Any way to tell? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I made mention of this truck a few days ago. I didn’t get a good look, but I think it’s a manual. What are the chances it’s got the BA trans? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve also used this one and if should work pretty easy. Make sure to drill the knob out a little bit as it won’t fit on the original stick quite right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Be careful with those lock cylinders because they may not fit the setup for your door. They could be for a newer Cherokee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ll be going back sometime in the next few weeks. I’ll be sure to post it up on the forums if I’m able. That reminds me, I need to post my original truck up still! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah there was one. It always surrounded by weeds so I don’t even know if it ran. Paint looks pretty good though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Found this guy while going down the freeway to Reedley in California. Looks like it’s been sitting there for a while Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree with Pete too. If you love it then don’t let it go. I had a HUGE dent in my bed side panel, and a 2x4 and hammer really work wonders. Trust me, if you put in the effort yourself, you can make it much more manageable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah they say that. Be sure to check EVERYTHING. I got mine for 1800 and the yard said everything was fine, but lo and behold battery cables were shredded and covered in dielectric grease, brake lights didn’t work, and it had power drain. But I got mine from a pull yard dealer, so you should have some better luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Well thanks anyways! I found a faceplate for $25 on eBay so I hope it works. It honestly beats the one I have from 99 in my truck. The poor radio can’t even play CDs anymore, and at least this one has an aux cord. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just picked up a Sony CDX-GT300 radio without the face plate. Is there anywhere online that’s not eBay that I can get the face plate without getting ripped off? Because I don’t want to spend another 30-40 bucks just to find a faceplate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any idea where I could find factory floor mats for my Comanche? Mine still has the ones from factory, but they’re pretty ratty. Do dealers still have them or is there a company that remanufactures them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Alright. How much would it cost me to get both through you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

89 Comanche > 88 Cherokee 4x4 swap
Dammerung replied to 89MJohn's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Welcome to the club! 1. I’d recommend replacing everything with the stuff from the xj, as most of the connectors for the headlights and such are melted. 2. I can’t help, 4 wheeling isn’t my thing. 3. I don’t believe you are. The Comanche is my first and I haven’t had any problems tying to fix mine up. It should be a simple in and out swap with the good parts from the xj Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Forgot to mention that it’s a high chance the bendix mechanism inside the starter is what’s stopping it. They get stuck sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You may not even need to replace it. My dad’s Chevy had the same issue and fixed it with a screwdriver tap to the starter. Lasted a whole 4 years until he sold it last year; after that it’s unknown. Good preventative maintenance though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had a similar issue with mine. Check the ground within the blinker socket. Mine makes and breaks contact and you can hear the corrosion in the socket. Could be your issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much would those cost me? And would I just go down to my Jeep dealership near me and ask for them to order them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m looking to perform a sensor swap for my 88 4.0 comanche. Are there any part numbers for the oil sending unit and temp sending unit? I’ve heard I should use mopar but I’m wondering if I could use anything else, I’m not entirely sure. If anyone has any suggestions or personal experience, I’d like to hear it. Also, will I need any adaptors when moving from light switches to sending units? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
