Sounds like the one that connects to the throttle body.

Best I can get it for is $50, and that's not including shipping costs. So I left it there, next chance I get to go back to that yard COULD be next week Friday. I'm involved with a big project next week at work though, so we'll see how that goes, might not be able to get out early next week Friday...

Fine then, party at my new place this weekend.     Even Roger is invited. :dunno: :dunce:

So I can use the same alum. master cylinder that is in the truck for this and leave the plastic TJ one in the parts pile. AWESOME. I love AA.

:D I have been there. - Great story!

Good video.

It works... don't get me wrong, but after having it in two truck beds I've noticed that it "shrinks" over time and eventually gets to the point that you can see through it to the old paint underneath. Never really had an issue with is scraping off if you do a darn good job of roughing the bed up, I usually spent about 3 hours roughing up the bed to prep it...

Bought another Comanche... Fix or Recover Parts and Scrap?
500 MJ replied to comanche09's topic in The Pub
Might not hurt to flush some water into the frame rails & nooks and crannys until you get clean water coming out of them, THEN start the drying process... -
So... what parts did you end up needing? I'm soon going to be doing exactly what you are doing with my '98 TJ AX-15 in to the '88 MJ...

Very cool Dave, I was going to get the VIN from our Ahem "files" at home when I was home next and do this too. I'll fill in on the info you didn't have: 1990, Jeep Comanche, Pioneer. Stock Configuration: 4.0L / AX-15 / NP-231 / D30 / D35 / LWB Notes: Dad and I got our hands on this one a little too late. The story we were told was that the clutch had gone out in it, so the previous owner started to dismantle the truck with his sawzall (he was after the copper wire in the harness). So we hear about it and go get it before he takes it to the junkyard. The damage was done. It would have taken a complete harness to save it, and after he turned it over a few times with his tractor (the huge dents in the roof) it was not worth saving anymore. So we got all the parts we could get from it and finished off what he started. It went to the yard in many pieces, but everything savable was kept. The truck had 180,904.7 miles on it. EVERYTHING savable was kept, including the cluster. :clapping: The truck had turbines on it when we got it, P.O. wanted them back for the alum. weight. We put the steelies on it to move it around the yard. My Dad is no longer going to use the driveline from this truck for his project, so all those parts became mine :D Good to have spares, the AX-15 and NP-231 from this truck are what are currently putting the power to the ground in my '88. He is using the front axle and steering column though. We sold a few of the other parts off, some to Dave who started this thread. Current Location: Multiple vehicles on the road today. Status: Parted. Current owner: The big yard in the sky. This page was last updated on 7-5-2010.

1989, Jeep Comanche, Pioneer. Stock Configuration: 4.0L / BA-10 / D35 / LWB Notes: I took a trip last weekend to the UP of Michigan and I stopped into a yard along the way to see if they had any MJs that I could pick some parts from. Also gave me a break from my 6.5 hour drive. They said they had one out back by the railroad tracks and so I wandered out there and found this old guy. Its been hit in the rear, box - tailgate - bumper - taillights are toasted. Its got a dark blue interior with a bench seat and tilt column (the first dark blue interior I've seen aside from my '88, I took a few interior parts for spares). Sliding rear window with a window pane busted. Nothing really special about it, it doesn't have many parts left on it. Engine bay has been pretty well picked over... I personally found this one interesting though as it has the same color interior and exterior as my '88 did when I got it. The dark blue / dark blue thing must have been pretty common to have together... Resting peacefully now, watching the daily run of CN trains to and from the Upper Peninsula go by on the tracks right in front of it. Build date: Not Known Mileage: 280,XXX, I think  Current Location: Corey's Auto Salvage - U.S. 41, Ingalls, MI 49848-9205 (906) 753-4165 Status: Wrecked / Parts Current owner: Corey's Auto Salvage This page was last updated on 7-5-2010.

http://www.frozenrotors.com From their site: "The name says it all: we freeze brake rotors...rock solid. We use a deep-cryogenic process that permanently changes the atomic structure of a rotor at 300 degrees below zero. We’ve got answers to any technical question you might have. But the real truth is our rotors will stop any vehicle cold! In the past six years, we’ve developed an avid following of "Raving Fans" that will tell you (in their own words no less) that their brakes don’t fade, don’t warp and last two to four times longer. And any racer will tell you races are more likely to be won with the brake pedal rather than the accelerator." I have a set of these (Frozen Rotors Slotted model) on the front end of my '90 2wd and I LOVE them... Generic parts house rotors weren't going to cut it for me when I wanted to redo the front brakes last year, I wanted something worth putting on the truck now with the truck's future in mind. This might be something to look into for you too maybe?

Yah, I've got access to one in the local yard. Would you like the whole thing or just the TPS off of it? I ask what you want to pay because I'm not about to lose money on something like this and once I know your top dollar I can then go see what I can get it for at the yard? :dunno:

LKQ Trip and Meet and Greet > July 3, 4, 5, 2010?

WHY do they always do this half off deal on holidays. They would get so much more business if they did it on days when people were around and not on vacation. I won't be there, I've had a trip planned to the U.P. for the last few months over the weekend of the 4th. Have fun for me. :headpop: -

Keep me in the loop if you take that 10 slot off of it. I hoard them like they are going out of style (cause in reality they are...) -
That hood would be sweet to hang on a shop wall...

Thats rough. Before I owned my Jeeps, I owned a few S-10s. One had an interior fire in it and I bought it from a junkyard with all the parts to fix it. Worked out well, that truck got me through 4 years bridging high school to college before I sold it to my best friend, he is still driving it. Your fire looks like it was a bit worse though. One thing I've learned from seeing a few guy's MJ's go up in flames is that I carry a fire extinguisher in both of my MJs. It sits right at the floor on the drivers side of the cab, VERY accessible at a seconds notice. I'd say start sanding the worst spots of the steel before you cut the roof off. You never know, that steel may still be good.

Somewhere along the line that truck got a 10 slot grille put on it. An '89 should have an 8 slot grille. Previous work done on the front end...? - something to look into. Also, thats a BIG dent to push out and make right. I think your best bet is to get a new roof like you said. Good Luck!
