macro shot of the round tag at the back of the t-case?

You are patching over a unibody... there is no such thing as overkill.

So, taking pics of my 88 longbed today for the sale I noticed something I had not seen before... Jeep emblem on the bedmat. Looked closer, and in the corner of the mat in small raised font "JEEP COMANCHE" I'll post pics later today... just thought it was a pretty cool find.

any other details? Mileage? Powertrain?

Meanwhile, Denver (usually 30-40 with white stuff right now) is hovering between 50 and 60.

As we all know, the ticking is usually just the exhaust valves... There *could* be additional mechanical issues though

Thats a SICK setup. I stole those photo's from posts over on JF... it is almost impossible to find pics of heater hose routing on RENIX 4.0's.
-
The basic flow is from the thermostat housing, through the heater valve to the heater core, then back to the water pump.

I hate the 904... my family has had a dozen chrysler/dodge products with it. I would flush it and drop in a new filter. Always a good start. Generally when they let go, you get nothing at all or grinding. Being too full can also cause issues. Do the flush, and switch to a atf+4 instead of +3.

fluid level down?
-
It lets heat escape the engine bay, but thats it. It otherwise doesn't help with cooling the engine itself, and introduces a greater chance of hydrolocking if you hit the water hard, of frying your ECU if you see heavy rains, etc. Its not too expensive to get a great cooling setup, so vents should not be used, IMO.

yep, bent or broken leafs. Usually we tilt to the drivers side. ;)

Is this a good deal?

If you don't mind work, its a decent Jeep... But its going to need a cage and some boatsides. As I said above, I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it. All you are really buying is a low-milage powertrain. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthre ... =boatsides -
You need to look for the coolant leak. Hoses, water pump, radiator, bottle. Its leaking from somewhere. You are so low on coolant that the heater core is not getting any fluid. When you cool down, squeze the upper radiator hose and feel if its empty or full. My guess is empty.

I think its 75w90, but you can use 80w90 (its cheaper). 2.5 quarts, IIRC (fill till it comes out the fill plug) And about the fill plug.... its a 8mm recessed square. Most people either shave down a 3/8 ratchet or cut up a 8mm allen. Take the fill/drain plugs to NAPA and swap with a standard fill plug if you intend on keeping the BA for a while.

Here in CO, that's a $2k truck based on the cancer. It would be $1k, but you are buying a low milage 4.0 -

I would be VERY cautious of the cancer on that one. The drivetrain may be great, but that one was ABUSED to be in a dry climate (TX) and have that much rust. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... f=national -
Looking for the cheapest, yet effective lift.

Stay away from Rusty's and Rough Country. I know people that went from RC to F150 coils and the ford coils rode better. -
KJ renegade Lightbar on an MJ
mkbruin replied to Dirteatr717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Whats the light rating on the Renegade bar? I can't find in anywhere.... I can't imagine it would be more than, or equal to an aftermarket offroad light like the Autopal's I linked to earlier. It may look prettier, but what about function.... -

It works the same as any other AAL.... -

1-1.5" You can fit 31's stock with rubbing, this alleviates the rubbing (but doesn't allow much uptravel for heavy offroad use). Example: MJ on 31's on factory suspension, front trimming. -
This may sound silly.... and I don't mean to insult your intelligence.... Were the leafs put back on the right way? Nothing was inverted? something about what you aer saying just doesn't make any sense....

The spring isolater (basically a 'puck') on the Camaro's will fit the XJ/MJ and give anywhere from 3/4 to 1.5", depending on who you ask. -
97 was the transition year.
