I actually really like to cook and if I can try to make as much from scratch as possible. Takes a lot longer but healthier and delicious. Here's one of my favs. Something you should do a day before to marinate the steak but can do it with a 30 minute marinate too. Cuban steak with avocado rive and pineapple chimichurri. Chimichurri ingredients 1 1/4 cups fresh cilantro, chopped 1 cup diced pineapple 1 Fresno chile pepper, seeded + chopped 1 clove garlic, minced or grated 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup olive oil juice of 1 lime kosher salt and pepper In a bowl, combine the pineapple, cilantro, fresno pepper, garlic, vinegar, olive oil, and lime juice. Keep stored in the fridge for up to 1 week. Cuban steak ingredients 2 pounds skirt steak, thinly sliced cut against the grain super important. 1/4 cup olive oil 8 cloves garlic, minced or grated 1/4 cup fresh oregano, chopped 2 teaspoons cumin 2 dried bay leaves juice from 2 limes 1 teaspoon kosher salt and pepper 2 sweet onions, thinly sliced 1/2 cup green olives 1 avocado, sliced steamed riced, for serving In a large ziplock bag, combine the steak, olive oil, garlic, oregano, cumin, bay leaves, lime juice, salt and pepper. Seal the bag and toss well to combine. Place in the fridge overnight. Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil and the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the steak and cook 5-8 minutes or until cooked to your liking. Remove from the heat and stir in the olives. To serve, divide the rice among bowls and top with steak, chimichurri and avocado. enjoy!

Does anyone run em or know a lot about the chevy 63" leaf swap? I know it can be done but not finding a lot of info on someone doing it for a MJ. Was thinking of doing those with some sliders for a rear set up. Fine stretching the WB bed is gone and rear will have plenty of room to work with. 4 link would be ideal but not wanting to drop that much coin

Even as a restomo D60 is overkill. Maybe a HP44 and 9, but ton's IMHO only are needed for those with big rubbers 37+ and beating on their rig. Heck a mildy built D30 and 8.25 can hold up to 35's if you're not mashing the gas through a rock field. Also tons aren't just something you put a truss on and go. Steering has to changed, not should be has to be. You're going to need to swap in some brake stuff, drive shafts. The list goes on. There's not going to be a ton enjoyable about 35's and tons for just poking around town. Maybe on a full size rig but a MJ is plenty awesome just running in decent stock form. As suggested first get it running and take care of all of the cruiser tips (www.cruiser54.com).

First, ditch the junk country and at 6.5 your going to need long arms. Short arms aren't going to work...... Why do you want to run a D60 for something that will see more on road time then off?

Well guess its lucky. Still swap it out.

Looking for a low range option
Smokeyyank replied to JasonB's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
33s now but will move up to 35s. The 4.30s should be fine for the 33s but for 35s feel I'll need some more umph especially at elevation. I ran 33s on my XJ on 410s and always wished I had deeper gears. Thats was with the aw4 and Inknow the ax15 allows a little higher gear. Don't want to regear either so enter the underdrive/doubler. 100% Trail rig truggy I'll drive around but not far. Trails are with within driving distance too. Planning on stretching the WB so not worried about the extra length. Going to dove nose it, bed is already gone so will fab something. Boat siding it too. Will take a bit as I got home stuff to do but will be a nice project. -

Bringing this back up as I have a question. I'm familiar with the underdrives but was starting to look at the doublers too, specifically a 231/D300. This thread was 4 years ago so just wondering if most of this is still the same? I'm more thank likely going to be grabbing a project MJ that I will hack up into a true tail rig. Already has waggy 44's 4.30's, ax15 and a 242. So the questions would it be better to swap in a underdrive and get a SYE for the 242, do a doubler, or.....? -
The places I listed are 100% dedicated to the platform (XJ/MJ/WJ etc), everything is made here stateside by people that give a damn with quality materials. They also wheel what they make and know what they are building and why. They take pride in their work and build things to last. RC and the others make things for people who want the look but not the function. Things are made overseas or slapped together. End of the day choice is yours but if you are spending the money might as well support a shop that's here and wants to amke quality parts.

Took 3 hours and they overturned it because people where lining up around the block. Beer is saved!
-
Shutdown the lq and pot shops too. My buddy downvthere said people are lining up at the liquor stores. I'm already stressed enough about an impending beer shortage once this is all over. Really hope eagle county doesnt follow suit. Haha yes, freaking hilarious. Agreed, sucks that the ones that will suffer are small businesses. What really chaps me is big corporations asking for bailouts. Go fist yourself.....sorry don't care if your CEO making 6 figures misses hit yacht payment. Personally I think they should suffer the same fate as the rest.

Thanks looked at it a few I've already reached out to. Not saying they a crazy out of line but I was suspecting closer to 1k. I'll keep looking and see. I know sometimes the smaller guys that just have a dually with a car hauler are a cheaper.
-
Thanks I reached out. Will see what they say.

I have an account there already but haven't posted a listing. I also gone through just about all the other online spots. Part of what makes it tricky is MJ is not running so a lot of those carriers require the vehicle to be brought to a spot and then loaded. Pick up form a residential spot for a non running get's to be tricky.

Question I'm considering getting a MJ from out East (19014) to Colorado (80465). First, anyone do/know someone that does that haul to bring a MJ this way? Two, any ideas on something else? I've reached out to a few transportation places and am getting quotes ranging from $1,300-1600. That seems a little high. last vehicle I had shipped from AZ up here was $400. I was guessing somewhere closer to $1kish. Thanks

Happy friday! Double ipa from nightmare brewing in Boston. Pretty good overall, can art was sweet. Pic doesnt do it justice.

That's because of the health concerns. I get what you are saying but two way different things. Here's a good little illustration about it why people need to stay home, not go out and not gather in large groups. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/ 277 current cases in CO and 51 in Eagle county alone. My county is about 54k full time residents. Denver has 49 cases 620k residents form 2011 censuses numbers. Our case rate has doubled since last Friday and will continue to grow very fast. This is barely the start. I would rather be proactive about trying to isolate versus continuing with the current state. Luckily, our hospital has been very proactive about it. They started prepping January but still wasn't enough time to get ready and don't really think the full scope was known and still isn't. My assumption is end of June is a realistic time frame to expect some control if aggressive counter measure are in place, otherwise fall or into next year.

Nope, no one is protesting. The problem is no one here took action soon enough. So it's been running rampant. It will continue to mutate and become more deadly if not put in check. This was a zoonotic virus and look at how quickly it jumped from animal to human and human to human transmission. Yes it sucks forcing people to stay inside but if those that are too ignorant to do it for the greater good wipe em out. This will overwhelm our healthcare system. So while the virus may not directly affect you, when you or one of your loved ones needs medical care and your unable to get it how's that going to affect you then?

It's going to be easier to find a real unicorn. He might be lucky to find a CJ, doubtful a J series. Classic jeeps under 2k with minimal rust are not around often unless they are just a body. Even then still not often.
