  1. Does anyone have experience with the cable-type transfer case shifters? Are there ones to buy or ones to stay away from? I know that Azzy and Novak make shifter linkages for these 231s for XJ/MJs, but I'm swapping a 231 into my Eagle (feel free to move this because it isn't directly MJ), so those won't work. Right now, I'm really liking this option. I'd go with the flush mounted unit. https://jb-custom-fabrication.myshopify.com/products/cable-shifter-single-np231-billet-style-p-n-np231j-1

    Old and New

I’ve got some new and old back before my truck had stripes, chrome, and the sportbar. And also plenty of old and old. The j10 is my brother’s truck.
  3. For what it’s worth, they fit really well on K5 Blazer frames. This was my brothers parts truck that became a project.
  4. What's the plan with it?
  5. I see you used ICT billet accessory mounts. Are they for trucks, Corvettes, or Camaros/GTOs?
  6. It’ll take you probably about the same amount of time to cut it out and replace it as it will to mess around with some of these other “fixes”
  7. Being that you want a 4.5" lift, have you looked into going SOA? That would be a little more lift than you are looking for, but it would be cheaper than leaf springs.
  8. Welcome! Rough Country is also known for a rough ride on road. Being that this is your first car, I'm also going to venture a guess that its your only car and your daily driver. You probably want comfort for daily driving. If you want a small lift, consider doing a longer shackle and a spring spacer. Its cheaper and will ride better.
  9. To be completely honest, I can not tell you for sure. There is a noticeable power difference with the bored TB, but I also did a high altitude CPS at the same time, which advances the ignition timing. Together they both made a difference in power and fuel economy. Here is what I can tell you: I gained about 1.5 mpg per tank, tested over a few tanks of gas. My truck accelerates much better now and cruises at highway speeds much easier. I can't tell you which one made the larger difference. I can't even for sure tell you that the difference didn't come from just having a clean throttle body, but I'd recommend it. At the end of the day, it is not a very expensive upgrade, even if it doesn't make much difference.
  10. I'd recommend an AMC Eagle. Its comfortable, simple, lots of them had cruise control, and they are all 4x4 or AWD. I drove mine in the winter and never needed 4 wheel drive. They are incredibly capable, plus they share some parts with XJs and MJs (rear axles are similar, 4.2 and 4.0 are same family, amongst other small things I can't remember right now). The downsides are that they can be tricky to find some parts for, but not that bad and the fuel economy isn't great. The only part that is hard to find are lower ball joints. Only Rare Parts reproduces those. Unless you get one with a 5 speed, you won't have overdrive, but you will have 2.72 or 2.35 gears most likely. If you really wanted to, you could probably get 20-22 mpg.
  11. I’ve got a Renix one on my Comanche. His website says this: This was not my experience at all. Mine came back looking like a brand new throttle body. Cannot recommend it enough! I held off on buying one for over a year because I was worried about the finish. Old TB: New bored TB:
  12. I go through this same thing. And going to school on the other side of the country doesn’t help
  13. I am curious about a felt product on the grille guard. Or the softer part of velcro. It is very similar to the hockey tape, but its possibly less reflective.
  14. That is really cool!

    Anyone know

    I follow him on Instagram
  16. Where are you located? I’ve been looking for an LJ
  17. Let's hear how the first day went when you're done!
  18. I believe with the ARB and the Warrior products no modifications to the front fenders/flares/valence need to be made. Any others that I've found require you to cut the fenders.

I'm a little jealous of that ARB bumper.
  20. Congratulations!
  21. If I were to put another aftermarket bumper on my truck, it would be the warrior products. Or an ARB, but those ARBs are expensive.
  22. I’ve always liked them too! It’s super cool having the first tractor I ever rode on.
  23. That makes enough sense to me!
  24. I'm familiar with Hayward. Been a while since I've been there. I'm from over near La Crosse. Right about where I-90 crosses the Mississippi River.
  25. 97-01 hoods will work. Why do you need a hood?
