Technology? I just learned how to feel the radiator to tell if it's warm or not. You mean there's more? :redX:

Can't you find a girl that's more interested in Jeeps than she would be interested in you? :dunno:
-
Also if it's been sitting for awhile it's possible the piston is froze up to the cylinder wall. Will need dis assembled and cleaned.

Leg isn't long enough? :hmm:

Just bought a '88 MJ, 2.5, 4spd, 2WD. $400. NO RUST! Had to put 5 gal of gas in it and then jump start it to drive it home. The original owners manual and paper work from the dealership was in the glovebox. If any one here from Pa knows a Charles F. Benzel from Westchester, Pa, Tell him that his old Jeep is in good hands. :clapping: :wavey:

I was informed that 1996 42RE can only be swapped for another 1996 42RE. That doesn't seem right to me although knowing Jeep I realize it is possible. It seems to me a '96-'97 should work. Anyone know for sure? :dunno:

I welcome change. Change is what separates man from animal. Change is the consequence of intelligence seeking better and advanced technologies improving mans lot on this earth. Now if I could just find that button hook so i can fasten my shoes and go do something. Useful. :huh???:

No need to live anywhere specific. That's the beauty of CC... where ever you go, there's one of us! Last year for the Detroit get together, a few members couldn't get out there so I tried to stop and meet those along my way. I only ended up being able to get together with Brent, but I had a great time all the same. Good burger too. Thanks again for the ride, Brent! Thanks guys! Feels just like I'm COTM all over again! Same on this end. Had an amazing time walking around the yard and meeting the whole MJ group... Mr. Skinner too! I kept thinking about your question of "Anything you can't live without?"... didn't want to say it at the time because I'm in a bit of a pickle for getting it home right now... but I would've taken that RUSTY green truck off your hands! I would've even offered exactly the same as what you paid for it! Nice bunch of trucks all around though. I'm still dripping with envy over all of the beautiful rocker panels. 75 miles? How about 1000!... and I'd do it again too. Next time when I've got a bit more time to get together with more members too. Great to meet you, Jim! Thanks for the Pepsi! Well why didn't you say something? $500 it's yours. You could have drove it back and let the wife drive yours. I was figuring from Ellicott. Figured you made the trip from there just for the eyeball. Humph!. Dern lights crooked, AGAIN!. Image Not Found for the folks wondering who Mr Skinner is.

Neohic, Ben, and his lovely wife dropped in for a visit today. It was a 75 mile drive one way for them. Very nice people and I enjoyed the visit immensely.

Door stop. Hook a motor to it and make a air compressor out of it. Boat anchor. If you do decide to keep it and store it, don't seal it in an air tight bag. They rust faster that way than one laying out on the ground with just a board over it.

There's a block built into the filler tube to prevent siphoning. I remove the filler tube from the tank, insert a hose into the tank, then pressurize the tank with an air hose. Your way will work but with a 3/8 inch hose it will take a little time.

Took one look and didn't have a bit of trouble telling them apart. :D

Had a State Trooper pull me over about a year ago. Some silly nonsense about doing 'over 80' in a 75 MPH zone. They prefer you stay in your car but I told him my leg was killing me and could I please get out and stretch. We were standing in front of the MJ and after he chewed my @$$ out and checked the license and registration he eyeballed the truck pretty close. We got to talking. Seems his wife, girlfriend, had one when he met her and they went on a lot of dates in it. Told him about the yard and invited him out when ever. A couple days later I sold him a '97 ZJ I had just finished. We wave at each other when we pass on the highway. Oh yes. No ticket, just a warning to get my speedometer fixed. :D

Help finding a new flywheel
jimoshel replied to littlezeeker's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So why can't a person just have his flywheel machined flat and use a regular clutch disk? What is so sacred about a cupped, domed surface? :dunno: -

Mea Culpa. I goofed. Just got through replacing a fuel pump on a S10. That's what I was thinking of when I posted this. Forgot how much easier the MJ is than the S10. Sorry about that.

Help finding a new flywheel
jimoshel replied to littlezeeker's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've just used hammer and chisel to remove the old one. Deep freezed the flywheel over night and heated the ring to install. -
So let's do this one now. When changing the fuel pump, is it easier to raise the bed? Or just drop the tank? The tank is 3/4 full. Include the reasoning behind your choice.

If you can't find one closer to home, I got one. Don't know what the shipping would be on it. -
There's an idler pulley takes the place of the PS pump. Same bolts. Same adjustment procedure.
