Awhile back I purchased a U_Haul car trailer at one of their used equipment auctions for $450. Best buy I ever made. Only thing I haven't hauled on it so far is a military deuce and half.

Been talking to a fella about buying his 1991 XJ, 4WD. He says it has a toyota transmissin in it. 50 miles is to far to drive just go sight seeing. Has anybody ever heard of a Toyota tranny in a Jeep? He wants $400 for it and claims it has a good engine, but I just never heard of a Toy tranny in a Jeep. Have you?

To bad it's not a convertable. Then he could cruise it with the top down and the plow up. Or vice versa in case of inclement weather.

I've removed a couple sets of flares with out twisting the screws off. First using a wire brush remove rust. Then soak with PB and let set a bit. For the trouble involved, I think it would have been just as easy to go ahead and twist the nut off and replace the bolts as recommended above.

I have five. Four with good rubber and one bare. Don't know what it would take to ship.$150.

Sounds like the best option yet. Got a couple shelves full of carbs. Should be able to find one can make work. Won't be the first time I've taken a one inch piece of aluminum and made a carb adapter.

Just how hard , or what would it entail to swap to a TBI? Could I keep the same manifold? It's a good running engine so I really don't want to swap engines. Don't know squat about Chevy engines anymore.

Are they the same? Have a 1986 MJ with a 2.8 motor and a bad carb. Auto parts store wants $450 for a new carb. WTH? Only paid $150 for the whole truck a couple years ago. The old carb is to damaged for a rebuild kit. Don't ask me how it got damaged. I am thinking a 1986 S10 carb will be a direct replacement. and maybe the '84 and '85 carb. Anybody know ?

Personally I'd stay as far away from Northern Co, as I possibly could. Boulder, Greeley is a separate state, or should be, and is NOT at all a true representation of the rest of Colorado.

Drop a letter to the junior college here. They have a reputation world wide for their quality of training Maybe they can use another instructor.

It was probably stripped for parts in less than 24 hours, or else a quicky paint job and they're planning on keeping it. If you're lucky it will be found abandoned along a road somewhere.

I think you quit your list too soon There must be a hundred, if not thousand reasons why more peeps don't join the military. I almost didn't join because khaki didn't match my baby blues.

Both times was the front axle. And yes the axles were on the truck.

A test light is invaluable in a situation like this. Get one and learn how to use it. I made one up using a light socket and bulb, 20 feet of wire, a little over kill but it works, and a test prod. Connect the clip to the negative post of the battery, more reliable than trying to find a good ground somewhere and use the prod to check for voltage at the sockets and connectors.
