Ha that is an option but we can't be burning up all your time.

Is there a way to add functionality for the owner of a thread to "collapse" responses in their thread? My thought is for threads that fill up with less important info to the post itself, those responses could be set to collapsed by default when the thread is opened to make it easier for people to follow later on and if the viewers wanted to, they could click to expand the collapsed post and still read those posts. An "expand all" option would probably be important to people as well so they don't have to click each post individually to reveal it. Visually it would look similar to the single lines that show up in threads when a change is made to the original post. example: user 1 - thread title post content post content post content post content post content post content post content post content post content post content signature signature user 2 - post response post response post response post response post response signature signature signature user 3 - (reveal post) user 4 - (reveal post) user 5 - post response post response post response post response post response signature signature I'm not sure how this forum is setup so not sure how hard this would be to implement or if it is even a route the overseers of our great forum would like to go. Just figure it would be great to help people clean up threads a bit if its possible. On a separate note, does the "hide" button currently available on your own post have a way to unhide it? I've played around with it a bit and it doesn't appear to give the user a way to unhide it as that post disappears without a trace.

CC member orders must be done through a direct message with me here on CC for the discount (PayPal or Venmo) but the product page on my website will house all the images and description for each item so it stays nice and tidy here. Only Jeep related items are listed here, be sure to check out the website for various other products you or family/friends may like! https://zimmdakindustries.com/ The title of the part is a link, click on it to see more info on zimmdakindustries.com! Be sure to direct message me here on CC to order. If you see something listed "out of stock" on the website ask me about it anyway, those just don't have an eBay or Etsy listing. You'll probably have to order the bearings, stores don't carry much for older vehicles anymore. At least from my experience. Checking the compression is a great start and I'd even consider pulling the pan just to get eyes on underneath. If it was top end noise I wouldn't worry as much but bottom end is a little more serious. You could always take the route of thicker oil to make the knock go away and keep driving. Doesn't actually fix anything but out of... sound, out of mind?

Does anyone have a Wagoneer XJ that could test fit some reproduction clips for the woodgrain trim? They are the small clips that attach the trim to the body of the Jeep. I made some for someone and never heard back if they fit or not so I need someone to confirm for me. I will send you a couple clips free of charge, just need to know asap if they fit or need adjustments.

Identifying the type of plastic for interior pieces
Dzimm replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'd bet money they are ABS. Some form of ABS is used for more than 90% of interior plastics in vehicles, especially older ones. Newer vehicles are starting to utilize other types of plastic more, even 3D printing parts from the factory. I saw Nylon mentioned, Nylon is sometimes used but it's a much heavier duty material and used more on wear type items and structural items that need to be stronger, none of the mentioned pieces fall into that category. It's also more difficult and expensive to process than other suitable materials. I ran the injection molding department at Kreg Tool for several years (until they shipped manufacturing to China) and have a few injection molding certs and I can tell you from my experience that in most cases, ABS is the default for injection molded parts unless there is something that requires a certain property that can't be attained with ABS. -
86-92 Jeep MJ Reproduction Tail Light Housings
Dzimm replied to Dzimm's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
There are definitely plans to make at least one other version to accept more modern sockets. As time goes on I may introduce more versions. -
86-92 Jeep MJ Reproduction Tail Light Housings
Dzimm replied to Dzimm's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Sorry, I don't offer the files for any of the models I have made. The additional pieces you need aren't available in small quantities either so you wouldn't be able to complete them cost effectively. -
86-92 Jeep MJ Reproduction Tail Light Housings
Dzimm replied to Dzimm's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Ha that would be nice, long way from that though. -
It still has the original Street Comanche rear bumper on it. The black paint/bed liner along the bottom suggests the body kit has been gone a while, you may still be able to find the holes along the rocker panel and bedside where it mounted. The body kit has side skirts and a front airdam made from the same rubber/plastic material that rear bumper is made of. It also had a specific front grill and wheels originally. Post up more pictures of the parts you have and of the truck and we can tell you what's original to the Street Comanche and what isn't.

86-92 Jeep MJ Reproduction Tail Light Housings
Dzimm replied to Dzimm's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
THE LIST: none in line, currently selling in batches on eBay. CC members can message me to get in line for the next batch. -
They are finally here!! I will be doing this a little different due to the long production times and material shortages I have been running into lately. These will now be available in batches on eBay. CC members message me to be put in line for the next batch, CC members get priority. *** My source for the reflectors has gone out of business and I am currently searching for a suitable replacement. I currently have enough on hand for 22 more pairs of light housings. I will update this number as they go and remove this note if/when I find a replacement. *** This is a 3D printed set of replacement tail light housings for the Jeep MJ Comanche tail lights. This is only the housings, lenses are not included. These housings accept both the factory MJ lenses as well as the Keyparts aftermarket ones. This comes as a set of both driver and passenger side and will include new spring clips and screws for mounting on the truck as well as the internal reflectors on the housing. It is recommended to use LED lights with these just to be safe. I did thermal testing with the standard incandescent bulbs and you can use them but I don't recommend it, nor am I responsible for anything if you choose to use them. The testing showed that with the tail lights on, it gets up to around 80*F and stays there, which is well within the safe temperature zone of this plastic. When using the brakes the temperature comes up considerably. Under normal use this is not an issue as the brakes are only on for a few minutes at most and only get up to around 130-140*F in that time. The problem would come in if your brake light switch on your pedal comes out of adjustment (as it has many times on these trucks) and the brakes stay on for prolonged periods it could cause damage. In my testing with the brakes held on it took over 1 hour for the temperature in the housings to reach 185*F and it stayed there. I held the brakes on (using a piece of wood wedged against the seat) for nearly 3 hours and the temp stayed around 185*F, I didn't observe damage to the housings after this test but I can't say it won't happen due to the temp being so close to the temperature that this plastic starts to get soft and so many variables that can be at play. I don't offer any sort of warranty on these so I recommend to play it safe and go LEDs. I know some will read the section above and ask why not use ABS for its higher temperature resistance, the reasoning behind that is the higher difficulty in consistency with printing means more bad parts and higher pricing to compensate for loses, as well as the the MUCH better characteristics of PETG for outdoor use. If you have further questions or would like some more clarity on anything please send me a message. Installation: - Dry fit your lenses so you can see how they are going to fit and lineup before gluing. The lenses will flex slightly to fit tightly around the housings. Have some clamps ready to hold the lenses in place (be careful when clamping to avoid damage, it doesn't take much force to hold them in place. - Glue and clamp the lenses to the housings. - Install the new spring clips onto the truck bed, removing the old ones if necessary. - Install your new lights as usual when the glue has cured. There are two options available: - Original MJ bulb sockets - 1157/1156 bulb sockets (bulb sockets sold separately) By default you will get the original version unless you specifically ask for the 1157/1156 version. The 1157/1156 bulb sockets are a slightly better design than the original MJ ones. If you order the 1157/1156 version will have to replace your original MJ bulb sockets with 1157 for the brake and tail lights, and 1156 for the reverse light. Send me a message to place an order. These ship FREE in the US, International shipping is available. Cost for CC members is $190 per set. Visit zimmdakindustries.com to see all products offered! ***DISCLAIMER*** - FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY. Each state and country has its own laws regarding lights so it's your responsibility to decide what you can and cannot do. - These are printed in black PETG plastic. This plastic can start to get soft at temperatures of 190*F. Even in extreme environments this shouldn't be an issue. PETG parts have been used on vehicles for long periods of time without Ill effects. - This is a 3D printed part, this means not all parts will appear or fit exactly the same. It is set to print as fast as possible due to the long print times and I'm trying to keep prices low, this results in a slightly lower resolution print however I will never send a part out that doesn't look good or function properly. I do not accept returns due to it being made to order, however If you have an issue with your part, please contact me and we can work out the issue together. - If you break it due to not following instructions, over-tightening screws, or through use, you can fix it with some super glue or you can message me to purchase a replacement part. - This is a made to order part and takes multiple days to print and build. I ship as soon as possible but due to the long production time, please allow time for me to process and ship.

Sounds good, you should get a shipping notification within a few days. Thank you!

Just shoot me a PM to order! I don't currently make the round bumpers at the very top but they are on my list to make. Right now I just offer the bumpers for the straps. Here is the link to the listing. Thanks!

10 Hole Rim "Jeep" Center Cap Replacement Decals
Dzimm replied to Lucas7667's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It was also just a batch order of the bubble sticker, not the entire cap. He wanted a set and the company had a minimum order quantity so he sold off the rest of the order. -
I wondered how quickly it would get pieced together. Great things are in #96's future. Stay tuned.

That's the key, plastic threads suck. On the JK adapters I print threaded bosses for the screw I include and they work well but again plastic threads and they add a considerable amount of print time for the boss and the support.. I will probably be changing the JK adapters to use these clips instead.

More info to come later. Can't give away all my secrets!

Awesome, thank you!! They are cheap too which is great!

Does anyone know of a source for the clips that go on the tail lights the screws go into? I've got a product nearing the end of development and I have been trying to source these clips for it but none I've found are the right size. An exact match would be ideal but anything that's close will work as well.
