I can remember when Citgo was called City Service. I usually buy from Speedway because they have the best Hot Dogs and Coffee (Other than Dunkin Doughnuts). I used to buy Sunoco (190) but most of the Sunoco stations have closed. Can't ever remember using Citgo. I used to pump gas at a Town Talk Station we all had to wear Black Slacks, Black levy type jackets, white shirts, Bow tie, police style hat and black shoes. We sold Oil in fruit jars with long spouts which we pumped out of big barrels. Gas was 23 cents and so was a pack of cigarettes. Sorry off topic.. Screw Citgo. Mac...

You can also buy the EMR Here. But, just why would you? I had a thread here about a week ago asking the same question. I thought of better things to spend $45.00 on. I also see them on eBay a lot but wonder if they are at 77,000 miles and I'd get the reminder a week after buying it. I keep an engine log so I can remember when to change oil and other routine maintenance along with parts numbers of replaced parts. It's a lot better system then an idiot light on the dash. Mac...

LOL. I didn't smash it, but I am taking it apart to see what makes it tick. For $45.00 I can buy a new one to smash in 82,500 miles.... Mac...

OEM Steering Wheel Swap, Horn Help Please
AmJay replied to comanche09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Right, That spring and plunger is for the top steering wheel. The bottom one probably uses a wire in the turn signal canceling cam. If you look at the Grant Horn Kit it may contain what you need. Mac... -
overheating problem or bad gauge
AmJay replied to Philistine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On mine I just put in as much antifreeze as I could and let it warm up. Shut it off came back in about 30 minutes and added another gallon and a half. In other words it burped itself. -
Since the turn signals and brake lights use the same bulb filament the problem would be between the brake switch and the turn signal switch wouldn't it? Is this a column shift? If so that would also point to the steering column wouldn't it? Mac...

OEM Steering Wheel Swap, Horn Help Please
AmJay replied to comanche09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just a guess but is this the part you are looking for? It's NAPA part 735-2822. It's the plunger, spring and lock that goes in the turn signal canceling cam. and replaced the wire that is in some steering wheels. Mac... -
Is my frankenmotor dying?
AmJay replied to the_wizard_of_fire's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
One possibility is that it isn't the engine at all. The only time I've had a shudder when accelerating was after changing tires. They forgot to tighten the lug nuts and it was tire shake.. I thought the engine was coming apart. Mac... -
After that set of tail lights sold on eBay for $345.00 I see there are several sets for sale now. One has a buy it now of $125. HERE! One set has 5 bids and is at $150+. Still I can't believe they shouldn't be $50 or less.

I'll give this a try. As you say it can't hurt. I just disconnected the EMR as everyone suggested. I read somewhere that only the 91 and 92 EMR modules can be reset. Mac...

The previous owner of my Comanche installed the solid state (threaded rod) oxygen sensor on the right.. I replaced it with the old style one on the left. Anyone know of any advantage in removing the oxygen sensor? I'm trying to chase down the source of my emissions light. The new oxygen sensor didn't clear it, but it idles a lot smoother.

That looks like a lot of work. Mac...

It's been a long time maybe 20 or 30 years since I've messed with CBs. If I remember there is a cap on the end of the Whip. If you remove the cap there is a coil of copper. To tune the whip you trim the copper using an SWR meter to get the best tune. If the whip is used it may allready have been trimmed shorter than you need. I think you can buy replacement coils. I may be all wrong, but it's been a while. Mac...

I misread it completely. I thought it was going to be a story on DEEP water Boarding. Mac...

I'm sure I have thse in my parts Jeep, but it is 50 miles away. If you get desperate and can't find them anywhere else let me know and I'll grab them the next time I visit my wreak.

On your DIY bump stop, does the bolt hit before the hockey puck or does the stock top bump stop hit the bolt? Nice write up, I think I'll try it. I may use a hole saw and drill out about a 1/2" of the top puck to make the fender washer and bolt head sit inside the puck. Mac...

Lots of good ideas. I'll try it. I looked at new ones and they were $47.?? for the drivers side and $67.?? for the passenger side (I guess it costs a lot more to make things closer then they appear). I'll remember to take pictures. Mac...

I'm not sure what metal clip you're talking about? The parts comanche that I have probably has it. Mac

Can you explain what you mean by loose? My MJ had loose steering, I mean I could move the steering wheel left right up and down. After tignening and locktite(ing) the torx bolts under the tilt knuckle it was back to normal. Mac...

Thanks Eagle, I'll try the heat gun. I have 4 of these mirrors and none of them work. The worse thing is I'd have to buy some new ones which I'll have to do anyway if I can't get these working.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the manual remote mirrors. The cables don't move the mirror. I can't see anyway to take them apart short of removing the glass which is probably next to impossible. Mac...

I had an 80,000 BTU Propane heater. I'd burn through a 30 lb tank in less then 8 hours heating a 20x30 space. I have a kerosene 60,000 BTU salamander heater and 5 gallons of kerosene lasts nearly a week (maybe 25 hours). I heated the garage to around 60 degrees. I paid around $30 to have the 30lb tank filled and $20. for the 5 gallon. Neither is supposed to be used in an unvented area. After a while you don't even notice the kerosene smell, unless you go outside and come back in. They make wall unit forced air kerosene heaters that vent to the outdoors. They mount in a window size opening in the wall. For me despite overwelming favor for the Propane units I'd go kerosene. Mac...

Looks like my brothers POS ford explorer Sport trac. I don't think trucks should have 4 doors. Jeep wranglers shouldn't either. Mac...
