Just had my dad take my truck in for the smog check to finally get it registered for the road. It idled for 10 minutes while the dude was getting readings and overheated. My alternator’s internal regulator has finally bit the bullet. It only charges if I’m going real fast, which doesn’t happen often. I’m also looking to put in a stereo system in the future. What cars could I pull a high power alternator from? Or if I get a new one from rockauto or autozone, are there certain sizes or types I should be aware of?
