So what is your opinion on the War, Bush, and everything?
feerocknok replied to 89MJComanche's topic in The Pub
Eh, our nation's been around for a couple hundred years. As long as we change track soon, we're not gonna lose it all in 8. I'm finally tired of Bush, but everyone blaming everything on him is dumb. He does have alot of power, but he's taking advise from other people to make his decisions. I can compare it to on here when I said post '90 trucks didn't have CAD, cause someone told me that. It's not true, but it's all I heard, so I believed it to be and passed the information along like it was the truth. I also don't like when people call him an idiot when he stutters over words. He's not an idiot, he's well educated, but his tongue slips. So what? He probably has a higher education than anyone else on this forum. Or when people make fun of his speeches. All presidents have speech writers, so if the wording is lacking, blame part of it on the speech writer. I can't say that Bush is doing a great job; he's making mistakes. Things are not Not his fault, but not all the blame can be put on him like the majority of the world tries to do. I'm not gonna get started on Iraq, cause I didn't mean to type that much. Screw Hillary. Or, I guess I couldn't. I don't think she's into men. -
I'm running a cat with a 2.5" Magnaflow on mine. I don't know if I'd recommend it or not. Inside the cab it makes no noise at all, but by the tailpipe, it sounds a lil too much like a ricer for my taste.

Bad @$$. Does it run right now? And is all the glass intact? I like anything pre-1970, and love anything pre-1960.

The only 4.0Ls I heard with mufflers changed out had their cat removed. 2 of them were running Flowmaster 40s, 2.5" muffler, 3" behind it, and another one ran stock piping to a 2.5" Cherry Bomb where the cat was, and then shot it out the side (not legal...). The Cherry Bomb had no tone and was ridiculously loud. Ear drum ripping loud, plus it shot 2 foot flames due to the routing. The Flowmasters both sounded amazing. They were very loud, but the Jeeps could almost be mistaken for having V8s.

2,000 miles and a rodknock with no power! Yay! Yeah, if someone can handle the everyday power of the 2.5, they can handle the feeling of it with a bike in the bed. I'll be hauling a jetski this summer alot, probably weighs 200 lbs, but I know it won't be an issue.

Does it require gear set-up or is it just the removal of the spiders? It's a shame they sent you faulty parts, but I'm sure it'll work great for you.

Smashed MJs:

I think the Rock Krawler 3-link set-up on the lower arms runs a heim at the axle and one bushing or another at the frame end.

Not to start a debate, but I like dealing with the clutch myself. I really feel like I have more control, and it's nice to not worry about if I can stop or not in 4-lo.

I'm running $30 shocks myself after rebate, $35 a piece normally. I have to find out why they're so dang loud! I hate crawling with em cause I constantly hear them, "fuhhhhhhh-foooooh." I can't back this product, cause I've never tried them, but they look decent, and their reviews are decent. They'll probably wind up on my prerunner project.

That ECTED sounds so trick! I want one!

Project Tetanus - H4s & Herculiner

With a tubing bender from harbor freight that costs $5ish. -
My house was scheduled to be done on Jan. 31st. They are just now doing the finish work on the inside. It has been stressful but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck on the job. Did you figure out about the rock on the outside? I know you had asked about it in the photoshop thread, but I didn't have the ability to do it for you.

They're good trannies, but not nearly as strong as a TH350 or TH400. People like em for their overdrive.

Here's a thread on them from Dezertrangers.com: http://dezertrangers.com/cgi-bin/ib/iko ... 786;hl=foa The thread starts off with mindless bashing of the company for having low prices, and slowly turns into the realization that these are a coilover that is meant for people that don't need the capibilities of a King or Fox, and lastly that these may indeed be a quality shock. Someone that works in the company starts in on the conversation on the 2nd page. He seems very knowledgable and there shocks sound nice. Not too much talk about the coilovers though.

Auto or manual? My auto on 31s doesn't really have "power," even after the regear, so the any statement on this is kind of an opinion. I did haul a complete set of tools and a front and rear axle in the bed though for about 30 miles, and it didn't feel any worse than it does without hauling all that junk. I don't have any idea how much bikes way but I probably had 350 pounds of extra weight with me. Same as driving around 2 buddies.

New Brake Lines and Fittings
feerocknok replied to ChiefJosh's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For the fitting question: I looked EVERYwhere for these fittings. All of the parts houses, Home depot, and a store that only sells liquid connections. No luck whatsoever! Even looking for adapters, I couldn't get em. Only spot I could get them was the junkyard. I grabbed enough fittings in case someone else on here ran into this problem, so if you need them, PM me, because I couldn't find them at all elsewhere. And make sure when you put the fittings on new lines that you use a double flaring tool on the lines, not just a normal flaring tool. There's too much pressure in the braking system to run standard flares. As for the 3/16 vs 1/4 vs 5/16 lines, I talked with Eagle about running 1/4" lines from the BMC to the prop valve (isn't this called the combination valve?) and he believed that it wouldn't increase or decrease braking power. It would only change where the pedal engages. -
I'm not going to go into the cost on mine, but it was too much, and I should be using an RC truck to do what I do instead of my real truck.

track bar suggestions
feerocknok replied to comancheman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you mean running the stock bar, no. Mine hit at 5".
