Yah it does! I'm surprised you paint in your shop! We always do ours outside, get a little bit of dust from time to time but they are Jeeps and most of it will rub out...

Gas Mileage Issues - Now AW4 Issues

Well, we did pull the fuse and found out that the tranny worked great. So we replaced the TPS and it works just fine now. Kinda odd how it was good before and bad after I put it all back together. Weird how things like that work sometimes. - Thanks for the help guys. - Brent -
I was amazed to find duct tape in the original harnesses as well.

KEEP THEM. Good luck getting the paint to match after its faded over all of the years. Granted it is white but you will still notice a difference in its texture.

"This is the collectable long bed addition…" Where I come from we spell it "edition" -
Where I am from in Mi. that would be around the $600-800 range. 2x4 really hurts it, that same truck in 4wd would be over $1000

So I readjusted that thing and it did nothing. Seems to me that the only other possibility is the TPS? If it worked fine before, why isnt it now? :hateputers: -

How do you go about adjusting it? -
Solved this a while back. Turned out that I had a bad socket on the front end. Replaced the bad one and then the other one went a few weeks later. Got the new sockets from Carquest - they are steel and ran about $5 each if I remember right. I don't know why it did it when I swapped out the gauges. Must have been just a little bit difference in resistance of the clusters...?

I had blowby really bad and a simple cleaning of the tube from the valve cover to the airbox to get the gunky oil solved about 95% of the problem. I took it off the engine and ran wire coat hanger down it a few times and pushed a whole bunch of sludge out of it.

Ok. Got the new manifold on and whoopie, the engine runs so nicely now and idles right back down around 600 range. Very Nice. ;) Just for good measure I take the Jeep out and run it down the road and the AW4 doesnt want to shift out of 1st gear. Here we go again. If its not one thing its the other. Some Notes: - I found that the manifold was NOT cracked, rather the stud on the rear of the head broke off so the exhaust was leaking around the gasket which toasted the old gasket right out. As we were cleaning the head to mount the new gasket I noticed that the CPS connector was melted a bit, but it still worked. I plan on replacing this next weekend (I didnt have a scrap male connector on hand when I was in there and I wanted to get the Jeep running ASAP). I wouldnt think that this would be related at all to the trans problem but I might be wrong. Also, while I was under the hood I swapped in a different starter as the one we had was giving us some issues and a complete set of fuel injectors (the previous set was mismatched and I wanted a entire set that I knew was good, were OEM parts and were uniformly used). However, this new uniform set DID come from a I6 with a manual trans. Again I don't think that it would matter but I might be wrong. - Any thoughts on why it won't shift? I don't see anything that I forgot to hook up and I've had lots of people look at it with no luck. Fluid level is fine and it shifted like a charm prior to taking the manifolds off to swap in this new gasket. Kick-down cable and everything is hooked up as far as I can see but I know somewhere is probably a simple connector that I missed. One more reason to dislike automatics. :hateputers: -
Yah. I did hear that they started to offer that UV stuff for the bedliner after I sold the second truck I put Herc in. Never used it, don't know if its good or not. I did get the rockers sprayed with a different type of paint than the bedliner. Its a rockerguard specific product and its color matchable to the paint so you don't see it until you are close up. Had the body shop do it at the same time they did the bedliner. You can see that here before I shot paint: Here are some of the new pics I mentioned. Got my winter wheels/tires and mesh gate on for the salt season. My Jeep's bachelor pad.

Took these the day afterI got the truck back downstate to my home and got it washed up. Cleaned up pretty good. After I took these pics I proceeded to pull the bench and carpet to find a solid floor. That about made my day ;) Took the carpet out to the pressure wash rack and cleaned it up. You would be amazed what hot water and a bit of degreaser and scrubbing can do to old dirty carpet. Thats about where I left it. Had to get back up to college. Hope to get the interior put back together over spring break and install some bucket seats in the place of that old bench when I do. 6 cylinders of power. Farmboy must have taken it for one last romp in the field before he put the for sale sign in it. Thats about as much mud as I wash off of my '88 after I get done playing.
