Does it fit a short bed? There's no tank skid on this truck.
-
This cover was in the bed of the MJ when I bought it. Is it MJ related or junk from the previous owner? I tried looking it up by the part no. but no luck. So keep it or trash it? TIA

Sorry nothing on the tires but nice JL. My wife has a twin too yours Bezerk1.

The way it sounded I thought I spun every bearing. It hasn't been driven in a while so I'm guessing the oil pump lost it's prime. Should have been thinking after this long, "your basically working with a new engine so plan accordingly". Nope brain left the building that day.
-
My thought process too. Both rod and main? Going to get the rear main seal while I'm in there.

Update Last week I got the engine all put back together and changed out the CPS. Got it started, idled up to 2k and back down to normal after a second or two. After about 10 seconds it sounded wrong like a light knock and bad exhaust leak. I looked at the engine thru the oil cap, no oil. I made a primer tool and spun the pump for a bit and got oil flowing. Day late and a dollar short, now the engine is toast. Today I pulled the pan to see how bad it is. No shavings in the pan and no shiny bits on the engine. I pulled all of the rod caps and so far no.5 main cap. Rod bearings don't look real bad. Very smooth, a little copper color showing, and the markings on the bearings are easy to read. My issue is the main cap and bearing half that I pulled. Under the bearing the cap looks bad but is smooth just discolored. Journal side of the bearing is showing discoloration at the edges. Crank journal looks and feels like it just came back from the machine shop. I also checked 2 cylinders for wear also smooth but can't any cross hatching from below. Sorry for the long winded post. So after all that how bad does it sound? Adding pics of the main cap and bearing half.

Monstaliner is another diy bed liner with an orange peel texture. They have quite a few colors so you might be able to get close to your color. It's all in the prep if you don't do the prep none of them will stick good. I did the YJ back in late 2015 and still looks good. It's been out in the Oklahoma sun 6+ years now. In contrast the flares used to match the black on the door.

Getting everything back together and can't find the gasket that fits between the air box hose and the throttle body. Parts store has a 4cyl gasket thats to big and the 6cyl that is to small. 6cyl gasket online looks the same as the parts house. What is it called, part number, Still available?

Filled up the YJ at $4.65 in the morning and it jumped to $4.89 by time I got home that afternoon. Changed truck parking locations a few months ago and shaved 15 miles off my commute but with gas prices I'm now paying more to drive less.

Ok got the stud out in one piece this last weekend. Now I have another question. Can you test a CPS with the head off? Should have checked it before I pulled everything apart. I ended up rolling/pulling it into the shop because of a no start. Never going to have an easier time to change than right now with nothing in the way.

Broke the rear stud for the exhaust manifold inside the head. Being in the back it's damn near impossible to get a straight shot at it. So to ease pain and less cussing I'm pulling the head. While the head is off is there any thing that I should look at or replace? 135K on mileage and dry compression is 142 on the low side and 151 on the high side.

Thank you. So the book is correct then. First time I lifted the YJ it looked real sketchy but no issues.
-
Finally got the Comanche in the shop and will need to put it in the air at some point. The ALI book shows the lift points for a 00-01 Cherokee but nothing further back much less an MJ. Anyone have any experience lifting an MJ on a 2 post lift? Posting the pic of the lift point from the book for reference.

Back when I was 18 or so and still had a NM learner's permit ( had been driving at least 3-4 years by that point). I brought a 1979 Z28 from Santa Rosa, CA back to Santa Fe. Can't remember exactly where but I blew the upper hose east of Flagstaff. I was able to get to a shop for a new hose and coolant. Continued on my way without any other issues. Luckily the only LEO encounter I had was when I had pulled over on a ramp to catch a nap and an Arizona SP/HP stopped to ask if everything was ok. Still waited another year to get my actual license after that. Young and not the brightest at that time.

Pandora and listening to comedians during a drive really helps me. Hard to be tired when your laughing the whole time.

Count me in for one as well. Frame it and hang it in the shop with all the other Jeep signs.

Not sure if this will help or not. https://www.wranglerforum.com/attachments/wiring-jpg.3182785/ -
Nice magnets Pete. Are they pretty strong at that size?

Putting in new flooring in the living room yesterday and today and needed to trim jambs and door trim. I had an 18v Porter cable oscillating tool but sold it off when I switched to Dewalt. I bought a Hyper Tough (WM brand) figuring if I killed it I would take it back and get another to finish the job. Did a good job and it's still alive, not bad for $23. I rarely use this type of tool but I'll keep it around for the next job.

Pretty pricey but if you need it sometimes you have to bite the bullet. https://www.ebay.com/itm/114980130788?hash=item1ac5598fe4:g:sY4AAOSwHVFhOkAT

Anybody know if this would work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/284467235170?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1DCye4LllS7SIBi2WfZh9BA70&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=284467235170&targetid=1262407448140&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9026231&poi=&campaignid=12873834706&mkgroupid=117462210850&rlsatarget=pla-1262407448140&abcId=9300536&merchantid=433606815&gclid=CjwKCAjw2bmLBhBREiwAZ6ugo7L1RCZ0Zpr8kOx1lgcPg5DRX7nQzeAJJneaiNL7tp6feU7NdPev3BoCzFkQAvD_BwE

mjeff87 sounds like the turn signal rheostat might be going out. The wife's 04 dome light would come on randomly driving me crazy with a drained battery. Did some searching and found that the dial switch on the left stalk wears out and cause the dome light to randomly come on. Replaced the turn signal assembly and the issue went away.

I broke down and put carpet in the cab area of my YJ. I bought an open box carpet set from Amazon and saved about $40. All the pieces and instructions were there just the original box had some damage. Well worth checking out other buying options.
