Actually I like the idea, It is pretty smart and better than relying on say 30 year old door card to hold the map pocket in place if you were to carry a FSM of Chiltons manual around. That being said, the fabric also has to be up to the challenge. Quick question, did you consider going with the original carpet like back when you made that?

Cost to probably put those in, plus you could get map pockets in the door.

Problem with that is you’d have more work than it is worth to do. Not to mention the MJs frame construction is not the traditional body on frame like you think. It’s a uniframe design. Meaning the bed is on a frame but the cab forward is unibody like it’s XJ sibling.

Right, I have a 2.5L, trying to help. That is the TPS that mounts to the back of the TB and it should be flush. You are right about the arm should just sit right on top of the TPS arm and actuate. The front is the ISA motor and that’s a different animal on its own. I’ll break out my TBI manual this evening to help provide info on the TPS.

That’s a Jeep special Leer camper shell.

TPS voltage signal will make it act funny as it tells the ECU how much fuel it needs to dump into the engine to keep up with the acceleration and what not. The TPS is supposed to be flush with the TB and the linkage shouldn’t have any obstruction to the TPS arm. So you could’ve found your problem. But just keep an eye on it for a bit and see if it acts up.

Ah, makes sense. Compression test ought to still help show the health of the engine. As far as the TPS, test it and see what it’s readings are with the key on engine off. You want to make sure it’s getting 5 volts to the sensor and the TBI manual says output and wide open throttle should be around 4.64(could be wrong, have to look) volts.

You're comparing FCA crap VS AMC Engineering at its finest here though. Sure the JT(not tarnishing the original J-truck name) can carry your family or friends for the weekend trip but it has a lot more disadvantages when comparing it to a real Jeep truck. While the MJ is a single cab, you are getting a legendary engine/trans combo, more bed and simplistic reliability in one package. And an MJ this clean and this low of mileage is not a truck that you find laying around and what they are asking seems a tad high but within all the reason here.
