Got my back window in from brown Santa yesterday, just in time for it to snow, drove my truck to work yesterday and it drives fine with the 35s a little sluggish but fine. Hopefully swapping my driver side window in today  got some daytime pics finally but it's been crappy out the past few days
-
Picked up a set of 35" KM2s last week for $100 big ones and got those mounted the other night. Can't get any day time shots because I work from dark to dark :( Also ordered the 4 Pane back window from Teamcherokee on cybermonday  hopefully ill get that soon and can start on my cage and maybe find a 8.8 with 4.10s in it already so I don't have a ticking time bomb of a rear axle! My 44 is on its way out :( Here's a crappy night pic, painted the whole front end flat black and I think it's growing on me ...

Looks awesome! Keep it up

Blown Brake Booster?
Dirteatr717 replied to Dirteatr717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I checked everything from the booster to the rear wheel cylinders and there's no leaks, 99% of the truck is rust free so none of the lines are rotted. I did the chilton brake booster test and seems like my booster is shot, I have a 99 XJ booster and master I can modify to fit so that'll be this week/weekends project.. -
Short story- Driving my 87 home from work yesterday and slammed on my brakes because someone cut me off and then slammed on their brakes to stop at a yellow light. I had all 4 tires locked up skidding sideways... Ever since I've had to pump the pedal 2-3 times for it to have decent stopping power. I checked all the lines and cylinders for leaks and couldn't find any, there haven't been any puddles or drops anywhere either. Could I have blown the vacuum seal inside the booster? It makes a hissing sound louder than usual but I still have working brakes after pumping the pedal 2-3 times! I need to figure this out because now I have 2 Jeeps I can't drive :(

Tailgate Handle Fixes/replacements...?
Dirteatr717 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I opened mine one day and it ripped right off so I made my own and it looks pretty factory to me  -
Thanks! It's been slacking. I picked up a spare set of axle shafts, new calipers, new rotors and can't decide if I should order Hawk brake pads, EBC pads or just stick with the suggested store brand crap. My new front axle is ready to be re-geared and some 1ton steering slapped on. Hopefully picking up a set of 35" cooper stts after next weeks paycheck  Since I was bored last weekend I figured why not lower the little Manche! Lowered the back 2.5" and left the front but I'm searching for TJ 4 cylinder coils since they'll sit about 1.5" lower which should be perfect. I must say after putting some new to me shocks all around and changing some bushings, it takes turns like a champ! I'm gunna name it the exit ramp champ :D

You can't post pics like that and tell us to wait a week! You're a cruel person! I think you should trade me for one of my Manches so you're still welcome around here :D

Looking good! Always looking forward to more progress

Team Cherokee Back Window?
Dirteatr717 replied to Dirteatr717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm wondering how people like them if anyone has one, fit, function and shipping all that jazz -
Does anybody have one? What's your review of it? I'm about to order it because its the only 4 pane one I can find http://teamcherokee.com/rear-back-slider-tinted-glass-assembly-jeep-comanche-pick-up-1986-1992/

My Badass Metric-Ton Comanche Build! (The End)
Dirteatr717 replied to MancheKid86's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you got/get to keep your truck we would've had matching roofs! chicks dig scars and body damage but glad your okay man, that's what matters the most! Take your time healing and spend countless hours reading threads on here and pirate4x4... That's what I did :D -
I have a Dana44, my guess is that my axle shaft is bent enough to wallow out the bearing and it cracked and walked its way off the axleshaft and slipped right out, go go gadget style

Alexia's 1987 To 1997 Comanche

Oh lala! Paint looks awesome! -
Finally got it back together and got home. There were only 2 d44 axle shaft bearings in stock on this entire island! I called every parts store and of course the only 2 in stock are on the opposite side of the island an hour away so I made my mom pick it up and drop it off so I could press the bearing and retainer on with a block of woodand a deep socket i thought i didnt need and a harbor fright hammer that ended up getting bent because of the furious pounding. This is always a great sight And here's the old bearing with less than 1k miles on it... The inner race cracked all the way through and allowed enough play for the retainer to take on the roll of holding the shaft in place but that didn't last for more than 5 feet
-
So I'm leaving my new job after signing paperwork and leaving to go get a drug test. Make one turn in the parking lot and boom my axle shaft is halfway out of the axle! The bearing retainer must've wallowed out and slid off since I knew this axleshaft was bent from my rollover. So I'm writing this on the side of the road. In the rain. With no windows. My luck is great lately! Pics later -__-

Motor Swap... What Else Will I Need To Do??
Dirteatr717 replied to bumpy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Actual headers are a nice upgrade and won't be cracked like 95% of the stock manifolds on 4.0s, put a flex pipe somewhere in the down pipe so your headers don't crack from the rest of the exhaust being "hard mounted". Also a 99XJ intake is horseshoe shaped and supposedly has better flow. I can't say anything because I don't have one. You can also upgrade from the stock injectors to neon/mustang and other 4 way spray pattern injectors around 19 pounds of pressure I believe? Don't quote me on it. While you have everything apart and it's easily accessible replace all the gaskets, seals, water pump and thermostat and I would change the CPS sensor while its easy to get to. -
Yessss thanks for the link cruiser! I've been trying to find that exact one
