  1. I don't go to the Home Despot or Yuppy Hardware for anything... But I do have Menard's flares on my wheeler.

    Wife wants...

To answer your question... All of them after 1983 are 360s. They get AWFUL gas mileage in stock form. But turn heads. If you are really interested in one... take a long read at IFSJA.org. There is more collective knowledge about them there, than one person could ever need. And they are quite friendly, especially to folks wanting to join their lunacy. Deals are around... but they can be harder to find. But with rising gas prices.. you may see more of them being sold cheaply.
  3. If he needs to borrow one for an extended mock-up situation of rear bumpers or LWB parts... I think I know where I can find one that is waiting around.....
  4. This is a totally stupid question. We all know that there were no shortbed 1986 Comanches. Never say never before Chrysler screwed Jeep up... AMC would sell anything they thought they could.

    LKQ Trip?

Wedding planning???? How hard is it to call the tux place??? The rest is 'her' responsibility...
  6. ECM is the stock unit out of the donor vehicle. Part number is 1227747... same ECM that Howell sells with their kit. Hmmm.. I will have to go do some more reading... the FSJ guys all talk about having to get a new PROM burned. I might be confusing the 6-cyl version of the swap with the V-8 version.
  7. What did you use for the ECM and did you change the programming in it??

    mudspace

A what?? Is that supposed to be a less-ghey version of myspace?
  9. Lincoln... you are paying for a name and the oversized bonuses they hand out to employees. I actually have that HF machine... realize what it is and what it isn't and you will be alot happier with your decision. First.. the HF wire SUCKS.... get better wire, makes a world of difference with it. Second... cleanliness of your work pieces matter. With only two voltage settings(and flux core wire) you need the work pieces as clean as possible to get good welds. Flux core likes to splatter and with only two voltage settings sometimes it can be a bit tough to keep the heat under control. I have welded 2x2x.25 square tubing with the welder. BUT... it had to completely clean and make more than one pass with it to get decent penetration. I have also welded as thin as 18 gauge and lots of exhaust tubing. Anything thinner is really a challenge, even the low setting on the machine has you either leaving huge splatter and crap welds, or blowing through the material. Having gas and using solid wire would make a big difference.
  10. Hellcreek Suspensions is a forum sponsor and makes very good products. However he does not create his own front end components. Using his rear end pieces and any good XJ vendors front end parts would give you a good solution.
  11. Rob... A. your fat intake is WAAAYYY too high for a skinny young guy like you... B. Set the clock on your stove.
  12. Not gonna happen. A Dana 44 out of what vehicle? NO MJ or XJ had a Dana 44 in front. Not true... Export model XJ/MJ's did... We had a member here from South America that had a an MJ with a D-44 in the front.
  13. The bad parts supplier experiences I have had... I went in trying to get some spring pack clamps, as I had a used lift I had installed and wanted to bind the springs up before they had any problems sliding around... Counter monkey first spends five minutes arguing that I had coil springs rather than leaves... Until I finally told him to walk out in the parking lot and stick his ignorant head under the Jeep... Then the little @$$ says.. we don't carry spring clamps anyway.. Worst experience... Ordered a MJ fuel pump... open the box.. its a AW-4 shift cable and a CPS for something... Call the place I ordered from.. clueless woman wants me to pay to ship back the parts they shipped incorrectly in the first place. I ask for a supervisor.. Supervisor asks why I ordered a Shift cable and CPS if I needed a fuel pump... My wife got on the phone and went bat poo crazy... Now.. they are sending a call tag for the incorrect parts.. but will not ship my fuel pump unless I let the charge my credit card a second time. The wife continues to go bat poo nuts on now a higher level of supervisor...Now my fuel pump is coming 2nd day air and I'm not being charged a second time... Worst part was, once I dropped the tank to change the pump. The pump was fine. The hose that went from the top of the pump to the sending unit corroded and let all the fuel fall back into the tank.
  14. You chuck them in a lathe and turn them down. The process is now banned in most councils.

    New multi-meters

I ended up ordering the Actron one. The tachometer feature is what swayed me in the end. I need to do some tuning on the FSJ this spring and that is alot easier than digging out the old hand tachometer my dad gave me and fudging with it. I had some Amazon gift certificates, so total cost to me....FREE! :clapping:

    New multi-meters

My issue with getting one off of GreedBay is I have no recourse if its a big brick or if its totally out of spec. I've been burned a time or two and don't trust anyone to honestly sell precision electronics.
  18. I have a plywood fuse box... gotta love OOs...
  19. Before anyone flames about it.. Yes, I know Fluke meters are probably better than I would need. But unfortunately, I have been Obama'ed out of being able to afford Cadillac tools. I need to get a new general purpose multi-meter. I need it to do automotive, home and some hobbyist types of functions. Instead of getting another HF $1.99(which worked fantastic for my use till it got wet), I wanted to get something a little nicer. I used to have an Actron with teflon cables and a crap load of features, but it got fried when I lent it out to someone. I found this one that will do everything I need it to.. http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3310-Hands- ... roduct_top Anyone have it?? hate it, love it?? Edit... Found another that might better fit what I need. http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP7677-Aut ... 161&sr=1-6 Edit #2... sorry Mods.. I wasn't paying attention to which forum I posted this..
  20. I had a MM hydraulic winch.. it connected to the power steering pump. OMFG was that thing slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LKQ Trip?

Well at least she is smart enough to know to never trust a $#!&ty to get you anywhere important.
  23. Don't worry 'MATE it's not Omix. ;) That's not who I am thinking of... But that would be damn scary also. I don't know about it being ARB...Unless they plan on positioning RE as a lower cost branding to OME.
  24. I just got invited to another court of honor tonight... Luckily for me... my dress is decided for me.
  25. This scares the holy crap out of me... I have an idea of who it could be... and its not good.
