  1. I am curious as well. I just run without it. Conversion post in the link in my sigI have 91 this was one of the few things it wasn't prewired for. The harness from the 96 aw4/231 combo had the plug wired for it (the two extra wires in the trans plug) I bought a new indicator switch which is on the tcase plugged it up ran two wires from trans plug under hood to dash and boom works like a charm. I have 91 wiring fsm if needed. If you don't have existing wiring on harness just find indicator switch at tcase and run wires directly to dash. Thank you. I will try that
  2. Jeep math is tricky

  4. That chart was accurate for the measurement I needed. :)

  6. My '88 Dakota was a 2.2 Dodge motor. After they that used the 2.5l version of that same engine for a few years. Sometime in the mid 90's (96?) the Dakota moved to the jeep 2.5 but switched to the 2.4 after a couple of years. I don't know about the swap potential from a Dakota but make sure it is the later jeep engine and not the earlier Dodge 2.5L
  7. Thanks for the review. Yes the headlights suck. By lifting mine it also leveled the stance and that helped some but not much. BTW: if you have backseat passengers often do them a favor and get one of the rear seat spacer kits that change the angle of the too-upright seat back. They will really thank you.
  8. Even if it works as a low-cost soak to clean parts it would be worth it
  9. When I converted to 4wd I spent more on the used rusty stock shifter crap then I paid for the boostwerks kit what I eventually went with. It is a simple install and works much better than stock.
  10. Just never go long without changing the filter when trying to actually clean a nasty engine as opposed to normal use
  11. ^^^^ From the emphasis in the first post it looks like you know about using the right filter for these engines. Even name brands can be inappropriate . One with a good check valve like Wix or Purolater is a must
  12. I have seen several but I have never looked at the mounting. I have seen more than one used for a winch mount
  13. So if it has been sitting as it can't be driven what clogged the oil filter? How is the MJ not a "regular vehicle?" Just make sure you bring the engine temp up to normal operating temp when you run it. Without any idea about the miles on the oil/filter it is hard to form a good opinion
  14. Most people would let that pass. Good on you for holding their feet to the fire. I waited almost 5 whole days to lift it
  15. Hornbrod: how are you doing on MPG? I am at 19.1 on EVIC while I got 18.8 on my first tank by doing the math
  16. Some people think that just because one brand of tire of a certain size lists curtains specs for that size means that 1. That is the actual measurement of that tire instead of just the standard sum of the equation and that 2. Those specs are therefore universal for that "size" despite the manufacturer. I laugh. My Buckshots in that size measure over 32" either by level and plumb or string roll out
  17. If you want pure rocks neither badlands or redbird will satisfy you.
  18. I was last at Badlands 3 years ago. It was a fun place then. Three years ago was a long time, though. Especially with quads & SxS's. Too few of them respect any sort of trail etiquette and too many follow the " hold my beer and watch this" mentality at the parks that I go to. Note that I did not say "all" such people at "all" such places.
  19. I run 80 on the highway and wheel often with 32's and 3.55's is that with a stick or auto? My brother had a XJ with an auto and 3.55's with 32's and it was still peppy. Auto.
  20. Muchas gracias seƱor. I just wish I had 1/10 of your metal fab skills Ben.  I got it! 31's on the front, 33's on the back! Only if you run different diameter rims as well. 31x10.5x15 front & 255/75/17 on the back
  21. Wrong. The recommended wheel width spec for a 10.50 tire is 7"-9". Look it up. Unpossible! The Great and Powerful OZ pronounced otherwise, blasphemer! ( I crack myself up)
  22. Honestly people who believe in book learning like it is the only gospel can be a bit preachy. And as for overall performance that is your opinion. Some Felix Ungers micrometer their eggs in the morning because only one size is their version of "right". Anyway it is better to be a hick than a... Crap. Can't remember. Sounds like hick but was vaguely anatomical. :)
