Looking for a cargo area light
ghetdjc320 replied to Coastal NC Jeeper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a cargo light kit in the works right now. It’s a real nice LED setup that really lights up the bed and surrounding space. Should have them available in mid July. Keep an eye on the vendors section for an update. Works well as either a replacement for the oem one or a new install -
Jackson's 4.0 Stroker build
ghetdjc320 replied to Jack15379's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ahh, one last one that comes to mind is Clifford. The quality is ok and there is a dual exhaust header option they have. But their customer support is so terrible.- 28 replies

Newcomer Racing and Skankfoot Racing both make a flange for the 4.0 to build a custom set of headers as well.- 28 replies

Jackson's 4.0 Stroker build
ghetdjc320 replied to Jack15379's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The nicest header I’ve come across that’s not custom made and is currently available is from AFE. Super clean welds, thick tubing and a good all around design. I run a ceramic coated Gibson currently and it’s also a well made unit. The Banks is very popular but quality has been a bit low lately. The APN/eBay/summit header does not last and will start cracking at the collector in short order. The Dorman stock manifold with the flex joint last a good while but doesn’t flow any better than oem. The old Borla was also a super nice header but unfortunately is no longer available.- 28 replies

Yep, fuel pressure regulator. So it’s a returnless system that runs the correct obd2 psi for the 97+ XJ?

HO vs Renix
ghetdjc320 replied to Dickinson County Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Problem with Renix is there just isn’t as much parts availability. The HO head design was also better flowing but as you mentioned, depends on where you want your power at. Sbec can be fully tuned once socketed. So, if the renix fuel management system was on an HO engine, what are the power numbers? -
Does the Dakota sending unit have the fpr built into it. Obd2 swaps always miss that step it seems like

The replacement tube is only $3.25 and is properly molded already to fit around the frame rail and the ac housing -

OBD1 to OBD2 conversion
ghetdjc320 replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah, it works great for cop or cnp setups. Just make sure to grab the Crown version instead of the oem Mopar one. There is a tsb on the Mopar one. It has a poor bushing design that doesn’t get good lubrication and fails. The Crown one is a revised design. -

HO vs Renix

Why. It just go with the obd1 ecu? It’s fairly straightforward to make it a stand alone engine management system -
Nice fitment!

Any reason you don’t want to use the opda? Opda with the stock coil rail or a viper coil works very well. -

ghetdjc320 replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Have you considere socketing the obd1 ecu and have Chris tune it? He can dial in that ecu and get it perfect. I’ve used HP tuners along with Holley and mega squirt. Chris can tune that obd1 to equal if not better results than most people get with a dyno tune. He tunes a lot of Russ Potengers builds -

ghetdjc320 replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
How much do you want to integrate the obd2 system? You could just use a 91 obd1 harness and an adapter for an obd2 ecu. There is a guy that posted here once that I’ve kept in contact with who is making them. Or… if your just wanting obd2 for the tuning, consider that the 91+ sbec obd1 ecus can be fully reprogrammed for about $350 by THE Jeep 4.0 and stroker tuning guru. Option 3 is a nice Holley terminator x system. Self tuning and runs a 4.0 based engine beautifully. $1050 without timing control and $1350+ with. -

There is an AC vent hose that goes through the firewall. If it’s missing the rubber downspout it will leak back into the cab. -
Sorry to hijack but do you have the specs for the 91 also? Not sure if my capacity changed much with my plate and fin evaporator and the newer condenser. Going to replace my drier, flush, vacuum and refill when I get back

Front bumper ideas please.
ghetdjc320 replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not a bad looking bumper. A bit large but it would look a little bare without a winch.
