  2. Edited.i try and keep an eye out for typos, but some still escape me. Damn iPhone.
  3. I'm a big hot rod nut. From full restorations to rusty funky rat rods. But this kind of work just makes me go nuts. The attention to detail and commitment to make everything from scratch. I work in a custom metal fabrication shop when I'm not doing military instruction. We make some pretty impressive machines and parts. I only hope that someday I can turn what I know into something like this. http://m.autoblog.com/2013/11/07/cutworm-specialties-dually-hauler-sema-2013/?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000588
  4. That's a painful reminder... I miss spending 20 bucks for all new front wheel bearings...
  5. For a fire stick or other stick antenna, I'd recommend it. For a whip antenna, not really needed.
  6. I'll look around when I go Thursday.
  7. If you can find this antenna, I'd mount it behind the cab window, in the middle of the bed. This was the best antenna I have found as of yet. The oil cooler helps a lot when boosting power. And it was almost fool proof to tune. I ran skip on my galaxy from Dallas to Maine, transmitting and recieving. Granted it was about to snow and te atmosphere was just right. But the farthest I've talked on a fire stick was Arkansas. Although the fire stick was decent and more than enough for trail use. Big thing is don't let your coax cross over itself, big bends in the coax. And I recommend 18 feet of coax minimum. Mount it like this guys, but up against the cab, between the tool box and window. 8. Not gonna lie, I got pretty excited when I saw that this thread got updated. This is one of the MJ's that got me interested a few years back. Really glad to see it wasn't a "for sale" update! Looks like y'all had a great time in Moab, keep it goin!
  9. Oh man that sucks... I know the feeling. Hope you still get the job though. Unemployment is never fun. And I'm a fan of your build and I wanna see more wheelin pics! First day of a job I got by having my friend stick his neck out for me. Go out to start the truck and head to the site. Starters dead.. Wife was already at work so I had no way to get parts or even to the site. The kicker is that my wife made me sell my motorcycle the day before...
  10. Here's the only pic I could find that had my dash mounted unit in it. Not the best, but shows why the Coax was sun damaged. I had planned on running it through a grommet behind the CB. But the hvac system wouldn't let it.
  11. I keep seeing these story's go around that don't even sound believable. But I saw this today and figured I'd share. http://www.cracked.com/article_20733_5-creepy-urban-legends-that-happen-to-be-true-part-7.html#ixzz2jFHOkdXa
  12. Check the grounds that connect to the Oil Dipstick Tube... Don't ask how I know...
  13. Signed up this morning :)
