  1. +1. I think, besides having a TFI setup, those are just like any other sbf.
  2. I'm going to get the measurements from my friends dakota. I will post them when I get them. sounds good....thanks. Matt
  3. oh ok. I was really just worried about the trans hump since I wan't to use the center seat as well.
  4. here's mine. I know the liscense plate bracket is ugly but I couldn't think of much else. I would also like to put the reciever tube into the bumper like I did up front, but I didn't know how to do that when I made the bumper.
  5. would you be keeping it EFI or carbed? Like someone mentioned, the engine is taller and wider than a 302 (not alot, but enough). 302 heads do interchange but the intakes don't. You wouldn't want to put any stock 302 heads on unless theyre of the gt40 variety anyways. good luck matt
  6. eagle; funny that you picked that picture....I bought that cluster and it's in my mj now. Anywho, changed the sensor and its all good. It reads about 10* hot, but as long as it's consistent I'm happy. Cooling system is under control as well. I seem to have it all buttoned up correctly.
  7. TNT....how about the trans hump with the dakota setup? The way I deal with junkyards its 10x easier to just say what I want and buy it right away instead of measuring this that and the other.
  8. ah great...thanks. I'll give that a shot when I get home. Matt
  9. wow. I'd never hear the end of that.....I bet it worked though.
  10. thats a nice deal you got there. Any idea on how well the buckets will fit?
  11. good point. I'll have to take a gander in my brothers truck and see what it's like. Too bad he's got buckets otherwise I'd know for sure.
  12. sorry to be askin so many questions lately but here goes. I need a new seat in my mj and I'd like something comforatable for long drives, but I still want 3 people capacity so no buckets. My friend suggested single cab s10 bench seats (late 90s early 00's), which are are 20/20/20 configuration, but the middle seat folds down into an armrest. Which would be perfect for what I need. Does anyone have any idea if it would actually fit in? Making seat brakets is no problem but I don't want to be unable to close the doors :headpop: My brother has a 97 with buckets, so I can get a decent idea next time I see him, but that might not be until next week. Thanks alot, Matt
  13. o ok. That's good news then. I am getting a lot of air pressure in the tank. Do I just need to burp the system? If so, whats the best way?
  14. here's what I got so far.....when the cts on the head is unplugged, the gauge goes all the way down. When I plug it on, the needle shoots up to the top. To top it all off, the trucks overheating; I'm getting 205 in the resevoir tank with a lot of pressure, and 205 at the waterneck. The rest of the engine and radiotor ends are cooler, around 170. Any thoughts?
  15. I changed the on the block. Any way I could test the top one before buying a new one? Matt
  16. I was thinking the same thing.
  17. I'm gonna try this, because the ign. cylinder is pretty sticky. I don't have a radio in so I don't know about that. As for the cluster, I just picked this one up in the classified section so I'm not sure if it was working beforehand. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Thank for the help, Matt
  18. I got my engine running the other day, and everything is gravy, minus the engine temperature gauge in the cluster. When I start the truck it goes straight up to the max. I changed the CTS out today and it didn't help. All of my other gauges work. Any thoughts? Matt
  19. i got it pretty well sorted out. Thanks. Any idea's on the brake cables?
  20. hows it goin all, I'm finishing up my 4.0 swap and I need to get all the vacuum straightened out. Does anyone know of a good vacuum diagram for the engine online? also, for the guys who did an 8.8/disc swap in the rear, what are you running for parking brake cables? Thanks, Matt
  21. ha was that kid in the zj holdin a beer out the window?
  22. or your rear tires on the ground.
  23. sounds cool....keep us updated.
  24. cool. Your truck looks identical to mine when I first got, had the same driveline too. What color interior do you have? This swap is a good bit of work, but so much of it is bolt up that I really don't mind; I've only used the welder a few times. However if I didn't find the donor truck I would have certainly stuck with a 3.4 swap. But the FI and 5 speed were hard to turn down. Matt
