  1. I would like to just do a PSA since I couldnt find the internal difference anywhere via pics or word so I took it into my own hands to figure it out and I am glad I did lol. 16: 23.5: don't worry, I plan to clean it out before use. BUT! Note the shorter vent pipe. And only reason why I did this as the tank I bought a while back from a member in CA didnt have the tank ID plate on it so I had to find out and verify. External differences 23/16 tank: Dims: (from lip to lip) 37"L 17 1/2"W ~15H 18 tank: Dims: ? 16 and 23 side by side
  2. SOLVED!! 16 gallons have a short lever arm! Thats why the gauge can go past full! So 18 and 23 share the same sending unit according to the catalog which means I can now sell those three sending units! Look at that arm! Its like a babys arm compared to the ones I have.
  3. Just a bit younger than Chunk by a month. jdog found one a while back that was made in 83.

  5. All the 84-86 external slave parts have been acquired including a NOS clutch kit which is awesome. Gonna swap out the flywheel too just because I broke a bolt off a while back when changing out the clutch a couple years ago. But it’s gonna be a great swap to do.
  6. That’s hell of a find.
  7. Actually that is right. No one took them. Chrysler offered the short block with no cam or lifters. At least that’s what the catalog tells me.
  8. Where in the hell!? Did you find a NOS 4.0L short block?
  9. Ooo they look good on there.
  10. I think the problem with doing that is possible torque converter issue and output spline shaft count and mounting. A Chrysler torque flight A900 series was behind the 2.5L from the factory for the AMC years.
  11. Lol he’s gonna make me broke the way I buy parts from him.

  13. Yeah, swap the pumps around and youre golden. Nothing much different from the sending unit and the tank.
  14. Yeah it just came to me as I was walking to my MJ to go home. I think it is because I ordered some vintage AC parts from Vintage and one of the counter guys commented about my NOS serp belt which honestly doesnt bother me, I have a few as back ups, and he said vintage parts don't have a warranty and I think that stuck to me. Agreed. Same with a hobbyist and an enthusiast.
  15. Agreed and now that I think about it, I think it boils down to the warranty aspect of the parts life. If it’s the last one and it’s faulty, there’s not much you can do for the customer and that makes sense to me why they don’t go the extra mile for everyone. I did that once for a guy who brought his Aspen in the shop and everything was discontinued for the TBI but a dealer had the plug which no one, not even me, could find the plug for.
  16. Lol pretty much and I hate it cause they teach us to go that extra mile with the customer but they don’t say anything about what to do with a discontinued part when a customer calls. My wholesale guys ask me about the older Jeep parts when those guys call to see if I have it or not in my stash.
  17. I would check all the latches that are bolted to the bed itself and see if they are tweaked. When I had my truck repainted I took all the hardware off and a lot of the welded nuts broke off so they had a little bit of adjustment to play with to get them right.
  18. Well, see that’s that’s the problem. Most dealers don’t want to help with NOS parts and most employees won’t go the length to get it for you either. Which is where I come in for us all. A dealer in NY shows to have it on there shelf. But list price is $156 on it if you go after it yourself. Shoot me a PM and we can talk more about it if you’d like.
  19. There is one harness kit left but Chrysler wants a premium on it.
  20. Lol I do. Actually they’re all 2 door XJ pieces but hey, cut to fit.
  21. Your bumper looks like it might be playing with your eyes too.
  22. I try to have some goodies in stock. Sometimes they go fast, others become a special order if they’re the last one left. Shoot me a PM and I can let you know what’s around still.
