  1. Hmmmmm, if you want one that’ll rev, I think you can use a 232 crank and make a mini stroker that is more rev happy
  2. You’ve got an excellent block with all of the machine work done, you might as well upgrade IMHO

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas!
  4. I modified the seat brackets yesterday so the drivers seat would sit 2.5” farther back than it did before. It made the car much more comfortable.
  5. Ok, that’s interesting. How do the battery cables look?
  6. Thank you Pete!
  7. Does the engine turn over? Or will the starter not even engage?
  8. Thank you, I will look into that some
  9. Thank you, good to know on the buckets. I don’t mind sitting more vertically. I may also try lifting it some.
  10. Thank you! I’ll have to try that
  11. Right now if I need to tow something, I usually borrow my parents 17 Sierra. I’d like to build an LS swapped squarebody for that though.
  12. I need to sit farther back, but I’d like to avoid being lower if possible
  13. My Comanche still has the stock bench and it does not have enough leg room for me to comfortably drive much more than 15 minutes. My knees get sore if I sit with them bent very long (I know I’m too young to have knee issues, but the doctor said it is what it is. Kinda frustrating, but it is what it is). It isn’t room between the seat and steering wheel that I need, I need to be able to sit with my legs straighter. And I already drive with my left foot up against the firewall. Has anyone found solutions that let you sit with your legs straighter in these trucks?
  14. Not that I know of. What are you looking to find out about it?
  15. Some cool production information: Found here: https://forums.amceaglesden.com/index.php?topic=32617.0 And a neat spotters guide to tell what year an Eagle is at a glance: http://www.n0kfb.org/homepage/amc/eagle/spotting/
  16. Do you have a 4.0 or a 2.5? Tagging @eaglescout526 if it’s a 2.5

The issue I had with lots of Japanese cars were how small everything was. There was no room to do anything

I’ve worked in a body shop since 2021. Out of everything I’ve helped work on, the best designed vehicle that’s relatively new seems to be the 2014-19 Silverado and Sierra pickups. Everything else is pretty much a pain.
  19. This is what I’ve been thinking. My car might have a manual swap in its future
  20. Thank you! These are really good cars, but the transmission does leave some to be desired. @acfortier also has an 86 Wagon and @Eagle_SX4 is another Eagle owner, but his is an SX4 with a stick
  21. Updated the first post with some technical info. I’ll keep doing this as I do some more involved projects on this car. The information on these cars is lacking. The Eagle forum does not compete with Comanche Club, and we’ve got some great admins to thank for that.
  22. And cutting costs in a fairly smart way. I wish more manufacturers would do this. It’s gotta save so much time in engineering and development
  23. I cannot imagine these cars on studded tires. My wagon was unstoppable on all terrains
  24. The distributor will be the same between a carbed 4.0 and a 4.2, I believe. You’ll want one for a 4.2 I think @89eliminator has an MSD setup on his truck, maybe he can shed some light.
