn't bad and it actually works on and off road
