  1. I feel like getting those aftermarket brackets would’ve been simpler but this works too. Haha.
  2. Don’t think I’ve ever seen the chrome on those books fail like that.
  3. Pins 23, 24 and 25 along with making sure it has a good ground.
  4. No problem. Just thought of this. Check to see if you have good continuity to ground. Once I get home I’ll find the pin out for the ECU so we can test continuity from the ECU to the ISA
  5. Ok. ISA. There. IAC is for the 4.0L which is the Idle Air Control. 2.5L has the ISA which is the Idle Speed Actuator. Yes I’m making a stink cause there is a difference and 4.0L guys would get confused and try to help you with something they have never touched. Anywho! If it’s not working like you should and since you verified the motor is working, I would highly suspect the wiring to have damage to it. Either heat or corrosion somewhere. If someone doesn’t post a pin out of the ISA to ECU plug I will get one this evening so you can do a continuity check to make sure there is a break or not. Worst case is there is a exposed wire, it grounded to the engine or intake and fried the circuit that controls the ISA in the ECU. Unless you did an HO swap where you would have the IAC.
  6. x2. Ill get a few people at the cruise in who will come up and say you dont see these anymore. But most folks see an old jeep and walk by without really understanding what the MJ is. Now I am really curious how its gonna be when I have both the XJ and MJ at the cruise in together.
  7. Have you verified the output of the CPS? .02VAC is the absolute bare minimum Renix will trigger the coil off of.
  8. Yeah. Anything on our Jeeps will have an 89 or even an EF or SF with an 89 in front of the number, those are all AMC. Chrysler dropped the 89 to merge AMC with theirs.
  9. That time of year again to start goin to the cruise in every saturday, showin her off and happily educate people on the MJ and hear some stories and share memories. Yes I know its not saturday but I just remembered I had this pic haha.
  10. One thing I couldn’t help notice was no mention of grounds. Are all those clean?
  11. Hahahaha that’s a pretty good project name.
  12. Thats true Pete. I did do the pioneer decals on my truck. Course I had someone help me and I paid very close attention on how to do it. And that’s where I got the confidence to do this.
  13. Lol!! Sadly this is true. But if this wasn’t NOS decal, I’d fiddle with it more. That and the limited part of the decal is not friendly to moving.
  14. If I still worked at a mopar dealer I would’ve helped you out as much as I could’ve. I remember there being a couple valve covers still around for the thing as NOS.
  15. The more I look and see it, the harsher I can be on my self for the job I did. But to do this by myself in an hour, sun beating down, heat rising and taking my time with the patience to keep it straight while fighting such of a reminder to do so, I think I can come away proud of what I did and how good it still looks. Thus giving birth to the "84 Limited Concept" idea(Thanks Carter!). No, the name isnt changing of the project but I like the sound of that title. Heres putting on the pin-striping for the first time solo It goes to show you are your own worst critic but the job I did is growing on me.
  16. Ohhhh yeha. Id show yall the rest but I am not proud of the job that I did in little over an hour.
  17. Lol. I am doing the same for one of my Jeep wheels that got trashed. Rather than recycle it, I’ll just use it to keep my hose tidy. Now if I had to guess, I would guess one style is the early like what would be found on YJs/XJs and MJs while the other could be a TJ styling and needed that center hole to be bigger for the different axle shaft ends. Just a guess. I don’t really have the access to give definitive answers anymore.
  18. Front air shocks are in. Pretty easy actually. I think the only thing I hated was how the instructions said to tie the lines to the brakes and then have them go to the front bumper where the fill nozzle is which kinda has the hoses back tracking but it keeps the lines out of any crush points. If I raise the shocks too high, Chunk will look like the front end of the DeLorean in Back to the Future Part III haha.
  19. This makes me laugh. I have a couple memorized but they’re stupid easy like the fog lamp switch. 52000025. But other times it’s just having the privilege to own the parts books or having worked at a mopar. I do enjoy this build and look forward to more! Congrats!
  20. I remember the MJ in this movie. Hilarious movie too.
  21. Believe it or not, the rear wiper circuit is completely separate from the front wiper unlike todays vehicles. So any wiper delay module will do. And you can’t just stuff the module in and have wiper delay. You’ll need the switch from the column too.
  22. Really? I could’ve swore I’ve seen them as the same part number too. Guess I’ll be looking at my 86 parts book to double check.
  23. Lol!! Hopefully that’s it.
