  1. That's not really all that early in the model year. 86 models would have started appearing in Oct./Nov. 85...
  2. No matter what combination you try.. you are never going to make the 4.0l sound like a V-8... You will end up with a much flatter exhaust note, and not the classic rumble at all.
  3. Prices for the bed mat in the 1988 Factory Accessories catalog. Mat: $107.10 Tailgate Cover: $109.10 :ack:
  4. My double flare kit came with a tubing cutter... do the cheap-o ones not come with them?
  5. Its a cracked wire in the wiring harness behind the steering column... My 94 did exactly the same thing. Cost me a heap to finally find it. Nice truck.. good power.. it could tow and haul as much as larger trucks. At the time hated having to get an auto to have a 5.2l.
  6. Considering how dirt simple and easy Renix are to work on... that's a pretty big compliment. It's OBD-I owners and their constant pissing and moaning about Renix's that are tough to live with. But hey... what do I know... 211k on my ZJ and still going. Nothing matches a V-8 power slide on a snowy night.....
  7. A better question is what do you expect from it?? It's not a tin can full of magic, its a strong solvent.
  8. Please don't bring C4C into any discussion on reliability. It had nothing what-so-ever to do with reliability. The politics of C4C and the fact that the majority of the owners of C4C vehicles never should have purchased the turned in vehicle in the first place. The owners really needed whatever sedan they turned the SUV's in on in the first place. The market conditions and herd mentality kept them from getting the vehicle that actually served their needs correctly. BTW.. every Ford truck I have owned has been as reliable as my Jeeps... their cars have been somewhat emm,, lacking??
  9. Do you live up north or down south??? Winter gas is upon us... with all that entails...
  10. Why would you want to wreck Rob??? He will get bored and sell those MJ's soon enough, that he can buy your next project off of you...
  11. Are you checking all the vacuum lines... I see one in the first picture capped with a bolt... Vacuum leaks is a MAJOR issue with that Chevy carb set-up.
  12. Don't forget to get the vin and post the data in the registry... Even though its headed to meet its maker.. we can still know its fate.
  13. 2-1/2 inch PVC Schedule 40 pipe... 2 hose clamps...One you already have on your stock intake tube.
  14. I have had over 2400 lbs in my Metric Tonne... Springs weren't the problem... the brakes were. It was not much fun trying to stop that load.
  15. The adapter would screw onto the oil filter mount and the lines would run from there to wherever the mount was attached. The actual filter mounts look like the ones Mvusse posted.
  16. World Fastest Comanche Congrats Peter!!
  17. You should find new people.. :D Actually... I asked him IF it had a relocation or by-pass on it. I have never seen one on a Comanche or Cherokee 4-Litre and wanted to see its placement. I also told him to look for the adapter and lines...Its all in his other thread on this subject.
  18. Well.. Jeep is owned by Italians... So now... its an Italian Jeep vs. a Jap SUV...kinda takes CR's well documented anti-US bias out of it.
  19. Better let your mom see the picture of Angela on the couch.... Of course now I can f' off around here all day tomorrow instead of going back to the JY again.
  20. Accel, Mallory and MSD all made one at one point. Jacobs made one as part of their DUI system. But all apparently no longer do....
  21. I'll be there...the kids don't have anything planned for me...
  22. Its an insert you can get to put in the surround. They used to come in brushed stainless, aluminum and a couple of colors, and a carbon fibre looking one. This is the brushed stainless when its installed...

    FLYMO

I remember a buddy's family having a flymo... They worked good as long as you had a pretty level yard and wanted your grass cut SHORT. They would use theirs until the dog days of summer set in and you would burn the crud out of the grass if it was cut too short.
  24. I'm not sure how bad a sooling problem is... but yes V-8 conversions can be fraught with cooling problems... on a side note... not being a Dodge guy.. Was the 360 all that common in the Dodge p/u's of that era?? The 318 would have been the "normal" V-8 correct?
  25. It won't pop into gear... but a knob is your concern.. why not unscrew it??
