87MJTIM thank you. Got some homework for tomorrow.
-
It was holding steady at 128.

Thanks Ohm I'll check on the LT tomorrow and see if it's fluctuating. I haven't been good to since I bought it. It has sat more than it's been driven, less than 3k miles in 7 years I believe. Started messing with it again last year and have been slowly bringing back to life. Last month I went through Cruiser's tips for the 2nd time since it was purchased. The idle has never been great on this truck and honestly I can't remember if it ever was. Some on here talk about how their idle is so smooth or purrs like a kitten. Mine sounds like a bear with indigestion.
-
When it first starts it runs ok and rpms hover around 730-750 for a few seconds. Then the rpms drop to 600-690 and the ST fuel trim bounces between 0-28. Readjusted the TPS (it was out a little) and indexed the distributor. It idles the same while in drive sitting at a light. I have a REM that I am getting the data from. I have another IAC I can try but any other thoughts on what is going on. Thanks for the help.

I found the leak by the firewall and the air blows from the vents now. Thanks for the pics and tips.
-
Thank you. Along with your pic I did find some good info on where to start on the vacuum leak issue, but I'm trying to find info on the vents themselves. Where do the a/c vents attach behind the dash?
-
Is there a good diagram available for the hoses to the vents? Not sure about the vents at face level but the one under the column is definitely missing. Where does it go under the dash and how difficult is it to fix (how much dash removal)? I'm sure that I have a vacuum leak some where due to the air only coming from the defrost vents.

Need Source For Jeep Liberty Advice
dante2 replied to AZJeff's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
We had an 03 and 04 that were past 250k when we sold them. I was pretty watchful of the temp gauge as well. Both were inexpensive to own and didn't owe us anything. -
Need Source For Jeep Liberty Advice

My wife had an 04 that she bought at 55k. Sold it back in 2020 when she got her JL. I did all of the maintenance/repairs on it and that was never done. When it sold it had over 250k and was still going strong. We would have kept it but 5 vehicles and 2 drivers is a bit much for us. -
I had the same issue on the YJ when I switched from steel to aluminum wheels. Did some searching and found these. I been running them for over a year with no issues. https://www.ebay.com/itm/113272360963

Excellent work on bringing the MJ back to like new! Great color choice too. Your last pic reminds me of some different color deja vu.

I have been cutting with a Greenworks 40v mower since last year. I would guess that our lot is roughly about 50x200 more than half is grass/weeds (if you cut it short enough it all looks the same). Backyard, front, and around the shop is usually 1-1.5 batteries with dry grass. This year is very wet here in OK so mowing has been more frequent and usually damp. Worst so far is about 2.5 4.0ah batteries for everything. More than a few stop and tips to clear out the wet grass stuck to the bottom. I do like the electric for that part, gas mowers in my experience don't like to tip on their side without protesting afterward. Just finished up today before the rain hits for the next week and a half. Grass used 2 4.0 batteries and weed eating used up the 2.5ah. Going electric is not cheap but in the long run I like it more everytime I have to mow.

Cool thank you sir.

I pulled the original ignition switch apart and cleaned the contacts. Reinstalled it and the turn signals are now working while running. I had 2 other ignition switches I was trying apparently both are bad. Does the brown wire go to the lights? The blue connector is loose around the brown wire. I crimped it down a little to keep it on. Thanks everybody for steering me in the right direction.
-
Ignition switch was replaced last year old one was in bad shape. I changed the column out a few years ago when I put the floor shift in. The wire from the turn signal stalk is not connected. Does it connect to this loose connector with gray, orange, and black wires? Original column doesn't have a wire from the stalk that I can see. Old column has a black and chrome stalk, new tilt column has all black stalk.

More info to add, neither the wipers or turn signals work when the engine is running. Multifunction switch bad?
-
-
Engine running no signals. Engine off key on signals work.
-
I moved the truck out of the shop for a drive and the temp gauge started working for now. New problem now the turn signals don't work if the engine is running it was doing this yesterday. Today I checked all of the lights, the fuses, and changed the flasher. Still nothing. The hazards work whether the engine running or not.
-
Just to preface these issues I have gone thru and redone cruiser54's tips and tried another known good flasher. Last week I replaced all of the bulb sockets except the front side markers. All lights work as they should now, so many issues before. One thing I noticed when using a turn signal the opposite turn signal flashes dimly when the lights are on. Both front and rear are doing it. Normal function if the lights are off. Also the temp gauge moves when starting but pegs all the way to the right and stays when running. It was working the other day when I got some gas. The only thing I've done is reattach the lower panel under the steering wheel and the cluster fascia panel. Wire on the sender at the back of the head is attached. Sorry about the long post. Not as concerned about the lights but having a functional temp gauge is important. TIA

Wife and I saw one at a repair shop in Norman, OK. It was lifted, red and bed lined. If we hadn't been in traffic I would have taken a pic.
