To keep up to date, I am the current owner. It was moved from New York to Dallas by Limey and I now have it in San Antonio.

I have two good door cards for the new to me Comanche that I am cleaning up. However, there is some old water spotting/slight warpage and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to coat the back of the door panels with something? I have Killz primer but not sure if anyone has done something similar to help prevent further damage?

I have a dual manifold for R134a and a vacuum pump. I will have to do some research on R134a as the last few systems I have done have been 410a (house AC and mini-split). Edit: I am not mixing 410a and 134a manifolds before anyone warns me =P

Had an interesting failure today and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fail safe thing that indicates a bigger problem before replacing the component and moving on. The comanche was at idle and I was working on the cooling fans. All the sudden I hear a pop and what sound like all of my refrigerant escaping. Well the pressure switch failed in a way where the refrigerant was leaking out of one of the prongs on the switch itself. Is this like a over pressure fail safe? AC was staying on steady with no apparent cycling so I do not think the system was over/under charged.

Factory 4.10. This thing goes... -
I run a transmission cooler off of my compressor into an auto drop out separator before it enters the tank. If I am spraying paint I crack the drain on the bottom of the tank while spraying so that any other condensed water comes out. I seem to drop out most of the water for way less money than a professional dropout system.

And I have dropped entirely too much money on it already... First thing I did was fix some rear end damage. It had been rear ended with a hitch installed. Hitch was bent and that bent the bumper core support also. Luckily the Z71 color matched bumper cover was okay so I bought a junkyard bumper and hitch and put the Z71 cover on it. New hatch struts Pulled the front carpet, pressure washed it, and dyed it gray with that duplicolor spray stuff. It is passable for a commuter vehicle. Much better than faded and stained tan carpet. Fixed the power mirrors by pulling the switch and polishing the contacts Bought a new drivers seat base. Had to repair the metal frame. Installed universal seat heater pads on drivers side. Have to decide if I want to use the barely adequate wiring harness that came with the kit still. Bought a new radio and speakers Bought remote start kit -
Contemplating a change looking for opinions.....

I have been in your shoes. I sold the MJ, regretted it, bought another, sold it, regretted it, bought another, sold it, regretted it, bought another, am contemplating selling it... With that being said. I don't think I can go back to dailying an MJ unless it was in excellent condition. The reliability of modern vehicles and creature comforts (heated, very comfortable seats), make modern trucks/vans better for daily duty imho... On the same token. I did just buy a GMT800 Tahoe. It is old enough that it is starting to be cool, new enough to have a really solid drivetrain, and cheap enough that I don't care about tinkering on it occasionally. So maybe something like that would be an option? -
Just picked this up yesterday. Not sure exactly what I am going to do with it yet but I am going to sell my van and keep this for now.

If these employers would hit me up for their third round interviews =P Need to send out emails tomorrow asking for updates...

I mean I did fine in the rental Murano through the rockies in the snow and fine in the minivan in the snow and ice in Texas this year but those are literally my only 2 experiences driving in snow =P
-
Well I literally bought an 02 Tahoe last night... However, my needs were slightly different as I needed a tow capable rig and an XJ was just too sketch to tow anything large-ish even though it is rated for most of what I would want to do. Plus I wanted 4wd as I may move north and I don't know how to drive in snow =P

I am bumping this. I contacted CarsRememberWhen but I am going to assume they will be a bit outside of my budget (although my budget is growing)

I mean if you bought something in Broomfield I would rent it out from you from July for a few months =P Looks like a really neat place though!

I believe I am sending him a good passenger one and a cracked driver. They are in my van awaiting me finding a box later tonight to send them out.

Spring over is really only if you are trying to lift the truck ~5" in the rear. That is the purpose of doing it.

My experience in small claims. If you open the case and the defendant even thinks you have a chance, there will be a settlement. If you go to small claims, ask for the highest amount you think you could argue for and you may settle for the lower amount. Mine was against the previous owner of my house burying 20 yards of crap in an old pool... HOWEVER, from also being sued in an automotive incident... Where I was the "at fault" party. Basically same rules applied. I was personally sued and sent the suit up to my insurer and they settled out of court. For you being the "at fault" party without proof that it was not your fault you would need a lawyer to be a PITA to the insurance company and as there were no injuries reported you are going to pay the settlement amount to the lawyer for their services... Lawsuits. Be enough of a pain in the rear to get a settlement. The time investment and headache over a few grand is probably not worth it. Also in this situation, always get a body man quote even if you don't have them do the work. That is what you would have been able to set your suit amount based on. In my case I sued for 10, settled for 4, and dug a massive hole in my yard and removed all the crap for like 2k and a long weekend. Not particularly helpful... Sorry. Also... Even working as an engineer... Documentation is everything. Otherwise you get sued if the client has money problems in any capacity... My answer to every client inquiry is always "If you want a definitive yes/no in writing, you need to pay $X for these tests and a results report. Otherwise the answer is "It may be a factor".

We bought one of those 10x12 outdoor gazebo things with mosquito netting. Netting has to be replaced every season pretty much but its great for summertime.

Interesting. I hate string trimmers for this reason and the fact that I could never keep one running longer than a few seasons. Gave up and bought a Worx battery one. Its... Fine. I like the fact I don't have to start it but it doesnt have the cahonies of a gas one.

I bought a HF stud welder. I would rate it pretty highly. Makes pulling dents way easier than welding screws to the body with the mig =P

@Pete Mis the expert on bed removals. I just did mine but it wasn't rusty. With anything rusty, start soaking with penetrating oil like a week before...
