  1. I fully replaced the unit with an aftermarket one, and I’ve done some of cruiser’s tips, but I’ll have to go back and look to remember the ones I did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Okay, with number 1, I need to have put up some background. I bought NickInTimeDesign’s engine monitor because I wanted to make sure my truck was in good shape. Apparently my engine is fine, except that the exhaust runs both rich and lean constantly and an ECU code for an open EGR Solenoid is up. What do I need to do to fix both of these? Are they related? Or is the monitor just screwing with me. Number 2 - and this one has been an issue since I got the truck - whenever I shift into gear, my truck kind of bogs. It sometimes starts dropping below the 750 threshold into the 400 range. It sometimes even does it in park. However, reverse is the worst, as when I’m in that gear, my RPMs start to pulse between 400 and 700. It doesn’t always happen when I shift into gear though. What could be the cause for this? Is it potentially related to the question above? 1988 Pioneer, 4.0 Liter, Aw4 Transmission

  4. I believe it is DW. The steering wheel shakes side to side violently, and my whole truck shakes. The first time it happened I was going 45 down a road, it scared the hell out of me, but I managed to control it by slowing down to 30. It’s happened a few other times but the two different times yesterday were extremely violent, going on for about 15 seconds before I could slow it down to a stop to get it to stop. I can sometimes feel some bump steer that feels like it wants to turn into a DW, but slowing down can help stop it. Whenever I drive it I expect something like this from it now. I’m just lucky that whenever it happened I’ve been alone on the road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just experienced the death wobble again today and now it’s gone from spooky to annoying. I’ve had it for about a month and a half, but haven’t been able to do anything about it until now. I know that none of my steering and suspension components have been replaced except for the steering stabilizer (which was replaced b/c of something non wobble related). I’m gonna try to gather some parts up to get this done sooner or later, but what are the usual main culprits for it and is there any way to diagnose what the issue is? 6. How does it feel to drive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I’m trying to see what combos people have on their trucks with tire, rim and lift sizes. Personally, I want to see some 31x10.50x15 tires on stock rims at stock height because that’s what I’m considering next tire change, but let’s see what everyone’s got!
  8. I saw that one up online and I even tried to get the D44, but they were very expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’ve heard of alternators getting bushings instead of bearings as well as them getting fried or being DOA, though DOA can happen to anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s an 82 v45. I don’t really know what engine size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. New. AC Delco. I’ve heard horror stories about remans , so I didn’t want to risk it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The thing is, I just bought this alternator two months ago off of RA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’ve had the same problem with no real answer. My alternator would squeak when turned by hand. I tightened my belt more and it stopped the squeak temporarily, but it’s begun to act up again. Other then returning the alternator, maybe you can try and replace the bearing in the back? I don’t know much that’s involved with that, but my old man does, so I’ll try to figure that out. 14. How often do you guys get offers on your trucks? In the 6 months I’ve driven mine, I’ve had 2, with the first being rejected before a price could be said and the second being at a stoplight and being offered $1000 on the spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’ve seen 4 in the year I’ve had mine. One owner works near my house at a oil change place. I’m pretty sure he’s on here too. Another I saw in Reedley parked on the side of a street; it looked like somebody’s dented up rig. One I saw going to Reedley parked on the side of the highway which has been sitting there for years. Finally, last one I saw was downtown Fresno when I was on my way to getting my AC refilled at a shop. Pulled up right behind me after moving through a light. In all, 1 long bed and 3 short beds. 16. Has anyone seen a kit like this? I want to find out if the seller’s stuff is reputable. https://www.ebay.com/itm/174289412815 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks. I have a 88 4.0 Liter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I just talked to an auto AC refill person. He tested my system and found a leak in the AC Compressor and in one of the lines that connects to the condenser. To be honest, I’m going to be looking to replace most of the lines. Is there any place that sells the compressor and the lines? Rock auto has some but not all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m looking to be more of a weekend warrior if anything for now. I daily my Comanche, and sometimes she drinks through gas like nothing else. I was interested in a motorcycle both for the efficiency and generally looking to ride. I’m more interested in sport-cruiser styles rather then a road legal dirt bike or sport styles alone. Is there any way to rectify the issues by swapping the carburetor or would it always be an issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I bet your hoses are old. Check you hose clamps to make sure they are tight. Also make sure there isn’t air in your system, which may be making it act so wild. But also, maybe there is a block in the system somewhere? Try and flush the system if you can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking to get into motorcycles. I have an old 1968 Honda ct90 but recently a 1982 Honda Sabre came up for $1500. I’m wondering if I should get it or not, if anyone on here has experience with those bikes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’d try to find another and replace it, but repairing it may be viable with fiberglass body filler and such. I’m pretty sure there’s even a thread somewhere on here with some paints that match factory colors if you want to try and go the repair route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I solved the problem (temporarily at least)! I just tightened the belt more. Without tension on the alternator, it squeaks just from me spinning it, but now it’s fine. Hope it doesn’t come back to bite me later though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Bought an AC Delco alternator from Rock Auto about a month or two ago. My belt and pulleys squeaked before this and still squeaked after. I didn’t know that the alternator was squeaky, as the idler pulley also had a horrible squeak. I replaced the idler and found out that the alternator was squeaking. Is there a way to stop the squeak? Or can I talk to rock auto to get a replacement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Replaced the valve cover because I thought it was ugly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
